Cheer them on for me, I'm not going as my house is Covid ridden and although I've not tested positive (yet) the last thing I want to do is go to the match then afterwards feel unwell and test positive, especially as I would be sitting with my elderly parents.

I might add some other points later but firstly I'll take you back to 11th December 1982, Fulham away. We had a poor team but were on a high as Peter Taylor had recently return binging Archie Gemmill back, and having just signed Bobby Davison. I can't actually remember much about the game, we lost, Bobby made his debut from the bench. I went on a junior rams coach, a couple of things stick in my memory. We arrived early and wasn't allowed off the coach. Someone spotted a huge dog turn on the street, a game developed where we shouted at the passing Fulham fans as they passed to make them look up at us rather than down at the turn. There was a stream of oohs as the Fulham fans nearly stepped in the turn, until one did to a huge goal like celebration.
On the way back it was the FA cup draw, everyone was shushed as the balls were drawn Derby came out of the hat first, a home draw. Then came Forest, the atmosphere on the coach became electric, Derby v Forest. Although the kids were excited at our age the gravity of the draw passed us by a bit. It wasn't until I saw the back page of the paper next day I realised it was nationaly significant draw. We then pullen in to a services where a Derby coach had broken down, they were trying to get everyone home by sneaking a few onto each passing Derby coach. We picked up some lads (from Ripley?) who told us tales of 80's style football action and lead the singing on the way home.

I think "most people" who don't understand football regard Derby County as not important.
Unfortunately the most people are the ones that support the so called big teams that have become big by the most people and the most people pay the most money to watch their big teams that have the most buyers to buy their team that has the most players all loaned out to smaller teams that eventually have to give back these players to the big teams where they become bigger players and earn bigger wages and the most people discuss these big teams all the time on all the big media stations and the big money gets bigger and bigger as the big teams get to play all around the world in brand new cup competitions so the most people get to become even more, and even more and whilst the big teams get bigger and bigger, then the little teams become littler and littler and get eaten up by most people who are far too greedy, far too selfish, far too oblivious, arrogant, ignorant too even notice little Bury FC.............and then down the chain comes along little Derby County the worst team in the Premier League, because that's all they know or want to know thesedays or what they are spoonfed from our media channels about little Derby County. Even when the football killers Sky Sports rolled up into little Derby for the Birmingham City game their cameras missed our 10,000 protest march, because it was more important for them to show Neil Warnock telling their most people audiance that pay big money to watch it, how Neil Warnock thinks Wayne Rooney will not get an easier job, then managing Derby County this season! Absolute Crass! a manager that said on the radio, how he would love the Watford job, as they sack you after 3 months and you receive a very nice pay off...........Absolute Crass!
Yeah I love the underdog. I love Derby County.........but I'm not most people, I'm one of not many, but Derby County are important to some people and that is good enough for me!
Unfortunately.........we are not that important........to most people!

Despite the gloom we need to get our heads up. The cards were dealt way back. Let’s get this out of our system and turn up at PP on Saturday with dignity and pride. It isn’t over yet. 

My ticket arrived, phew. I hope I have a better time than my last two visits, the playoff game and the waterlogged pitch when we arrived at the ground before realising the game was off.
