Stive Pesley got a reaction from SKRam in Raise your drinks for DCFC
what's that? Someone is organising something in a brewery?
That's simply not the Derby way

Stive Pesley got a reaction from MackworthRamIsGod in Derby County Administration (with the slight possibility of Liquidation still there)
Then again, I've seen someone on one of the FB groups who had been ITK before claiming that it's all a done deal and the administrators asking for bids is just a charade. I guess only time will tell

For those with rusty German like me, "Tag der Einheit" is German Unity Day - a bank holiday for celebrating the reunification of East and West Germany
The Travel Agent is suggesting that people can celebrate by taking a nostalgic trip to the UK so that our empty supermarket shelves can make them relive the "good old days" of East Germany

Once the army have finished driving petrol tankers around the country. Will they then be kept busy helping out delivering Christmas essentials. I'm sure a few soldiers could utilise their bayonets to butcher the meat needed for the nation's Christmas lunch
Should the government ask if the Royal Navy can help out with the global supply chain. I wonder how many shipping containers could be stacked on to the flight decks of our two aircraft carriers.

good job we're not an isolated island nation who chose to decouple from a large trading bloc of countries then....oh

Stive Pesley got a reaction from Comrade 86 in The coronabrexit thread. I mean, coronavirus thread
45 million people double-jabbed in the UK
Between us that's 450 million weeks of people being less infectious - in other words the virus is being supressed
As opposed to if no one had been vaccinated when it would be zero weeks.
No brainer
There are still reasons for not taking the vaccine that I won't argue with but this is no longer one of them

Stive Pesley got a reaction from EtoileSportiveDeDerby in The coronabrexit thread. I mean, coronavirus thread
Interesting - official study that shows vaccination does reduce chances of infection AND chances of transmission considerably
https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.09.28.21264260v1
So hopefully no more of this "what's the point of getting vaccinated if you can still catch it and pass it on?" guff from people

In Sweden... Public sector jobs have the same pay for each relative position regardless of age, sex.
Private sector heavily regulated on fluctuating salary offers.

Stive Pesley got a reaction from OohMartWright in Derby County Administration (with the slight possibility of Liquidation still there)
Yeah - she was great at her job. She's been around since at least the early Nigel Clough/GSE days, if not before
If the new owners have anything about them, they will realise they need to rehire most of those who were let go

Stive Pesley reacted to RadioactiveWaste in Long Keogh piece in the Guardian
Every interview with richard Keogh should be "WHY DID YOU NOT JUST CLEAR THE BALL YOU ABSOLUTE MELT?" that's the only question of relevance.
I knwo i should let it go.
But I can't.

They didn't even play on grass for a start - kids today will never know the skill it takes to judge the weight of a pass through inches of mud
