1 win will keep us up.
If we can't win a game then we'll have won 1 game in 15, that's 1 win in nearly a 1/3rd of the season, and will thoroughly deserve to be relegated.

Football club ownership is an ego trip. Always has been, always will be. The American owners before Mel were ridiculed for not spending money, but got lucky in having Nigel Clough as manager. He was prepared to work with what he had, and did a bloody good job of it until they were persuaded to give Mac the job. Mac took the squad of players he inherited to another level, but was never going to work to Nigel's budget.
The buck ultimately stops at Mel, and obviously I won't be sending a cheque. I will however continue to pay my part as a (now long distance) fan. Mel is "to blame", but I thank him for everything he's done because he's done it trying to get us promoted. He's failed, miserably, but he's lost a lot more money than the club has.

Yeah, fine margins. At times it's because we've lacked quality at vital moments, at times it's because we've set up wrong and only started trying to attack once already behind, giving the opposition chance to just get everyone behind the ball and hit us on the counter.
Waghorn getting sent off against Preston didn't help, although (despite the recent result) I still think Preston were there for the taking, and that they were pretty crap thsemelves in the 2 earlier matches against them.
The unlikely point against Brentford just serves to remind me of how Sibley's been mishandled - the fear of him giving away some free kicks and picking up a few cards vs the threat of him scoring a few goals if played centrally is a difficult balance to get right, but we've totally bloody fudged it IMO and ended up with the worst of both worlds.
That Brentford game showed me what we could do! It gave me a glimpse of what another manager might have seen from the off had he not been someone complicit in our failures up until that point.
We don't need to have been massively, significantly better under Rooney than we have been, it's just a couple of goals here and there and we'd be sitting here feeling a lot more relaxed about the whole thing.
I refuse to believe that 32 goals is the most anyone could have got from us.

I think we’ve been well below par for the majority of the season to say the least, and staying up would be incredibly lucky.
We’ve won what? 11 games this season? We went through our spell of 6 wins in 8, so that means in the other 36 games so far we’ve won 5 times. It simply is not good enough no matter where we finish.

in terms of form i'm amazed that Huddersfield aren't down there 2 wins in 23 and conceded 12 in the last two away games.  They are that gash even we beat them in that run.
The result that's kept them out the bottom 3 an inexplicable 4-1 V Swansea coupled with a very ahem unexpected win at Forest.

It's remarkable that we're only 4th favourite for relegation. Thank goodness for Wednesday's points deduction.

Dovetails nicely with the one win from our first 15, so two wins in 2/3 of a season. At least the middle bit was pretty good.
    First 15 games P15 W1 D5 L9
    Middle P16 W9 D2 L5
    Last 15 games (so far) P13 W1 D3 L9
Chuck in the ridiculously low goals from open play stat & this season is second only to the 07/08 debacle.

Yeah, I had a quick look myself and I'm scratching my head as to where I saw it. I suppose there is a chance that conclusion was arrived at based on what could be appealled with any chance of a punishment being handed out.
The second charge was broken down in to 5 particulars. The EFL withdrew the 1st of those.
    2. EFL felt FRS 102 means amortisation of players should be on as straight line basis. Dismissed and no chance of winning on appeal.
    3. ERVs (assigning an estimated value prior to the expiry of a contract). Due to us not disclosing the policy clearly, the EFL misunderstood, thinking it was an assigned value at the end of the contract. Dismissed, and no chance of winning on appeal.
    4. Reliability (not certainty) of ERVs. I suppose there's a chance this one could be overturned. However, the appeal is based on the evidence previously provided, and whether the verdict reached is fair based on that evidence. FRS 102 states 'expectation', rather than the EFLs case of 'entitlement'. For example, despite Bielik's injuries, we may still expect to sell him for £6m. It doesn't mean we will get £6m.
    5. Disclosure of policy. We were already found guilty of this one. If appealing the punishment, it should be noted that it had no impact on our P&S position, and therefore can not be punished for failing it. That means no points deduction. It's a fine at most for deliberately misleading the EFL (due to not responding to their queries on the matter).

Summary: if it is the entire charge, there is zero chance of #1-3 beijg any different to the decisions already made. It would take a massive Gibson to overturn #4. A maximum punishment of a 'slap on the wrist for #5.

I'd take issue with JP's verdict that the club face 'serious punishment' if the appeal finds in the EFL's favour. My take is that the complaint surrounds how the change in amortisation policy was incorrectly reported, not an issue with the policy itself.
Let's be honest, if that is the case, anything more than a slap on wrist would be grossly unfair.

The consensus was the worst case scenario was a fine and not a points deduction. Hasn’t the deadline passed for any implementation in terms of a points deduction this season anyway...
