Lets be honest how can we even judge Rooney, he has not had a penny to spend on the team who was bottom when he took us over, and the poo he has had to deal with this preseason, would make most managers walk away, the person who has truly ducked us over is Mel.

So if an owner of a football club has serious health issues it just stops running? Stops signing players and leaves us in the dirt?

To be perfectly honest. I don't care about hearing about a takeover. After the last 2, I'd rather just know about it when it's done.
    The takeover isn't bothering me.
What's bothering me is that the man that owns us has ran us into the ground.
The man that owns us was a man that grew up on the terraces of the Baseball Ground like we all did, a fan, a supporter, been there through the good and through the bad, a man who supposedly wants the best for the club, a man who would sell us for £1 if it was to the right person.
Takeover or not, how this man has allowed us to be one week and 6 days from a season starting without us being able to put a team out is quite frankly disgusting. How can he be letting this happen?
They would have known that they would have to resubmit their accounts long before the verdict was announced (or at the very worse know that it was highly likely that it was going to happen) How they haven't been submitted already is beyond a joke. Mel knows exactly what we need to do to get out of this embargo and he hasn't done it.
Takeover or not, we should not be in this position, even in the dark times we have had, we have always had a team.
How can we be going into a season a week on Saturday without a centre half in the squad is disgusting.
Stephen Pearce is despicable, he's bare faced lied on Radio Derby and 3 weeks ago he did an interview with the BBC saying "We have a core of senior players and extremely talented academy players that is enough to operate with and we have a plan for the rest of the window, we are not rushing to fill the squad"
We have one centre forward and no centre halves but according to Pearce we have enough to operate with.
Also we haven't heard a single thing from the club since then and no positive actions have been done to get us out of this embargo.
How Pearce and Morris have treated the fans is nothing short of disgraceful. They don't care about us.
This is the worst state the club has been in my lifetime and the blame lies at one man's door.
Cannot wait till he's out if this club and never comes back. The bloke is poison.
Always remember when things are going well he was everywhere.

Bugs me when the subject of coaching badges comes up, saying Nigel Clough/Wayne Rooney havnt got the required badges. Jeez, these guys have been involved with the greatest managers to have ever lived yet I had to work really hard to gain my B Badge, they can do it in their sleep, it is all they have ever known, routine after routine. Rooney could walk the A and Pro Licence without even trying, its just a tick in the box for him

£200m is an oft quoted figure for Mels investment in the club. Is there any actual basis of fact that he has actually spent anything like that? Especially given the debts to MSD, HMRC, etc.

The answer to your question is I’d like him to maybe look at it yes…the debts are down to himself …he’s been running the club and we trusted Mel to run the club properly and it’s in a mess so maybe yes because i don’t see any benefit to him long term whatsoever keeping the club as it is losing even more money month after month so yes maybe make it more of an attractive purchase somehow even if that means losing a bit more to help the sale or do you think he’s entitled to what he wants?
I have never  seen how buying a football club is a good investment because you will always lose money and not just small amounts but DCFC in the second tier of the English pyramid with a great fan base academy and ground and training facilities etc must be as good as an investment as any IF the price is right …
let’s not forget these debts are down to the people who run the club

I said this all through last season. Doesn't matter what manager we have, they're set up to fail. We can't keep blaming managers. It's the man at the top who put us in this mess and nothing will change until he is out of this club.

It’s clear to see that Mel has abandoned us, rooney and the players. When we eventually do protest either in the game or after the game. I don’t want to see any abuse aimed at rooney. Yes you might not think his tactics are good or whatever you want to criticise him about. But at the end of the day he’s been abandoned. Not allowed to renew contracts. Not allowed to sign players. Promises of takeovers. He should walk tbh. It’s a shitshow. The real problem here isn’t the players or the management. It’s the people at the top MM and SP. there are who we demand answers from. They have severed the ties between the fans and themselves

I think you're right about the results but I'd disagree about performances. If we're not looking any good during pre-season that can be a warning sign that we're not really up to par. It's by no means definitive but I do think performances are something to look at as well as fitness.

The recruitment, lack of financial planning and assets stripping is unforgivable. From a sports and business perspective they have failed miserably. The three amigos did time but still left us in a better position. You can’t seriously defend them after what has happened / what they have caused.

I think off the field I only remember 84 being worse, coming back from the home Plymouth match wondering if that’s the last time I’d see the rams play, as for now whatever happens the off field things need sorting, so at least we can get some players in and not to worry about anymore embargo’s etc.
As things on the pitch,I think we are underwhelmed, but sometimes things turn out better than you think, yes we could end up with a mixture of kids and experienced pros that other clubs don’t deem good enough, but for me it’s like resetting something, wages etc will have come down massively and contracts will be short term, so no long term responsibilities, but the main thing now is hopefully a takeover goes through sometime soon and we can get back to being on an even keel.

Also it never felt like we could just implode completely. We weren't going to go down, the club was healthy if run a bit lean off the pitch and we were gradually making progress on the pitch (albeit very slowly).

The best thing we did, come on Nigel did loads of good things for this club, can not believe u did not see how he developed the squad, i bet Mel wish he had him instead of 90 percent of the managers he got in. In fact the best thing the club could do right now is get in the new owners as ASAP and get us out the poo that Mel has left us in.

Disagree the season Mr Clough got sacked we started to play some great stuff the away victory at Yeovil, with the 26 passes before Mr Brysin scored, away to Millwall, when we hit them for 5, some of them players there at the time, believe that we was going somewhere under young Mr Clough and i agree, Clough built the side Steve Mac took to wembley, that team was alot better than we have now, and that's a fact.
