The point I was making was that the thread has quickly reverted back to "I'm right", "NO, I'm right!" arguments again - it's incredibly tiresome to see the same culprits having yet another pissing contest.....

Surely the penultimate paragraph tells you what you need to know?  Regardless of lockdowns some places in the world were always going to get hit more/less severe than others due to a variety of factors.  Which is why despite Biden calling out the Texas and Florida Governors for their 'Neanderthal thinking' their infection rates are plummeting despite having fully reopened whilst other states in the US are suffering despite being in lockdown ? 

I'd like to see a proper breakdown of stats before I pass judgement tbh.   What percentage of people that died with covid had pneumonia vs those that died with heart disease or cancer etc.  But tbh, I'm tired of it all now and don't really care anymore - just looking forwards to some sunny weather and getting back to 'normal'.

A lot's happened since my last updates. Given the buzz about building a Human city on Mars, my alter ego was invited onto Russia Today (or all places) to talk about that. I can't believe they edited out all my talk about Boca Chica and what's going on there! I know I should speak more quickly too give them time to fit more in.
In Boca Chica, Starship prototype SN11 launched in a peasouper of fog, so couldn't be seen. It exploded just above the pad when trying to land, and again this could not be seen. What were SpaceX thinking? If they'd waited an hour the early morning Texan fog would have cleared.
This was a setback. However, the company had already decided to skip planned prototypes SN12-14 and go straight to 15 which is intended to be a very significant improvement on previous versions. This is now on the launchpad and had the first test of its fuel tanks yesterday. It looks swish and has a loot more hexagonal heatshield tiles, but nowhere near as many as SN16 which is also almost ready to go. I'd expect SN15 to fly within the next 10 days.

Mel clearly wants out (for a number of reasons) he's given it his best shot and not quite got us over the line.  Fair play to the guy, he invested his time, energy and considerable wealth into the club and given us more good times than bad.
He has tried to find us the best new owner possible and settled on Erik Alonso who is talking the talk at least.  My personal view is no one really wants to own a football club to lose £X million so his intentions will be in the right place, whether he succeeds or follows through with any promises time will tell - but its the start of another journey and hopefully we'll enjoy the ride.

Let's hope he signs all the paperwork before kick off.

Time and a place. 

Quite common in most clubs. The candidates all had suitable CV’s ... None of us were fundamentally opposed to any of the appointments at the time. We might have had a dislike of either Pearson’s 1970’s PE teacher mode or the razzmatazz of Lampard but they were all typical of football. We have had every variety with the exception of trying to recruit the sort of tough guy agricultural manager with a “proven record” (although Pearson might fit that bill) . where everyone would have moaned about the lack of ambition.
The transfer policy “errors” started with Bryson and Hughes being injured in the same match which lead to panic buying at inflated prices. At the time, these were seen as bold, supportive and positive moves. Your are eating hindsight by the KFC family bucket load.
The financial state of the club ? .. Mel filled it with money .. some spent well, some badly .. We haven’t had a fiscal mismanagement situation or anything “taken” from the club by Mel. We got in a mess on FFP and Mel coughed up by buying the stadium and paying the club money for it.
Sam Rush ? Is Mel really responsible for another man’s ethics ? ( or lack of them ? ) 
The fiasco ? .. Someone broke their pledges or didn’t meet their obligations .. it wasn’t Mel. Maybe Mel shouldn’t  have trusted them but good business and life is defined by trust. You have to start somewhere. Has anyone thought about Mel here ? He has obviously had some serious health issues yet he hasn’t flinched from being a DCFC man 
yes, for sure, be sceptical or wary of new owners, we all are, we care about our club, but Mel has been a straight shooter from day one. Some of the things he’s done or wanted to do didn’t work out but he is trustworthy beyond doubt . Now maybe those he has trusted are sharks .. but that’s a different story. 
 
I cannot believe how you have such a judgmental attitude to a guy who has given his best efforts and a shed load of money to this club. Your judgement is littered with an astounding lack of logical analysis. 

Some observations -
It looks like at points this thread was subject to a coup attempt to turn it into the politics thread. 
Should the term WASP not now be considered a bit racist? Just asking.
If the bloke really is dubious I imagine he will be boiled alive by the Media and Social Media, and I would HOPE the EFL tests would flag him up.
I think Mel was great - he did his best to blast us into the Prem - it didn't work, mainly as we didn't get the rub of the green. Thanks Mel. I can't imagine he would sell us into a bad situation.
I will wait and see, I don't think the dice have stopped rolling yet. 
 

Deporting immigrants who break the law is a standard approach in many countries.
Angela Merkel recently voted against same-sex marriage in the German Parliament, where the ruling party are her Christian Democrats and therefore religiously influenced conservatives. 
In my experience it's standard for anyone on the left to label anyone who disagrees with them "far right". It's the nature of the polarized societies we live in, driven in large part by social media algorithms. 
I'll judge him as I find him.

On the Vox stuff, if people were happy for us to be associated with a ruling family of the UAE then they can't really complain about associations with unsavoury political parties quite honestly. You can't pick and choose your authoritarianism, I don't really think as a club we should be associated with either. I think what bothers me much more atm is his disputed time with Sheffield Wednesday and the lack of personal wealth which signifies significant problems moving forward. If Morris is selling us on to the quickest bidder he should feel significant shame. 

And depending how results go in the remainder of the season for both clubs, he might not want to step down a division ?
