Wsm-ram reacted to taggy180 in Cheltenham Town (A) Sat 14th Jan
Great to see having knight back in midfield has brought the best out of hourihane and Birdinhio, his energy and tenacity to there ball playing skills. Knight is a massive player for run in now he's fit. Also what a signing korey Smith experience and versatility and then Louis Sibley on the other flank league 1 and change of position has been the making of him. Keep it going Paul warne and lads ?

Who are being punished?
The fans? Wasn’t our fault.
Clowes? Wasn’t his fault, in fact, he should be rewarded
This punishment serves a regime that is long long gone and does nothing more. It’s pathetic.

None of these can play centre forward to be honest. Dobbin will miss 3 chances in 4, NML is close control and beating a player and Barkhuizen has played a few up top for Preston and has said he hasn't the build for it and was rubbish. We really need a striker with quick feet as an option. Two would be better.

Waghorn ticks a lot of boxes. 3rd choice CF (as per Nugent in the Lampard season), and gives us an extra option on the wing. He also knows the club and a number of people still here so would settle very quickly.
Jordan Hugill would offer strong competition for the CF spot, but we'd still need someone on the wing. Probably short on fitness and would take a while to get up to speed.
Dilan Markanday (wimger at Blackburn) hasn't played in the league yet this season, but scored 2 in the Cup. Scored 12 in 14 for Spurs U21s in 21/22 before moving to Blackburn.

Wsm-ram reacted to GangwayD in Curtis Nelson - joined on a 2 year deal
This is exactly right. I can’t see any of the three players mentioned being here next season.
if it’s not Nelson then we have to be looking for replacements for next seasons squad whilst bringing in this window what we need now, which is certainly a Right Back and a replacement for Asula.
Of course we could wait for Summer but competition for players will be significantly increased.
Cheers

On Radio Derby... Paul Warne says that the team is eager to take on information. He's getting through to them and getting a big response. The players are buying into it. All players helping each other.
Something is definitely working .

Best balance so far ,, I’ve been onside with the warne for rosenior switch from the start ( rosenior not terrible though ) , liked the idea of getting the ball forward with intent much faster and far far less piddling about but to be fair making that change can easily give the impression that warne wants long ball and frantic with no control and passing ,
it’s been improving and today for me was by far the best balance of getting it forward but also mixing it up and keeping the ball for spells keeping control of the game and the game management being clear to see
come on derby ?, really enjoying this whole rebuild of the club and the team from top to bottom , it just has a healthy feel around the whole club and how we are going about things

A fine performance, another clean sheet. The fight, the spirit and now the football this team shows, is nothing short of amazing, considering where we were in the summer. Derby County is on the rise again. UTR

To quote Radio Derby... 'Something special is building...'
There is pride, togetherness, commitment. Man of the Match? Could have been several.
So proud of the players, the staff and the fans. Brilliant result. Well done, Paul Warne and David Clowes.

Shout out to Rooney, class performance.

David Clowes you feckin genius. Had my doubts about Warne, but how wrong I was. The most dominant performance of the season and against one of the better sides in the league too. Made them look like proper plodders and yet another clean sheet too.

Ball No. 8 folks. Before Man City game. Always love a draw when we’re in it. And Dirties have just conceded.

Wsm-ram reacted to Carl Sagan in Barnsley (H) (FACR3) Sun 8th Jan, 12:30 KO
The Barnsley body language is awful. They know they have been utterly outclassed and can't wait for the game to finish. A really dominant performance that reeks of automatic promotion if we can maintain this level. Importantly achieved without McGoldrick pulling the strings.

Makes sense. Not quite up to what we require. Good luck to him.

With Osula and Stretton gone, I would imagine a CF is our top priority

Must have just wanted a farewell with Derby fans, before going home, all the best to him ???

Big Trav has been pretty good and just passes on what he hears. Occasionally things change. Would you rather no one passes on what they hear?

Wsm-ram reacted to RoyMac5 in Mr William Osula
Like Sibs previously, never given a decent run in the team. But he's still young and in a couple of years when he's developed physically he'd be a better proposition.

Wsm-ram reacted to Ambitious in William Osula
Not hugely surprised. He had his moments, but lacked craft and quality to really step up for us and earn a place in the team. I could see him being a decent option for a team further down the league and play more regularly.
We will definitely need to bring someone in to replace him.

Wsm-ram reacted to samtheram83 in McGoldrick
He looked very fit and sharp yesterday. Pressed a lot more in the first half than I was expecting and really battled. All of that on top of some lovely silky skills. He was quality!

Wsm-ram reacted to Ambitious in Graeme Shinnie
Wigan fans do like Shinnie, from what I can gather, not sure what has happened there with him. I would like him back, good character, good player and can fill in a number of places. We aren't blessed with the greatest depth so someone like Shinnie would be great.
