The big clubs have enough players to put out a reserve team if they want - their 25th best player would likely be paid more than the whole of a lower league’s first team.  So IMO it’s not fixture congestion, it’s just that they don’t make enough money playing against little teams.  Selfish, selfish, selfish.

I think that, provided we're promoted, we should turn the Carlisle game into a Truth & Reconciliation event where, after the game, any fan who booed the team, sang "Paul Warne, your football is s*it", phoned into RD for a good old moan or screamed into Conor Hourihane's face at Stevenage should have the opportunity to do a lap of dishonour on their knees while receiving the forgiveness of the players, management and their fellow supporters.
What do you guys think? 😉

Indeed... and a lot of us who would like to share the celebration with the players and club staff (And particularly a certain Mr Clowes, I'd imagine)... which usually comes in the form of a "Lap of honour"... which have been known to suffer a last minute cancellation in the past, due to too many (unauthorised) folk meandering about on the pitch!
Whatever transpires, I strongly suspect that the old adage about not being able to please everyone will get a passing mention.

Everyone stay in their seats...if we're promoted(of course)Carlisle players go over to their supporters, DCFC players congregate around the tunnel then let Carlisle leave the field of play, DCFC players applaud all fans with a "lap of runners up honour" then go into the centre circle and start the bounce.
The word "invasion" is what it is, There's people who want to see the players do the above, With an "invasion" players will not be allowed to come out until the pitch is cleared...by this time lots of fans have left the stadium to go and get pissed or home to hug their partner.
    KEEP OFF THE FCUCKING PITCH
PS...I'll be in the Rifleman(Belper)watching on my Sky Go App 👍

I don't get it. Even when I was younger I didnt ..eg at the Southampton semi.
What's the point,  you can't see anything and all the players scatter. Just stay near your seats or congregate near the front of the stand and clap the players and staff ie those who have done it. Getting on the pitch seems a weird desire.
Just head into town and civilly get p*ssed with your mates. Seems a bit entitled... 'why can't I run on the pitch and sorta intimidate the opposition'. Generally starts off fairly good natured but has a good chance of going south in some way.
Mainly though, the players can't celebrate properly together or with their families etc because fans want to swamp the pitch.  Do it after the celebratory lap and the players have gone if it matters that much to you.

Must admit @angieram, that took be by complete surprise... particularly the entire last line.
Drinking to excess and snorting coke is apparently becoming a tradition at away matches for some, and also apparently leads to all sorts of boisterous behavior that some would quite likely describe as "Football fun".  I have to admit, this is based on what I've read, not witnessed.
It's been "a tradition" for eons, for Forest fans to lob liquid waste and/or coinage of the realm from the upper tier to the away fans below.  Knowing this tradition, should the latter just stay away, or at the very least, stay back under the upper tier, where they are somewhat sheltered?
The fact remains, DCFC, football clubs in general, and the laws of this country dictate that pitch invasions by fans should not be tolerated, let alone be seen as football fun and consequently applauded.
So much so, DCFC have aired this, ahead of these final two matches...

As an aside, I'd be interested to hear what the likes of our very own Martin Taylor would have to say on that last line.  And many more players besides, of course.

    EDIT:
Apologies, this was written/posted before seeing your latest response in this thread, which admittedly was considerably less surprising to me.  🍻

As we sold out weeks ago, are we now going to have to start counting how many tickets are left in the away end instead?

I think there’s a danger of extrapolating the views of a few fans as a representation of a more general sentiment.
After all, there are a few on here we wouldn’t want to be our emissaries.
I think we have heard from fans of both Portsmouth and Bolton that their team has been inconsistent and often underwhelming.
The league has been decided by the team that survived its blip the best.
Portsmouth also did good business in the window.
Bolton have been hit with injuries like us and have been struggling towards the finish line.
I hope that if we do get second place, Bolton are the team that makes it up from the playoffs.

Seems we may have gone from tickling Marianakis love spuds and the sheep don't know what they're talking about,  to possible protests to get him out and much hand wringing that they've blown more in 2 years than a medium sized countries annual GDP.
Lets hope they do and he has one of his tantrums, takes anyone decent to Greece and tells them to feck off with a wage bill of 170 million a year as a gift.

Promising career ruined by injuries is seemingly the story for TJJ but I don't think we should punt on him staying fit next season.
It would be nice for him if he can play next week but we've got to get a job done first.

Not working for me. Could you pm me your bank details, CCV number (or whatever it is), mother’s maiden name and name of your first pet so I can check to see if it’s a problem with my browser. I would find that very helpful. Thanks in advance Tamworth.

Nearly 20,000 home fans - I think that’s creditable given Bolton is not a big city and they’re down the road from the Manchester clubs. I respect fans who support their home town club rather than be tempted by the bright lights of big neighbours - eg fans of Orient, Stockport and - yes - even Wycombe who could easily be lured away to support a big London club.
