If the EFL had raised concerns at the time people like Keiran Maguire and Steve Gibson were grassing us up all of this would have been sorted by now.
Derby would not have signed Bielik for 10 million had they known we were in trouble, wouldnt have signed Cocu onto a big contract etc etc.
The fact the EFL dismissed it all and then Rick Parry came in, opened up the historical book of claims and hand picked Derby and Sheff Weds for scrutiny just proves he wanted to shake the world of football by making examples of big clubs. Absolute

It still seems very high though.

I know things must be bad, Mel would have issued a statement by now to quosh rumours. The fact the club havent ever, to my knowledge, issued any kind of statement on the failed BZI takeover, the Alonso takeover or any of the quite major media speculation, suggests either things are so bad, or Mel and Stephen Pearce just no longer care.
One thing though. We were told 3 sets of people were interested in buying the club. Sam Rush allegedly one of those with Andy Appleby and Mel wasnt keen to sell to someone involving Rush. Whether this is true is one thing, but surely if things are so bad you dont let egos stand in the way of saving the club you love?

Obviously just winding up with the Bristol Rovers thing.

Why? If I was in charge Buchanan would be 13 million and I would be commanding a lot more for Sibley and Knight. Those valuations are based on our general crapness when it comes to selling players. And the fact I wouldnt lose sleep if we lost the mentioned players, after this year I honestly think the club needs a great reset and I wouldn't be upset to lose anyone if it meant saving the club.
If I was in charge of Derbys recruitment back when we were splashing cash i would moved heaven and earth to sign Tom Cairney from Blackburn, a player I rated before he made a name at Fulham, Sergei Canos when he was at Liverpool and Alan Judge at Brentford. Whether they would have signed for us is another thing of course.
 

Before we all get too excited it's worth remembering that Percy is the club's preferred outlet. It's completely plausible that they have placed this story 'annonimously' in order to get Alonso to complete the deal.
