The good news tonight, with 10 games still to go, is we're now safe from relegation. With our 69 points, we can't be caught by: Carlisle, Fleetwood, Port Vale (obviously a crucial win today), Shrewsbury or Charlton.
So the worst position we could end up in is 19th, and might even be higher with teams below us having to play each other.
As we begin the business end of the season, the hope is fewer and fewer teams will be able to catch us. For instance, Oxford in 7th can now only get a maximum of 87 points, and the time will come (maybe in 5 games or so) when we're mathematically cemented in the playoffs. Let's hope we reach a point when we cannot finish lower than 2nd. Let's count it down in this thread.
 
 

Today could be the making of Joe Ward as a Derby County player. It was nip and tuck between him and Sibbo for Man of the Match, and for once the award wasn't given to the one who scored more goals! Using them on the front foot made the difference today, and either we limited them to just 2 attempts on goal, with  none on target, or they simply could come up with anything better.
We could only beat what was in  front of us, and we did that fairly well, and probably what was most enjoyable was the upbeat banter from those around me in the South Stand which went on all match. There we  few bizarre decisions from the ref, plus the really bad offside decision against CBT, but actually they either didn't matter, or I didn't care. A sore throat meant I couldn't engage in my usual yelling at the officials, so they got off light to do, but actually I didn't need to yell at them. So well done them, I suppose!
I had hoped to show some appreciation for Darren Moore, but the opportunity didn't present itself, other wise an almost faultless day out. Thank you,Paul and the crew!

Today showed how a back 3 and wing backs can work very effectively IF you have athletic attack-minded wing backs in the team.

It’s pretty crazy to think that we are second in the league table, heading for around 90 points which would be our best points tally in my lifetime at least, yet it’s just not enjoyable - I’d go as far as saying most weeks it’s a miserable watch.
Imagine if we were in Reading’s position?
I don’t see where we go under Warne. If he can’t make 2nd in the league and 90+ points enjoyable, how will he possibly win the fans over in the Championship? 
I reiterate, I think Warne gets us up. But if we stick with him, next season is going to be such a nightmare to watch as we won’t have the results to cover up the painful football. 

Well one game every now and then would be nice.

Warne's style of football is simply unsuitable for a club our size. It gives him absolutely no room for error because there is no goodwill in the bank to give the fans something to cling on to when results are poor.
The football is utterly dreadful and has been all seasons. We are where we are because we are financially more powerful than most of the league even with our restrictions and have players that can paper over the cracks in our amateurish setup.
