As far as I am aware Wayne Rooney has no coaching qualifications. Why then is he the Manager of DCFC when there are plenty of more qualified people and more experienced people who are already employed by the club. Mclaren, Rosenior, Wassell and Walker are all better qualified and in all probability would do a better job.
The best thing for the club would be for Wayne to walk away, if this isn’t an option gardening leave is probably the best option.

OK, a real mixed bag. The result obviously wasn't good but a good exercise against a team who pressed high, were competitive & keen to game manage - very similar to sides we'll be playing this season. Lets also not forget Salford are highly likely to be finishing top 3 in League Two this coming season (one of the biggest budgets in bottom 2 divisions) so not a massive difference quality wise.
First half we were unfortunate to go in behind. Totally dominated before the goal & even with their tails up after their goal (and pressing higher), we were still able to play through them. Bird was particularly good first half - they struggled to press us effectively because he controlled the tempo & was unafraid to pass through the lines. Carroll & Morrison also had moments of breaking through Salford's midfield but as an overall unit, the intensity wasn't good enough - too many touches, too pedestrian & not enough movement from those further forward. That said, still had a few chances - Aluko should have scored, Morrison unfortunate with header, Carroll should have got his effort on target & there were other instances of decent delivery but not enough bodies in the box.
Poor goal to concede start of the second half (first goal just a fluke - Morrison really unfortunate to concede a penalty) - poor pass from Shinnie & whilst Elliott is good in the air, to rise so easily between McDonald & Wisdom was not good enough - even if you factor in they'd only been on 6/7 mins. Thereafter, we still created chances - Baldock did well with one effort but an atrocious decision to try & pass to Morrison for the near open goal
Positives - felt Jagielka & Stearman looked very solid & rarely troubled, Sibley looked really bright when he came on, good to see Bird playing with such confidence, Forsyth put in some great delivery from left side second half (as did Byrne first half)
As a takeaway, I like how we're trying to play but we need to work on the intensity of our attacking play & one touch stuff - we're not going to open disciplined teams up otherwise. Some of that will be pre-season rustiness & a lot of new faces - we can improve & we will improve.

That really necessary? Comes across as totally disrespectful to a manager who rebuilt the squad from the wreckage of 07/08 & laid the foundations of the playoff campaigns you mention.
Aside from 2014 (with a team Clough largely built), its been a constant stream of choas & decline masquerading as 'excitement'. If we'd have stuck to the slow build, rather than going 'Hollywood' with big name players, first time managers & publicity hungry owner & CEO, we would've been in a much better position today. Anyone who knew of Burton's journey under Clough knew where he was taking Derby.

Disagree the season Mr Clough got sacked we started to play some great stuff the away victory at Yeovil, with the 26 passes before Mr Brysin scored, away to Millwall, when we hit them for 5, some of them players there at the time, believe that we was going somewhere under young Mr Clough and i agree, Clough built the side Steve Mac took to wembley, that team was alot better than we have now, and that's a fact.

Already said the opinion was reasonable...it was the way it was expressed that came across as dismissive to a manager who left us in a better place than he found us & which seems to have riled others too.
As to 'best thing we ever did sacking him' &  thereafter having 'memories to last a lifetime'....a few seasons where we never seriously threatened automatic promotion from the second tier despite massive financial outlay is a million miles from 'great times'. We're Derby, not Brentford or Millwall.
Its largely been a frustrating few years & the expectant/quick to anger mood of the crowd during that period would back that up. The fact we're now paying for that with the current mess is just salt in the wound.

All down to Sam Rush in my opinion. Certainly Mel appointed him but we have all been taken for a mug in some way.
Mr Rush couldn’t wait to get rid of Clough who was managing the team in a sustainable manner and spending Mel’s cash as if it was his own. Sadly this wasn’t enough for the vocal minority, the rest is history.
Perhaps be careful what you wish for…

It's good to touch base on this now and again. Currently we are only guilty after appeal of not flagging up a different amortisation policy to everyone else. Not an illegal one just a different one.
Now, in time, due to the acceptance of the charge, we may be guilty of failing P&S BUT only if in time our resubmissions fail. So, to repeat, at this time we are only guilty of not flagging up a DIFFERENT BUT NOT illegal amortisation policy. BIG DEAL!
I have to keep reminding myself incase I'm going mad.

If we ignore the noise and just look at the facts...
Our punishment for a very limited aspect of the original charges that the EFL raised is a fine of £100,000.
If it weren't for the snidey EFL suggestion that our fixtures are interchangeable with Wycombe's, coupled with the incoherent ramblings of the Wycombe owner & the usual clickbait headlines, then we would be seeing this as a bit of a win.
    Ignore the noise.

chadlad reacted to Dan_Ram in Changing the narrative…
There have been some really valid points on here and elsewhere over the last few days about the conduct of the EFL, not acting in good faith towards clubs, actively seeking to impose punishments that threaten the existence of a member club, not considering impact on both ourselves and Wycombe in terms of planning for the new season, their judgements seeming to be driven by a vendetta against the club, and not to even mention the severe impact this is having on the mental health of supporters from affected clubs. Then we have the arguments around impartiality and bias of the EFL as well as the ethical grounds (considering they previously signed off the accounts) for pursuing this, and as the club have confirmed, doubts of the legality of a points deduction for a technical accounting error.
My point is, tabloids and click bait websites all over the internet just assumes that Derby are guilty and that we deserve every punishment we get. Some of the headlines I’ve seen like ‘championship club caught systematically cheating’ are clearly libellous and misinformed (probably intentionally to gain views)…
… but is there anything we as fans can do to change the narrative?
Why arent any impartial news outlets or investigative journalists criticising or investigating the (at best) shady conduct of a supposed governing body? Surely if found to be true you would have a bigger story on your hands there.

I know plenty of people will say ‘fans won’t be able to achieve anything’ but people laughed when the prospect of going down and supporting the lads on the last day of the season were raised, yet I honestly believe that was the extra 1% that saw us over the line against Wednesday.
I just feel like a little kid watching his older brother getting beaten up by a bunch of thugs, knowing that there’s nothing we can do to help. But is there? Crowdfunding the 100k fine with a damning message regarding the EFL corruption has been suggested, surely banners, protests, chanting against the EFL at the first game is a must? - I don’t know if people have seen the Legia Warsaw Vs UEFA pig banner before..
Time for a bit of fan action against the EFL. What else can we do?

As I understand the situation we have been fined £100,000, in football terms a derisory amount. I would normally call this one hell of a result!
We are also required to resubmit our financial submissions to the EFL taking into account the “correct” method of revaluation of player registrations by the 18th August 2021. This should not be a shock or a surprise to anyone, as soon as the EFL won the appeal it was obvious that this would need to happen. I would imagine that DCFC recalculations were completed some time ago.
Hopefully the revised figures will pass FFP requirements, if not then we face a probable point deduction next season.
However in an attempt perhaps to save face the EFL claims that they have drawn two sets of fixtures allowing Wycombe to replace DCFC in the Championship this coming season, in certain somewhat unlikely circumstances.
I have to ask why they have gone to the trouble of announcing this? There was no need to say anything, they could have kept it quiet. The EFL it seems are intent on destroying our historic club. Few players will even consider signing for us with this knowledge and in these circumstances, relegation this season seems inevitable even without a points deduction and with the possibility of L2 the following season. Certain people it would seem are mindlessly pursuing a personal vendetta against our owner and in the process are willing to destroy one of the football leagues founding members.
Who supervises the EFL? Try Googling it. The answer is seemingly nobody, they can do as they wish - if you don’t like it - tough. My own suggestion is contact your MP, write, email or call, ask him or her to raise a question in Parliament- why not!
I believe that the club has been far too passive, almost submissive so far. Bully’s don’t like it when you fight back.

It's not a lesser charge. It is the same level of transgression as the stadium sale if that had been upheld. The difference is the size of the P&S breach. The stadium could have meant a £25m breach so upto 12 points, plus another 11 if we were seen to have acted belligerently.
The difference in the amortisation policy would only be a couple of million, so any punishment would be far lower - probably not even points, but a couple is a possibility.
I think the fact that the EFL signed off on the policy, that it is a legal accounting method and that it has already been judged within the rules by the original panel means we won't get any punishment at all.

chadlad reacted to DCFC1388 in Louie Sibley
Ive said it before but I dont think Rooney trusts Sibley at the minute. One of Rooneys recent criticisms of the team is needless freekicks being given away and whether he starts or comes off the bench Sibley does this a lot.
Rooney mentioned Sheff W away and Rotherham at home for needless freekicks. Well away at Sheff W i thought Sibley was poor considering how good he was the game before vs Birmingham. But to compound that he gave the needless freekick away which they scored from in a game we were comfortable in and never really looked under much threat.
So, he gets dropped for the next game, Rotherham at home, which a lot of fans werent happy with but I was and knew why. Again, 0-0 Sibley comes on as a late sub and ends up cushioning a back post header back into the 6yard box for them to score and win. No surprise to me we havent seen him since.
So does Rooney start him ahead of Jozwiak/Waghorn/Roberts? I dont think so as I think he can trust their defence game more. Plus when Lawrence is back he will be ahead of Sibley as despite his criticism he puts a shift in defensively.
Does Rooney bring him off the bench? I can only see that happening if we have a 2 goal lead. If we are 1 up or drawing I dont think he would bring him on as points are too important for us at the minute.
The u23s games are where he needs to earn the trust of Rooney again, Rooney will know exactly how good Sibley is ability wise but its the defensive & temperament side of the game he needs to improve.

Paul, first of all I do hope you change your mind and I'm sorry to hear you having a rough time coming off your meds, having recently been placed on medication I have been through similar whilst my body adjusted to being on the stuff, I'm not sure anyone has noticed I have been more inactive than I usually am but this is why.
I haven't really spoke about publicly as rightly or wrongly I still feel slightly embarrassed I have taken the "easy option", being someone that believed with the right mindset you could beat anything, part of me feels like I lost the battle, yet another part of me thinks I have made the best decision I have ever made and feel closer than ever to the people around me that anxiety was slowly pushing away.
You're not alone in words on this forum effecting people both positively and negatively, I have experienced both sides of this on many occasions, last night another negative experience which was brought on by your post.
It's a reason why this forum not only exists but rules are in place where we won't tolerate profanity or insults towards other members, you really don't know what the person behind the username is going through and this forum could be that release they need.
If my integrity is to be questioned, which I accepted it would be when signing the advertising contract with the club, my position was there are other forums available, and I stand by that. At the end of the day I do own and run this forum, whilst it's perfectly acceptable to not like me, disagree with what I say, I will never shy away from giving my opinion for fear of it being questioned.
I acknowledged your reply and apologised if it was meant as a "banter", but as you can see from the topic, others used it as a launchpad to question my integrity. The fact you dropped an angry reaction to my initial post that you replied to did not help with it coming across as "banter", but I truly apologise if that was the intention.
Personally I don't feel like those topics are the right place or time for banter, it's a serious situation, one which I took several hours absorbing before even replying, even now I'm struggling to wrap my head around it and until the court case has concluded I'm not sure it really will. Banter, joking around or even creating chants making light of the situation to me are incredibly insensitive.
