Lawrence works his socks off. The intensity is there. He's also in the form of his life right now, at Derby at least.
We ae not better off without him in any way, shape or form. He is top in both the goals scored and assists made charts, with double the output of the next best.
We do not have 'plenty of players who will score goals to secure wins'. Indeed, without Lawrence, we present almost zero goal threat, save for via corners and set pieces. Save for Festy, Lawrence is also the only player we have with pace enough to get beyond oppo defences.
The only part of your post that makes any sense (just my opinion), is that Curtis should indeed be captain and he and Jags make a strong unit.

If Rooney expects to be manager still next season he neess to get a style of play that can get us promotrd because the current way would not get us up.
After Jan we will have more of an idea of the players who are likely to be here next year & that is when he needs to bring in any youngsters that we feel could make the step up

DCFC1388 reacted to Derbados in Kelle Roos yeah?, he’s gone to Aberdeen init.
He’s a very good shot stopper, but his positional sense, catching and commanding of his box is poor and always has been. No matter the goalkeeping coach, he doesn’t appear able to have the inherent flaws coached out of him.
as a no 2 / 3 he’d be fine at any club in the league and at the price he could leave us for it makes sense

Not really when you have more attacking options in CKR, Jozwiak, Sibley, Watson & even Morrison not starting

3 holding mids in the middle, a RB at RW, a CM at LW & an attacking mid upfront - little wonder we create next to nothing

This has often been touted by Nixon as a £50m deal inc £20m for the stadium (which pays off MSD).
Paying £1.5m (25%) to unsecured creditors and taking on £9m of football liabilities leaves approx £19.5m.
Knock off the admin costs at £3m and £1.5m of additional MSD funding leaves approx £15m as a balance that can be offered to HMRC (50% of what they're owed).
I think this is close to where it will probably end up.
New owner gets a clean club with an "£80m valued" stadium for £50m.
    MSD gets paid in full.
HMRC gets 50% for their new preferential status.
    Unsecureds get 25%.
MM flushes £200m down the tube.

I wonder if a Daily Mail journalist or The Athletic or even someone local may want to ask Middlesborough why they feel they are owed £45 Million and how is that broken down. They dont seem to mind analysing our finances in detail.

How is Mel Morris not under some sort of criminal investigation for this? What an utter disgrace.

Maybe its the difference between being a manager instead of a coach that appeals to him. Most modern day 'managers' are in reality coaches with a Sporting Director/Director of Football being in charge of recruitment/retention of players - that's certainly the pattern at top clubs & the reality is managers are easily disposable in the hunt for short term success.
By contrast, old style 'managers' like Clough, Shankly, Revie etc actually built clubs from the ground up & consequently had more control over their work places as well as increased job protection (although the results clearly helped). To your point, Derby are clearly an absolute mess but the club is both big enough to provide a platform for a lengthy future Premiership stint & is also close to Rooney's North West heartlands. Therefore he leverages his connections to build the playing infrastructure & give him the best possible chance for success. Quite telling Fergie's advice to him was to primarily find a chairman he could work with rather than anything else - I think this project has been ongoing for most of 2021 if rumours are to be believed.
As to points made elsewhere about the suitability of a manager choosing the owners & being 'unsackable' - there will be a base level above which Rooney will have to deliver & an ambitious 3-5 year target. Given the costs involved, its fair to assume Kirchner & co won't just be buying Derby as Rooney's plaything. If he shows himself out of his depth (increasingly unlikely given the experience he is gaining) then they would unquestionably move him on.

But isn't he in with Sam Rush? If you don't like the Rooney/Kirchner relationship then surely the Rush/Wasserman relationship should be just as worrying. In fact, it's partially to blame for putting us in this mess in the first place.

Was during a break in play, he wont be the only person to check their phone during it. Could be any number of reasons too, being in the UK at night would be usual work time in the US so easily could be work/business related too.
Think some people just look for an issue that isnt even there.
