So if Mel, as a final gesture, paid off the HMRC before he put us into administration, we would be infinitely more sellable and he would have a much clearer conscience
If he has put £200m into us over 7 years, that's £28m per year so it would just be another years expenditure to him ?
& even a cautious stock market investor could have made 5% pa on their funds - 5% of £500m = £25m per year

For what it's worth, there was a helicopter at Morley Hayes today. (genuinely)
Could it be the administrators, could it be Dell, could it be Superman

£3m a month does seem rather high if we won't be repaying creditors at this stage.
For example, any stadium & pitch maintenance costs should be paid by the stadium owner shouldn't they, not the football club - we don't own it
Maybe the Athletic are including any stadium rental fees which we don't know the cost of. Will Mel Morris still be charging us for that ?

Rooney has always struck me as someone, who despite being a millionaire many times over and spends a vast majority of time surrounded by other millionaires, has never forgotten where he came from.
I don't want to go to the cliche of "from the streets", but he didn't have a huge amount of privileges as a young boy and neither his family. I'm not speaking for him and trying to avoid tired clichés, but it is hard to look beyond the boy from Liverpool.
Maybe, just maybe he is sticking around and giving his all as he can see a working class city and its fans club flaking apart at the seems and wants to try his best to help us.
Not exactly a Disney fairytale, but it would be simpler to walk away and gob off to sky sports about how tough he has had it.

I know, I bet away from the media he has mates, ex players even family saying "why don't you leave that basket case of a club"
He's used to being put on a pedestal and talked about positively so for him to 'dig in' in these circumstances and just get on with it gets my full respect

I still think something weird is going on, normally the sequence of events is
    1. Directors/owners decide as they cannot pay the bills as they fall due, they need to put the club into administration so as they are not trading whilst insolvent which would leave them open to serious legal peril.
    2. They take advice and approach insolvency specialists.
    3. Notice is filed and taken to court for authorisation to appoint the administrators.
    4. Once authorisation granted Administrators arrive at the company/club get the door keys and take control of all the bank accounts, petty cash etc.
    5. They then send in some junior staff to start pulling together all the financial information and prepare a creditors listing and any debtors who owe the club money.
Normally the administrators arrive same day or day after administrative order approved by the court, so my conclusion is that as no one has arrived at the stadium with that order, technically the club is not yet in administration.
I also find it a little strange that the club has not bought in some turnaround expertise to work on a plan to trade through the current situation especially as Mel Morris stated that the club could  now trade within its means going forwards, obviously there has been an event to trigger this situation, which I guess we will never find out, however as the club cannot be wound up whilst under administration, although the administrator can liquidate the club if there is no hope of saving it as a going concern I think that the event to trigger this could have come from the HMRC with a threatened winding up order.
However I believe that until the administrator bangs on the front door there could be some hope.

I assume that the EFL could now just impose their chosen penalty on us as they know we have nobody to pay the defence legal bill
That is a question I would have liked answered by Mel Morris yesterday " Now you are walking away, What now happens to the outstanding EFL charges against us & how do we defend them? "

He has zero to do with the issues we now find ourselves in, but he has acted with utter class.
He's had no money and is playing a number of players he knows aren't good enough (at least at the moment) without a word of complaint publicly.
He's just got on with his job and tried to get this team playing decent football with one hand tied behind his back, wearing lead boots and being made to wear a balaclava the wrong way around.
And then he hears about going into administration on TV like the rest of us and rather than whining or walking out he gets on with his job.
I really like what I'm seeing, especially when you consider he's in his first year of management and the second youngest boss in the entire football league.
He should have control of this team if/when he has money to spend, or at the very least until the end of this season.
If he does walk or get pushed, I for one will be bitterly disappointed.

Have just booked flights (from Iceland) for Swans game and the double header in Feb v P'boro and Millwall.
Hate the position the club finds itself in and sincerley sorry that I cannot do more from afar, but really encouraged in how the fans are coming together and showing unity.
We can but hope that the club come out the otherside and that we can still watch on from the terraces, wherever we are.

So what is the best that could come out of Dell taking control in the short term ?
Is there a possibility that we can keep our squad together & that staff will not lose their jobs.
I mean, if it goes to an administrator then surely they will look and say " you don't need an academy, you don't need match analysts, you only need 2 coaches etc, etc"
