It is if we're 3 points above the relegation places at the end of the season without it
But were 4 games in, a 3 point penalty would still see us above the bottom 3, with 42 games to play, if we were to go down from that situation you can't blame a points penalty, they would have had more than enough games to do something about it, it would come down to us not being good enough

A difficult decision without knowing the outcome of recent talks with the EFL. You say 3 points is nothing, but at the end of last season an extra 3 points were worth millions. Could be the difference between the play offs or not .
We all want an end to the current situation, but it has to be fair to both sides.
I agree with what you're saying, you're right
However my view is that this season everyone would be happy with survival, and a 3 point penalty is one that which in theory can be easily overturned
We threw 3 points down the drain against Peterborough, picked up 3 against Hull and it was forgotten about
I think if we were to be deducted 3 points Tuesday and then get a win on Saturday most people would be happy with that if it means the club is in a position to properly strengthen the squad instead of relying on just the 23 players, and also sort out other off field issues, I see your point I just think 3 points is a small price to pay to get the club moving forward again and I have confidence from what I've seen so far that we could overturn it, but thats just my view

We’d appeal against it though if true ? How reliable is your source @Ellafella?? Not the HP.
Just asking, would you really want then to appeal over a 3 point penalty? Is it worth it? In sure most would happily just take it and move on and put an end to it all, we saw against Peterborough how 3 pomts can easily be won/lost.. its not a big deal

Whether he's right or wrong unfortunately these are the type of story's that will always come with a big name, if they weren't as high profile as Wayne it wouldn't even be a story and wouldn't make the papers, another reason we need a proper manager and not just a famous name.. to keep our club away from the spotlight for a bit

With everything going on at the club who can blame him for wanting to get in that state and forget about it all, I think about it regularly

Poor taste joke… decided better of it!
I agree, however it would be typical of Derby County at the moment, they'd probably make him captain too

Don't see a problem here, both steady championship players

I think that is in relation to the friendlies and no need to rush out and sign players for the sake of it
But we're only weeks away from the start of the season, I wouldn't call that rushing, we've seen the effects of a poor pre season and lack of preparation, I would of thought it was important to get it done sooner, giving new signings the chance to play and train together before the season starts, but thats just my opinion

That's not what he said though, is it?
Well he said the squad we have is enough to operate with.. do you agree with that?

I'm not saying I agree, i'm just saying what he probably means by that, he isn't going to come out and say anything to slate the remaining players we have. There will no doubt be incoming players over the next couple of weeks.
I hope you're right, there's no doubt the squad is a lot weaker than last season, and we only just scraped survival thanks to a points deduction, think it's going to be a long hard season, anything other than relegation will be a miracle

I think it means its more a good basis to start from, clearly holding the academy players in high regard.
Good to see about the loans owed situation, players are fully paid & the accounts delay with Companies House had been agreed.
Just nice to have abit of an update and clarification.
I think most fans would disagree, a few weeks away from the start of the season, no senior cb's and one senior striker coming to the end of their career isn't a good base to build on, and they certainly don't sound like they're in a rush to add to it either

Article about Pearce stating we need to build bridges with the efl & other clubs
Im more alarmed that he thinks the squad we have at the moment is enough! Is that just the clubs way of saying we won't be making any signings?

While it's a huge lifeline for us, after what I saw last night I just don't see us capitalising on it against Birmingham, I hope im wrong but I just can't see it, I don't think these players have it in them

Is it just me or did anyone else think Charlie palmer on radio Derby was terrible?
