Not at all - GT had physical injuries that ended his career - Ibe never matched him. Ibe wasted his chances.
What do you mean when you say, never matched him. In terms of effort? In terms of appearances, Ibe made more than Thorne, generally at a higher level. Either way, I'm not sure how valuable the comparison is, since physical and mental problems are so different. I don't really know anything about Ibe's situation. I think you're being too harsh in simply dismissing any mental problems outright, but I also think most other posters are too lenient in simply assuming that all Ibe's problems must be a result of factors outside of his control.

they havent set us a fair total, shut up shop and balls to them
Completely agree. They didn't leave anything for us in the chase. This has been a good game, but I'll be incredibly annoyed if we lose.

I completely understand his irritation with sections of our fans. There are some unbelievably stupid things that have been said and sung about him. He does like running his mouth though, see his stupid comments about non league Wrexham somehow being disrespectful last season. He's got a massive chip on his shoulder and one "King" Billy is already enough to last me a lifetime. Then there's the most pertinent issue that plenty of others have mentioned, surely we can find better options than a 37 year old looking for a final payday?

It’s about leadership, coaching, motivational skills and obviously knowing the game. I’ve always been impressed with Emma Hayes and I think she could do a really good job in the mens game. But will a Prem or Champ club take the leap?
I severely doubt it. She was linked with the Wimbledon job and referred to it as an "insult". As a club owner, why shortlist her just to receive a lecture about how insignificant your club is and how even considering her for the role is somehow disrespectful?

Very, but usually about sub genres of metal
Don't be calling metalcore or death core thrash metal in my house..
I can't keep track of all the sub genres nowadays. Post post math metal core, neo gothic shoegaze etc... I swear music journalists just invent them to sound important.

It's pretty embarrassing for the Aussies that they felt they had to resort to this to take Bairstow's wicket. There's not really any defence for their actions in this instance. Yes, it's within the laws, but it's cheap and underhand. Having said that, no one does righteous indignation quite like the English. See the pathetic reaction last summer when India mankaded Dean. Personally I feel like our reaction is also embarrassing and completely disproportionate. I can't stand all this "spirit of cricket" guff. Not because I disagree with the notion that there's a spirit of cricket, but because people only ever invoke it when they're looking to excuse mistakes and when it would benefit their team. How many English people care about the spirit of cricket when Broad refuses to walk after a clear edge?

the outline on the badge looks so bad, what season was this from again?
We never wore this shirt. The 2007-2008 English football season is a psyop that never actually happened.

I've been enjoying du Plooy's one comedy ball per over.

I was literally just about to start whinging about our lack of penetration. Great work from Thomson to get Roderick.

Wasted talent and another chance won't change him.
Can anyone tell me what is actually wrong with this statement? It doesn't pass comment on Ibe's specific issues, just states that his talent has largely been wasted. It's objectively true. Of course, saying he won't change is entirely speculative, but it's not exactly against the odds that a guy who's failed to play any football at all for nearly four years won't just be able to snap his fingers and pick up where he left off. Would you offer him a contract at Derby? Bear in mind that it's deeply problematic to consider his mental health problems as a potential negative. Would you sign an ex Liverpool player on a free to play in the third tier? If not, why not? He should boss it at this level judged on ability alone.

Bolton fans had a choice to make, nothing particularly inspiring, but...
Home kit choice has been revealed...
I imagine there'll be quite a large number of people out there who think this is brilliant because it's so basic, even if it looks like it's been sewn by an apprentice at the local knicker factory.
I suppose it shows what people who want us to go back to blue shorts would actually get if we did.
I think this is a great idea. Yes, none of the designs reinvent the wheel, but at least giving fans several options shows at least some work on the kit manufacturers part (looking at you adidas) and if you hate the shirt you can blame your fellow fans rather than the designer.
How does voting take place? How easy would it be for fans of a rival team to deliberately vote for a stupid shirt design?

For anyone who watches the coverage on youtube, do your eyes ever drift across to the live chat? I ask because during t20s it is genuinely some of the most unhinged and bizarre nonsense I've seen anywhere on the internet. For starters, every poster is near illiterate. All player names are spelled incorrectly and the grammar is so poor that it's often impossible to even parse what the commenter is attempting to convey. The reactionary nature of the comments would even make people in dcfc matchday threads blanch. A single dot ball inevitably means a batsman is useless and should never play again. One bad ball is often met with a chorus of posters claiming the game is fixed. Whilst we're on the topic of fixing, you get multiple posters claiming to have utterly absurd amounts of money invested on the result. Part of me wonders if many of them are bots because I struggle with the concept of human beings conversing like this.

I don’t remember him playing for us in all fairness!
I followed the Burley preseason quite closely as I was pretty enthused about what I'd seen since he took the job, and I was really impressed with Weckstrom and thought he'd definitely break into the team. Spoiler - he didn't.
-
Kris Weckstrom? I don't think he was here for that long, but I'm short on Finns and it's not Simo.

Good to see you're laser focused on the pertinent issue as usual. Innocent people literally stabbed to death in the street, whatever, just part and parcel of living in a modern vibrant city. People saying nasty things online, now this is the real problem.

At 4 in the morning? I'm not saying you're wrong, but a straight up terrorist attack would normally want to target more people and be more visible.

I think it's because people don't want to have to constantly use six syllables when Alexander-Arnold is on the ball. Super hard mode for commentators would be a team of English zoomers all with double barrelled surnames against Georgia.

Left back.
Celebrating doing your job is for show offs. A low five for anyone who provides an assist and a single fist pump for a late winner/equaliser.

Foster did say that the ball was doing plenty and there was a good deal of moisture in the pitch early doors. Even if that was the case, Derbyshire need to not fold like a pack of cards every time we face adverse conditions. Someone has to stand up and see out that first hour.

There is some truth in that. I struggle to empathise too much with millionaire footballers when there are so many average joes (and janes) who can't simply have a 2 to 3 year career break and have to drag themselves out of bed each morning regardless of whatever personal demons they're facing because they have rent/mortgages to pay and families to support.
