Loose change, as he's not 17 yet and hasn't signed a professional contract, ala Delap to Man City and Gordon to Liverpool.?

Would it be that difficult for these youngsters to wait until their 17th birthday, then sign a contract for Derby, immediately followed by a transfer to the 'big' club and earn Derby a few million, instead of the paltry compensation they receive atm?
I've said previously that Bellingham did this at Birmingham, the result, £25M for Blues and Bellingham still got his move to a big club, all for the sake of waiting a few months. The deal was agreed some time before his 17th birthday, surely our academy needs to try and sort this out. That's now 3 key youngsters lost in the last 3 years for a pittance, the difference between administration and solvency.
I can understand the frustrations of those who feel that we've been short changed, even though we're a Cat 1 academy.

It was quite frustrating to see 4 corners in quick succession fail to reach the middle of the goal from Bird. I always felt that Shinnie was decent with corners and would have liked him to have had a go.

For anyone who wants a laugh. Not quite sure what their gripe is!
Maybe next time a team kicks a ball out for your player down injured (we we're in a decent attacking position too) don't boot the ball out for a throw the other end of the pitch and not even let us take the throw without pressure!
I'm glad that came back to bite them in the arse!

This is his 9th season with us. He's lost 2 of those seasons through serious injuries and yet has fought back to be a generally reliable squad member. If anyone has given this club value over the years, he has.
Our support has been outstanding this season, but some of our fans, sadly, are still brainless twits.

They can shag right off after that stunt they pulled at the start of the second half when their player was injured.

If only SM had said this, when Newcastle came calling a few years back.
How different things could have turned out. Just one of many small incidents, which combined, have contributed to our downfall.

I've just checked and that seems to be so, but contrary to that interpretation, how many times do you see a long through ball chased by a striker who only gets flagged when he eventually catches up with the ball by the corner flag, the free kick is never given by the corner flag, but is given where the player was when the ball was played forward.

The stupidity is in the execution of the tactic. By all means pass it to the keeper, if you feel that he is the best equipped player to distribute the ball out of the back, but for christ's sake, just touch the ball to him standing right next to you. The benefit being that the ball has no pace and is easier to control, also the striker has less time to close the keeper down. When you look at the replay of their goal, by the time the ball reaches Roos from Davies, the striker has almost covered half the distance to close down Roos. If Roos was standing next to Davies and just having the ball touched to him, then he would have twice as much time to deal with the ball and not be put under as much pressure, leading to a possible error.

Actually, I should correct myself. I did actually play in one match in goal and that was representing DCFC in kit supplied by the club.
The match was a charity match for the West Midlands branch of the supporters club against the Aston Vile supporters club, with a football League referee officiating. We won 4-1 and no, we didn't get a penalty, even then. ??

I don't think plan B was administration, I think that you could have gone through the entire alphabet 3 years ago and still wouldn't have envisaged a 'covid' situation. Even during WW2, clubs were having supporters coming through the turnstiles to watch guest players playing for your team.
Take away covid, what would our current position be? I doubt very much that we'd be in administration.  I suspect that the playing staff would have been cut back, but not to the extremes we have now.  I also suspect that we would be facing some sort of points penalty, but again not to the level that we currently fear. I don't believe that before covid, anyone could predict a situation where Derby could end up in this situation.
Under the previous owners and Nigel's management, we had had years of mediocre football and had shown no ambition, I think that the consensus of the support at the time was that we were prepared to take a gamble and without the benefit of hindsight, not even contemplating the actual cost of failure.

At 5ft 9in, I never stood a chance of making it as a goalie, until now, at 62 playing walking football, the goals are only 6ft high. ?

Bennett, all day long, Malone was a decent player for us, but was quite often a scapecoat. He was bundled out of the club and it was made clear to him that he had no future here. Bennett, on the other hand, was always given the benefit of the doubt by the management and the fans, including me, because he was 'one of our own'. His subsequent actions since 'Joinergate' have left a very sour taste.
