The comment 'the efl let derby delay their accounts submission relegated us. They were over due for 3 or 4 years'
So was he saying we should be submitting them 3 years before? When they were not in the championship?
Obviously if that was the case we would have took a deduction before they even had a 1 year championship visit.

Max Bird has played in a 2 in pretty much his whole career so far.
At the moment it looks like Max Bird will ruin himself by needing 10 minutes every time he gets the ball. I rate him highly but he needs to wise up a little bit, I’m sure he will as he’s a very intelligent footballer but the transition to a lower level has not been kind to him so far.

If anything is taken away from today I hope it's that this Bird and Hourihane combination in midfield simply doesn't work. As a pair they lack bite off the ball and on the ball neither of them offers any drive going forward so we always look off the pace in the middle. Drop one of them for Knight or Smith and I think our performances will improve drastically.

Who would have been inconvenienced by matches being played this weekend? Resources were available and preparations had been made. In fact games not going ahead meant fans were inconvenienced and out of pocket in a lot of cases. Clubs were out of pocket, especially with regards to catering preparations and altering travel and accommodation plans. They will also be majorly inconvenienced by having to fit them in at a later date in an already incredibly busy season.
I don't think matches will go ahead next weekend because forces will be unable to provide policing  but clubs and fans will have greater notice - and awareness of this.
I think there is some confusion here between inconvenience and disrespectfulness and I hope all those who feel that football should have been paused have been personally forgoing all other forms of entertainment and writing to express their disappointment to other sports, the hospitality industry and theatres, TV and concert venues.
I bet Rick Parry and his mates haven't been doing any such thing!

What about theatres, pubs, clubs, gigs, businesses, restaurants, supermarkets, doctors, trains, airports?
Wouldn't a better mark of respect been everything shut down one on day, ie the day of the funeral? This piecemeal approach seems pretty meaningless, especially after after years of planning.
Sorry little Jimmy, your under 9s football match vs the next town is off as a mark of respect for the Queen. I'm off for a day of beers at the cricket/golf!

She most definitely does deserve a huge mark of respect.
I don't think cancelling football games is really a mark of respect.
Playing the games with players on the halfway line singing God save the Queen with full stadiums joining in is a much more fitting mark of respect.

I don't think it's set in stone that it will be called off on Saturday.
I personally think that it would be more poignant and respectful to have a minutes silence or a rendition of God save the Queen from all over the country at 3pm on a Saturday.
Not sure what cancelling games will achieve really.

I have been told we should be boycotting it.  Its a "trial" for b teams like they have in spain.    To send a message out to protect the lower league clubs should we be attending?

My opinion is it's completely down to the individuals.  Bird and hourihane dont have the engine or speed like knight possesses and that allowed us to get overrun.
Hourihane is renowned for having a wand of a left foot but on saturday it was anything but. I can only put this down to tired legs from being given the run around all game.
It's honestly a no brainer for me. Knight has to go in midfield for Bird.

So poor today from minute one. They should have gone in at half time winning but somehow we were 2 up.
Bird nowhere near it again today. I dare say if Smith was fit Bird wouldn't have played. We have better balance with a right footer and a left footer in there imo.
Didn't understand bringing Thompson on. I said it at the start of the season that he's nowhere near good enough yet. Not saying he won't be. But he's miles off.
Forsyth poor again. You learn pretty early on that you shouldn't head the ball to the edge of your own box, but he still did.
Cashin and Stearman weren't bad. Glaring error from Cashin for the winner but he's been outstanding.
I'd seriously think about playing Oduroh next week and moving Knight into midfield. This is why it was absolutely criminal we didn't bring a right back in. Not because Knight isn't playing well there but you miss him so much in midfield. I'm surprised Oduroh isn't on the bench so he has that option in a game.
Sibley poor when he came on too but can't be too critical cos he's been very good of late.
Morecambe next week and id go with this if Davies and Smith are back..
                    Wildsmith
    Oduroh Davies Cashin Roberts
               Smith   Hourihane
                       Knight
    NML.        Collins.     Barkhuizen

Well that’s been coming at home - we concede far too much of the central midfield especially at home and have done in every home league game this season. I honestly don’t think Bird and Hourihane are a good combination as they are both very sluggish mobility wise.
we will continue to see opposition teams swamp midfield and control that area at Pride park
If we are to continue to mess about with the ball at the back it has to be with a meaningful purpose and we seem to only encourage the opposition
    we missed Smith today

Yes Plymouth were, on the day the better team and take the points. But we can look back at the Fleetwood and Shrewsbury away games and on a lucky day would have won both and would be sat on 15 points, just 2 behind the leaders. That's football, I'm convinced we will be in the mix for promotion. Players will get to gel as the season progresses. Liam will get to know his best starting 11 for the different tactics of the team we face.

We definitely need more energy in midfield and there’s only one player in the team that can do that but he’s been told he’s playing RB ?

Not surprising that a League One transfer deadline day where we’re being babysat by the EFL is quiet.
I think the only disappointing thing about this window is that it looks like Knight is going to be playing at RB for a while.
Seems like such a waste of talent there, I think he’d be so good in the thick of things in this midfield.
