GangwayD reacted to Gerry Daly in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
There is a lot of similarities between Paul Warne and Arthur Cox. I think Paul has a much better set of players to work with than Arthur inherited though. We are already at least the same point as we were in Arthurs second season playing wise. It would be good if we had the equivalent of Davison and Gee though. If Warne can find a goal scorer we will be cooking on gas

GangwayD got a reaction from BramcoteRam84 in Aden Flint gone to Sheff Wednesday, he was crap anyrode.
Absolutely right BR. I suspect we may have been in for Flint and/or Nelson, but the clubs mentioned that they are going too can currently out gun us with a financial package.
As soon as we show interest in any player coming to the end of their contract their agent will no doubt hawk them around and use our interest to push for better deals elsewhere.
The feeling that the EFL still have us by the short and curly's sticks in the throat but it's what we have to deal with.
I feel we do need to recruit this window with the squad being so small. An injury in a key area and it could quickly derail a promotion challenge, so that's why I disagree in that we'll go with what we have, although I feel sure it will be another loan or two, probably a RB and CF.
Another re-build in the summer, hopefully as a Championship club.
Kind Regards

Didn't Liam explain that they met in a restaurant and had a very long chat, set out his vision and sold the club to Hourihane?

My take on Flint. He’s only interested in the highest bid, (fair enough) he doesn’t want a project (it’s just a job to him) he’s probably a Florest fan (would explain why we’ve missed out twice)

GangwayD got a reaction from Carl Sagan in January Window
Yeh, MH, looked like he was going to be a quality player few years back, from Chelsea to Reading although for some reason his career seems to have stalled. Certainly worth letting him train with us on trial with Flint joining Wednesday.
Would be interesting to see if PW could reignite his career to be part of the squad for next season.

This just epitomises what we’re up against with the business plan we are under. There are probably 6 teams who can out spend us, we are currently sat comfortably 4th so we are over performing, even Plymouth have more spending power than we do, but we’ve recruited well and don’t underestimate the impact of togetherness both players and fans. We’ll continue to overperform and have a good chance of promotion.
FWIW I don’t think we’ll add anyone before the deadline now and we’ll go with what we have.

GangwayD got a reaction from Carl Sagan in Curtis Davies
Understandably for the first 10-15 minutes I thought Curtis really struggled and he looked well off the pace.
He grew into the game and by the end he must have been very pleased with his performance, although for me, when Cash is fit he comes straight back in.
Really hope Curtis stays until the end of the season whereby we get promoted and can give him the ovation he deserves and then he moves on.
Personally I hope he goes to Leyton Orient (his home town club) and has a great season for them then maybe returns in the future to coach or even manage us.
Cheers

GangwayD reacted to S8TY in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
How exactly … did we get worse ? Can you give the evidence that we got worse!
Rosenior done a fantastic job here under Rooney in difficult circumstances and has put together a good small squad keeping within embargoes and budgets set by efl
his style of play differs to Warnes and what Warne ans his team have done has made us look much fitter than when Rooney and LR were here and that is clear to see
Why do people keep comparing when there is no point whatsoever …fwiw I don’t think Warne would’ve signed the players Rosenior did so we should thank him for assembling a good albeit small squad …Warne has galvanised us I get that …but give Rosenior some credit as he did a god job under difficult circumstances here and conducted himself brilliantly at all times

I think the world of Liam Rosenoir, he did nothing but good for Derby County FC. I wish him all the best at Hull City.
I think that Paul Warne is doing a great job at Derby.
It is possible to have both the above opinions.

GangwayD reacted to TomTom92 in Chrissy Martin
Not for me, I know Collins and McGoldrick are both over 30 but for me they both work hard with the added bonus that DM is a superb technician.
I think being a hard working striker is top of the attributes when it comes to playing in a Warne side.
If the choice is Martin or nobody then of course I’d take him for an extra body and the nostalgia. However, I would be pursuing all other options before coming to this conclusion.

GangwayD reacted to DarkFruitsRam7 in Curtis Davies
I think there's a difference between stating an opinion on a forum/twitter and getting on his back though. If he were to score 5 own goals every game for the rest of the season, you could still say his performances have been crap without getting on his back or being disrespectful.
I personally haven't yet seen convincing enough evidence to suggest he's finished, but I don't think any of the "criticism" has been beyond the pale.

Don't disagree at all, we could definitely do with an option of pace if that is a possibility for us this window.
