If he signs or not it's the quality of players we are being linked with we start getting these players in when we can we are doing something right! Unlike under Mel's era we were just signing players from the same league these players are good championship players let's just keep aiming high

It’s league one and we will need people who can head the ball away - and in the opposition net - originally from pinxton as well so it makes sense apart from his wages no doubt - we will see

I’m hoping for the perfect trilogy
     Notts Forest lose in play-offs
     Leeds relegated
     Wycombe lose in play-offs
Already got Middlesbrough missing out on the  play offs in the bag

Did you notice the deliberately downplayed "at the least to a points deduction" too? ?
...and at the most? Withhold our golden share, refuse to let us play in the league. Let's just gloss over the real threat though and word it so that people will think we didn't go through with it for fear of the lesser possible consequences.
Its almost textbook EFL tactics. Like when they said that Derby didn't even apply for the covid loan, putting the onus on us even though they'd specifically put rules in place that meant we wouldn't have been eligible.
If you accuse this bloke of being an EFL stooge (not saying he really is, but sometimes you have to wonder) or constantly defending them, he'll happily tell you "Oh no no no, if you look back you'll see I was critical of the way they did this and that" and yet somehow every single time it comes down to an argument on the EFL's stance vs anyone else's stance (be it Morris, Q, or even their own disciplinary panel) he'll always find some way to make out that the EFL were the ones in the right, entirely justified, just doing what they have to do within their rules.
Says all this and all that to make himself sound reasonable, fair and unbiased but as they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating - again reminiscent of a certain governing body.
It's as watertight as Rebekah Vardy's evidence that she wasn't leaking info to the press!
In any case the EFL rules are mainly guidelines in reality, they give themselves all sorts of scope to act at their discretion, it's baked in that they can interpret some of them however they see fit and revisit any decision at any time for any reason.
If they'd wanted to (or had the guts to) they could probably quite easily found a way to have 'followed their rules' and threatened to remove Boro's golden share for taking action against us. Stopped them dead in their tracks.
Instead of course we all know what happened.

If you cant see any problem at all with what the EFL did over the ground sale then I think anyone will be forever wasting their time trying to convince you that there are any faults with the EFL.
Just to remind you, the EFL told DCFC it was ok to sell the ground, advised them over what valuation to use and then charged them over the transaction.

Without wanting to be involved in any of your disagreements with other posters, one point I'd make is that DCFC would have a great case against the EFL if only for the unbelievably unprofessional tone they used.
When they said in an official statement they were "disappointed" a ruling on one aspect went in our favour, then they showed a bias against us. A professional body should not, publicly at least, be "disappointed" that a member of that professional body had been found not to have broken a rule.
Parry was scared of Gibson's threat to sue and caused DCFC to suffer more than was required by the EFL rules because of his cowardice.
No matter what happens going forward, Rick Parry will always be guilty of pushing us to the brink of extinction by his inability to deal with Steve Gibson.
Absolute w****** the pair of them.

B4, please read this carefully as it’s been said a few times and you look very silly ignoring it!

it does not matter how much money we want to spend or how rich the owners might be, as part of the deal we will be limited by rules on how much we can spend on players and wages!

There are businesses only being paid 35p (over 3 years) for every £1 Derby owe them.

To put this into context, pretend I owe you £1000. Now imagine I’m only going to pay you £120 this year, £120 next year and £110 in two years, you won’t be getting the remaining £650 I owe you because I say that I can’t afford it. Now imagine that at the same time as paying you only £120, you find out I’ve spent £2000 on buying the same thing you sold me but from someone else. You’d be upset right??
well, to prevent this happening, EFL force clubs coming out of administration to sign up to a business plan limiting spending and budgets. If the club doesn’t stick to it, point deductions and embargos happen.

So please please stop saying Derby will spend decent money. We wont. It’s not allowed.

If Bielik needs to go to a team higher than League 1 to go to the World Cup then so be it, as long as the Poland manager and Bieliks agent can find someone to stump up enough cash for him, if not then its only them standing in his way of not going to the World Cup, not the club.
If we were top of League and he played every minute of every game and was our best it would be ridiculous if they didnt take him, how would that be much worse than playing for them this season when we were bottom? Literally could be 1 or 2 places difference in league position

It could be that he doesn’t have the money as you seem to be implying with your question. Or could it be he does have the money, and would rather not spend it all righting the wrongs and clearing the total amount of debts accrued by the previous owner?
Perhaps he’s seen an opportunity to acquire the club as he sees some potential (Rooney, fan base, academy, infrastructure etc); has a clear plan in place that pays the debts over 3 years at 35p in the pound meaning the club isn’t hamstrung further with additional points deductions and a less restrictive business plan, also meaning he can gradually rebuild the club and pay some of the debts accrued, whilst leaving some money to invest in time as part of this longer term, sensible business plan.

There are only a handful of people who know all the facts of this situation; however, allegedly Kirchner has had to prove his liquidity to the admins and the EFL, both of whom have released statements which, whilst contingent on the massive stadium shaped elephant in the room, say they are satisfied with him becoming the future owner of the club. I appreciate people wanting to stay grounded and be realistic but surely there is currently more call for optimism than there has been in months and months?

I expect Oumar Niasse to be one of our signings.
Rooney wanted him last year but the EFL wouldn't let us sign him.
He went to Burton short term and did well, now unattached.

    Of course we're further forward.
If it were the "2 week extension" that you claim then why didn't they just exchange contracts on Saturday 14th instead of granting 2 day extension to Monday 16th?
Clearly during the additional 2 days the stadium purchase has progressed far enough to give Kirchner the confidence to sign a legally binding purchase agreement.
Now there needs to be an exchange of contracts on the stadium, which the stadium buyer would not sign up to unless DCFC as the tenant had found itself a buyer.
DCFC as the tenant now has a buyer.

Why though? He's clearly determined to engage in a fashion we've literally all demanded of other parties and for most that's a breath of fresh air. Let him just block the fookin melts and engage with the reasonable Twitter audience. It needn't be all or nothing and there are far more fair and balanced posters on Twitter, than raving, self-entitled loons like Paul bloody Ratcliffe esq.

Well my morning glory has extended into the afternoon (but that may be because I have got my pills mixed up again).
Some really good news in the last 12 hours but reading some posts on here you might think differently.  Whether CK has the wherewithal to achieve great things for our Club in the future is anyone’s guess, but to exchange contracts is a huge step and not to be derided or undermined. Yes, let’s not get carried away, but why so many doomsayers want to continue to pick everything apart is beyond me. CK HAS STOPPED THE DOOMSDAY CLOCK. He has shown his commitment. It is now up to Morris/MSD to finalise the stadium sale to some third party, who is supportive of CK’s proposals. Well done CK. I hope this works out for you and us. Up the Rams!

I see the doom-mongers are still scuttling around. The first bit of confirmed progress we've had in months yet they just can't resist putting in their pessimistic comments - you do have to wonder if everything else in their lives is surrounded in negativity.
Most fans who have endured the last couple of years will probably agree that all is not now cut and dried but let's enjoy the fact that at last there is some light at the end of this dark tunnel and it doesn't automatically mean there's a train coming full pelt towards us.
Today is a good day, we've not had many of them recently so for pity sake enjoy it!

Surely people are seeing this the wrong way round?
It's not about us feeling reassured, it's about Chris Kirchner feeling reassured enough that the ground purchase will happen, that has persuaded him to sign up.
He is the one taking all the risks.
We all said that you can't buy a stadium in a few days - heck it's taking months to get a simple house purchase through at the moment - but he must know the money and motivation is there to get the deal completed.

If we get taken over soon, start next season on 0 points & keep the bulk of the squad we have a good chance of being top 6. In theory our current squad is good enough for 15th in the Champ so should be top end League 1 for sure.
So will be interesting to see who stays & who we bring in to strengthen.
The only unknown is the league itself, how quickly can the players & management adapt to it.
