Still scratching my head on this one. Would you agree that a degree of scepticism is fair regarding unproven rape allegations?

This is probably the most naïve thing I've seen for a while.

You really think C4 and The Times would be able to publish a documentary after a 3 year investigation, with 0 evidence?! Considering how the victims and other comedians have seen how aggressive and threatening Brand's legal team are, you really think they wouldn't have proof before the did this? Wow.

I lose nothing by waiting for a criminal conviction. A conviction that will surely be forthcoming with the plethora of evidence amassed by C4 and The Times.

I'm just leaving this here. Some people need to actually have a think about what they say, because you never know what the people you are talking to have been through. Imagine this happened to one of your family members and they weren't believed just because they waited a year to say anything.

When you write "have a think about what they say", can you clarify exactly what you mean? Given that it has already been established that no one in this thread has declared Brand innocent. I absolutely will not believe accusations without proof. I do not care if that upsets anyone. Thank you for the lesson in empathy though, I have never before considered that a thing I'm discussing could potentially effect me or my family.

Yep , seems this topic is headed the usual way , he was the darling of the left when at the height of his disgusting self whether that be regards the allegations or his disgusting so called comedy , as I say I’m not the best to make judgements at this point as my personal view of him is below the gutter , seems these kind of people get a pass from one side or the other all too often when they could and should have been stopped from going on to where we are now

I'm interested what he did to upset you so much. He can be very grating and he was/is a massive slut (something that appears to be coming back to bite him on his much publicised "winky"), but at the height of his fame he was just an average vacuous celebrity.

I'm completely done with trial by social media. I don't care about allegations other than wanting the accused/accusers to have their day in court to establish the actual facts of the matter. Too many times we've been assured by a rabid media and even more rabid social media mob that the accused is as guilty as a puppy sitting next to a pile of poo, only for charges to be dismissed once that old pesky proof is requested. Benjamin Mendy being a recent case in point.

  6. I know this is easy to say with the benefit of hindsight, but I was always worried about our bowling attack this season. Considering we often struggled to take the 20 wickets required to win games last season, I did wonder how many were so bombastic about our chances with only the addition of Chappell. This season has been one of the most toothless bowling attacks I can recall. What do people think of how the side is shaping up for next season? Who do you tip as leading wicket taker next year?

  7. It's difficult to comment without being able to see the conditions. In my opinion common sense dictates that you play out those final minutes unless the conditions are extreme. I really struggle to see how it could be so dangerous that they couldn't make it through an extra 10 minutes on the day to avoid all this rigmarole.

I don’t mind signing a talented all rounder who was only 26.

I struggling to see the sense in playing him when he’s clearly injured.

Is he definitely injured? This isn't the same kind of cope as last season where we all convinced ourselves that Lakmal's lack of impact was due solely to injuries?

I do agree that if he is injured we're being very unfair to keep throwing him in the team.

Time to move on was some while ago.

Forget Mel, and if you want my advice, forget football for a couple of weeks.

We definitely shouldn't forget. Some of us were questioning the expenditure that very first summer when we spent a combined 10 million on Johnson and Butterfield. The vast majority of fans were happy to blindly trust the owner. I agree that a witch hunt against Morris is pointless, but we as fans need to remember to be more sceptical when someone comes in promising the moon and spending at levels that are obviously unsustainable.

  10. Rooney gets away with a lot because people were and still are star struck. If his name had been Joe Bloggs instead of Wayne Rooney there's no chance his tenure would be viewed with even a fraction of the same positivity. I resent how we're supposed to see it as some kind of privilege that Rooney is connected to the club. He's struggling at DC because he isn't a good manager. He wasn't a good manager at Derby, and I doubt he'll be a good manager at whichever club is the next to decide they value publicity over skill.

I'm not pushing for him to be excluded.

I wanted to know if the recording had been heard, if you think there's no difference to hearing someone's voice speak and reading their words, then that's your view.

Fair point. Tone can be very important. I just think the words are fairly unequivocal in this instance.

Lol. You really are a joker.

At the beginning of this long, long, piece of side stepping by you I asked you a simple question that you still haven't answered.

"I'm interested, have you heard the media posts that lots refer to when they've made their decision on what they think about Greenwood?"

Edit: actually no forget it, it is quite clear that you haven't heard the recording of (allegedly) Greenwood saying the above quotes.

Why do you think a reaction to hearing the recording would be any different to reading the transcripts?

For anyone pushing for him to be excluded from football, what career would you consider acceptable?

I was unable to get to the match unfortunately, @Anon.

What formation did Sam Griffiths go with and who played where?

    Many thanks.

    Started with 4-4-2.

I'm afraid I can't give you all the positions since I'm not familiar with the team yet. Sims played right back. Steggles and Jackson at centre back. Ashton and Mosby started up front. I felt things looked better when Rai was introduced and Mosby dropped deeper to receive the ball to feet. Wolves were supremely dominant in the air and were happy to sit in and invite long balls and crosses because they knew they could deal with them pretty easily. Sutherland really set the tone for a much improved second half by putting herself about and upsetting Wolves' rhythm in the middle. Derby probably deserved a draw on balance of play, but Wolves were well organised and I imagine they'll be in the promotion mix again.

  14. I'm not really sure what to make of this. According to the alleged victim, there's no crime to answer for and the police have decided not to pursue a prosecution. Is it really reasonable to campaign for a man who has committed no crime to be barred from returning to his job? Having said that, I wouldn't be comfortable with him signing for Derby. I find it baffling that Manchester United seemingly thought they could get away with bringing him back. Whether I agree or disagree with him returning, it's obvious that the very public nature of the incident and the current social climate make playing football in the UK a near impossibility.

What is the situation with libel laws here? Is it ok to even call him a rapist, or could he potentially sue?

The Out Laws: You have to watch it just to hear Pierce Brosnan's Scottish (I think) accent. Then switch it off, coz it's just horrible. How this got funding, or even a release, is way beyond me. Stay away, the plot, the acting, the script are just cringeworthy in the extreme. Jay McEveley / 10

Is it better or worse than his Irish accent in Taffin?

I kind of feel the same about Anderson's later offerings. They aren't bad, but he almost became a parody of himself, hitting the exact same beats and utilising the exact same themes as all his other films. Have you seen The Darjeeling Limited?
