According to transfermarkt we've made a net transfer profit over the years 16/17 to 20/21 of £5m.
One big summer spend (15/16) is all we've had, and we're still having a legal battle over it in 2021.
    Big spending Derby my arse.

Probably been posted before but the below quote is from the original decision document. It makes sense that we haven’t filed any accounts since the ones under scrutiny because their claim was that we breached the rules just by filing the accounts with the ERV method of amortisation, as opposed to straight line amortisation. Had we submitted accounts for 2018/19 and 2019/20 and continued to use that method, and they won their appeal, as appears to be the case, we would likely also be in further trouble for that.
It also doesn’t mention breaching spending limits as a part of this charge, it was part of the first charge which we won and they didn’t appeal, so I’d have thought that would have to be a new charge, if we have breached the £39m limit on submission of restated accounts, a new decision panel, and surely therefore the ability to appeal any decision?
@Ghost of Clough has already mentioned, when you alter the amortisation, it may also alter the profit made on certain players. Off the top of my head this might affect the transfers of Ince, Vydra and Weimann, the first 2 could be quite a significant profit difference if their ERV at time of sale was high in the accounts submitted. I don’t know if Kieran Maguire has factored this into his figures.
The original forecast losses mentioned for the accounts not yet submitted in the decision document would also change. Partly because if players weren’t able to be sold for their ERV, then the difference between the ERV and zero was to be amortised in the final year, where with the straight line method this would be much smaller in that final year. Partly because it depends whether we were carrying on with the ERV method of amortisation for the players acquired after 2017/18, if yes, then their amortisation would have been low in the early years, if not, then it would be higher anyway.
Another thing, if we have gone over for any of the years between 2015/16 and 2017/18, once punishment is handed out, those years should be reset to the maximum for each year over the limit shouldn’t they? So £13m max for each one, I think that’s what happened before with Birmingham, so you’re not punished for that same year being over the limit twice, as it is included in every set of 3 years (now 4 with covid counting 2019/20 and 2020/21 as one) whether it is year 1, 2 or 3.

Not entirely unrelated to this thread I get the principles behind FFP but the reality we are seeing this season with the exception maybe of Barnsley having a cracking season is a league that is in danger of becoming a closed loop from the Premier League which is fuelled by the parachute payments, same/similar clubs yo-yoing between the two, the increase in punishments to clubs in our league making them too afraid to dare to dream of anything other than staying in the league.
The 3 coming down next season all have obvious claims of bouncing back, Brentford/Bournemouth/Swansea depending on who goes up will be thereabouts again.
I'm well aware we have far bigger issues of our own to worry about but if I was a neutral I'd say this league is in real danger of going from exciting to boring very fast.

There is a worrying trend in modern society to convict by media before being proven guilty. The media have whipped up almost a baying mob it seems.

    A view point.
It is clear that this is a complicated issue and open to interpretation of complex accountancy practices and confusing rules. An independent tribunal, with some expertise in the field, have studied this and found in the Club's favour. Another group of three independent "experts" look likely to reach the opposite conclusion. This in itself surely shows there is a level of doubt and definitely differing possible interpretations, both of the rules (which clearly lack clarity) and also what is acceptable accountancy practice within those rules.
Surely the doubt involved must be taken into account with the level of punishment? These are not "matters of Fact" they are "matters of opinion". If it was being heard as a criminal case it would not stand a chance of passing the "beyond all reasonable doubt" test. It isn't of course a criminal court case.
All I think we can reasonably hope for is that the punishment "fits the crime" and takes account of the doubt and interpretation issues, rather than the Club and it's supporters being made an example of to satisfy a despotic governing body.

There were the short extensions for Johnson, Blackman and Butterfield - that would spread ~£15m over 5 years instead of 4.  There were the automatic extensions to Huddlestone and Davies, that's £3m over another year.  Not massive amounts, but not nothing either.
The bigger issue will be with not knowing the exact individual fees for players, so you can't account for contract length or when they were sold.  The accounts will tell us we spent £50m in a given year, but we have no idea how much of that will be amortized over 2 years, 3 years, 4, years etc.  And when players are sold, we have no idea how much to knock off the amortization for subsequent years - both Vydra and Ince were sold (for profit) midway through their contracts.  Various other players have left for various reasons too - Raul Albentosa sold for profit after a season or so, Weimann sold after 3 years, Abdul Camara had his contract cancelled etc etc.  We can't always even be sure which financial year a player was sold in, if it's close to June 30th. There's going to be a massive amount of guesswork involved in doing it this way.

Can you blame them? Especially if what is read by supporters of other clubs are just the endless negative articles written about us by various papers.
It wasn't so long ago that everyone was rooting for us in a play-off final over a "cheating" QPR. Now the tables have turned. There's always the animosity towards the clubs that have splashed the cash to get up but failed, rather than those who were successful as they stuck two fingers up to the rules on the way up.
Lots of praise for teams like Leicester, Villa, Wolves etc in recent seasons for how they've done in the Premier League, with very little mention that they bent the same, or similar rules as we have apparently broken to get there. They were successful with it, we weren't. We're the ones who are vilified.

I think whatever the EFL want the EFL get.
Is it just a coincidence that every time the EFL appeal they win? Does that mean that every person who sits on the first independent panel of every case is completely incompetent and isnt able to come up with a decision based on the information provided.
Strange as well that the EFL are able to appeal a decision made by an independent panel and if the original decision is overturned (everytime) the club isnt allowed to challenge it.
Cant be just me that thinks we have a legal system in the real world and then football that seems it's own entity with power hungry greedy barstewards who can change rules at the drop of a hat to suit.
One last thing. Why are we being so severely hounded for breaching rules that have seen us gain absolutely nothing over recent years and clubs like Forest and Watford can have owners who own 2 clubs and sell players between them for over inflated fees to circumnavigate FFP.
And dont even get me started on West Ham who can literally field 2 illegal players costing Sheff United their place in the prem, are found guilty and fined 10 million, but dont receive a points deduction. Then get given a stadium at our expense.

Surely you cant allow your mates dog to crap in your garden and then kick off when you accidentally step in it.
The EFL signed this off as ok and just because Steve Gibson has kicked off and just because Parry clearly has a vendetta against Mel Morris, the club is wrongly being dragged through the mud.
    This really is so wrong.
