Disagree to an extent. There are a few people on here, myself included, who have been voicing concerns over the issues we perceived since as early as last season. None of those issues have gone away and the club have done very little to change my mind.
This isn't some mindless knee-jerk reaction. For a lot of people it's simply that there is only so much paper you can put over the cracks before you run out.
Plenty of people advocated for time, which is fair enough, but Warne has had over a year at this point and the same issues keep cropping up.

darren22 reacted to JuanFloEvraTheCocu'sNesta in Warne Out Out
I posted a version of this in the match thread but it belongs here I think. I'm Warne out, I have been all season really. Even in our run of form performance levels were frequently poor and we rarely look like a team in control of a football match.
The simple fact is Warne thinks he can approach the Derby job with good vibes and percentage based kick and rush football down the flanks that offers little control. There's not really any nuance to it and any manager with half a brain can figure it out and counter it.
Despite the above, we have brute forced a number of wins by having better players and a bigger budget than the opposition. If we get promoted we won't have better players and a bigger budget than the opposition. What do we do then?
I maintain that a manager with a more advanced approach to football and how to set a team up would extract better performances out of this team, and the deficiencies I see in Warne's approach will only become more of a problem as time goes on.

Perfect is stretching it. I think they just expect us to have 1 shot on target in a league 1 match and not put in such abject performances when the players we have are better than the players most in the division have…

Dreadful performance. I don’t even know where to start, so won’t bother, but I will say I feel for the fans that went tonight.
The last few weeks have been rotten to watch, performances have been really bad. Too much emphasis on results, rather than performances have seemingly led us down the wrong path. Standards need to be so much better than they currently are.
I’m still very much concerned that the people currently employed by the club don’t have the necessary skillset to achieve long-term. The recruitment and coaching is miles off where it needs to be, for me. I have no doubt that even if we did get promoted this season, we would be in for a long season next year which is a niggling thought that I can’t shake.
Obviously nothing I can do to change the decisions the club make so I’ll continue to support (and moan) as it plays out. I hope I’m wrong, honestly, because I want success for Clowes and I’d like Derby to be seen as a relevant football team on the national stage again.

I'm calling to sack Warne. He's obviously got no idea how to extract consistent performances out of this squad and either thinks the way we play is fine, or he doesn't know how to change it. Not sure which of those options is more concerning to be honest.
Even on our great run of form we only ever looked truly convincing a few times. Performances have, in the main, been rubbish for a majority of the season.

Bet they loved the EFL when we sold Shinnie for 30k to cover Jagielkas wage till May.  Then we were told we couldn't keep him, whilst they were allowed to change their management team, resign Carroll and bring in 4 loans.  Bet they loved em when they were allowed to bring in 5 players at the start of this season as well.

I've been on the lash all day in Belper so bear with...not a punch or a kick thrown 😉
Were there innocents hurt...yes there was, Far too many that weren't reported as it was a common occurrence, Heysel, Hillsboro, Bradford saw some horrendous deaths due to Fans, Police and old stadia...who's to blame?
Danny Dyer oh please...a manufactured programme to put him in the limelight of being a "hard case" there were a good few from the Neptune who didn't want the DLF on his programme but some of the more high profile DLF crowd won the day...it was embarrassing...imo. Books were written of embellished journeys through the lives of "football hooligans" the Brimsons from Watford were the 1st to put pen to paper, They looked the part but as they say "the pen is mightier than the sword" both a pair of fantasists.
Life is not worth losing for a game of football...it's mind boggling that this could happen, But lives are lost every weekend in towns up and down the Country...age teaches you one thing...to learn and listen to others, What happened 30-40-50 years ago through football was something we did as others did, Nothing to be proud or ashamed of it was a life that some chose to follow.
I'll end with this...I loved the 70s-80s made so many friends that you could re float the Titanic with them all, Today...I'm just an old fella that's still has his memories...and I'll share them with anyone who would like to hear them.
Enjoy your weekend of what's left...I will ☺️

Well that wasn’t worth freezing my tits off for but at least I can say I got to an EFL Trophy game this season to go with my game last season although this was nowhere near as enjoyable as our win over Grimsby (my last EFL trophy game). I viewed this as a real opportunity to get to Wembley and I’m bitterly disappointed we haven’t grasped it. However, I sincerely hope this is the last ever EFL trophy game we ever play and I’m pleased we can now fully focus on the league.
So many weren’t at it tonight, thought Sonny did ok, along with Nelson Wilson cash when he came on and Collo, everyone else may as well have not been there. Thommo Sibs and Fornah didn’t grasp their opportunity although thought it was slightly harsh on Sibs to be subbed, thought he was at least trying to make things happen.
I have serious concerns about Ward Fornah and Vickers. Not sure they are good enough.

Ward is a wannabe David Beckham, can’t defend or tackle, no pace no trick likes the Hollywood cross but 9 times out of 10 straight into the keepers arms. Predictable, not dangerous.
Vickers looks very uncertain, he flaps I worry about his positional sense he’s dodgy playing out from the back and he even makes simple saves look Hollywood. Maybe Warne wanted him to bring a bit more Disney to the team. Not for me. Get Wildsmith back in ASAP.
Fornah is a real enigma. Technically and athletically brilliant, that tackle pirouette run and pass in the first half was a thing of beauty. However despite strength and power he can get pushed off the ball easily, his positional discipline tonight was horrific,  and whenever he made a tackle or a pass he then stops ball comes back to him and he’s on his heels leading him to get beaten to the ball or closed down to the point where he’s forced to tackle, misplace a pass or pass backwards. Really poor and playing like that I can’t see any way he gets into the team.
Hope we react positively to this and continue our form in the league and this will be quickly forgotten but please Derby, get promoted never come back here and never play in this godforsaken competition ever again.

I thought I'd start a new thread as it was starting to get discussed in the watchable telly thread.
I haven't watched the ITV drama yet but I will.
I was aware of the story, but not especially as it happened when we were living in the US and I had no clue it ran into hundreds of people with each one being told nobody else had other issues.
This is looking like the biggest scandal/cover-up of our time with a lot of people complicit. I hope the duckers who ok'ed this at the highest level get sent down.

Was pretty hacked off with the way he conducted himself under Cocu, but he did redeem himself with me after that being an absolute rock for the club through some very dark times. As such, I bear the man no ill will really, far from it. That said, watching Brum implode has been hilarious, which on reflection, only serves to make me appreciate Wazza even more.
On a serious note, management clearly does not suit him in any shape or fashion, he looks terrible and is aging rapidly. High time he stepped back, minded himself a bit and spent some time with the family, I reckon.

I'll always appreciate the way Rooney conducted himself in that administration season (in public at least), and I don't really begrudge him leaving when he did because it was always going to be a tough sell to him to stay on.
    However,
This is very funny. Mostly because it's Birmingham City who in my view are one of the most deluded, bitter, tinpot, nonsense clubs in the footballing pyramid. Permanently trapped in their nearest rivals shadow and utterly deluded as to their standing in the game. A crumbling stadium half full with idiot fans.
So, thank you agent Rooney for the top tier destroy and exit job. Excellent work.

Personally I like Steve Bloomer's Watching. I agree with many of the problems you've highlighted with the song, but I like that we have our own song about club legend rather than recycling other clubs' chants or crap pop songs. The idea that a f****** U2 guitar riff of all things would inspire or intimidate anyone is unbelievably quaint.

Oxford definitely the architect of their own downfall. They put it in neutral and whacked on the handbrake after 15 mins and couldn’t get it into first for the remainder of the game. That said, we obviously didn’t let them either. We remained patient. Brilliant end to it.

Ego, Narcissism call it what you like, He spunked millions on high profile people one a proven manager two who wanted to give it a go, Lampard came with Uncle Harrys blessing and it nearly paid off...then pretty boy fecked off to good old London Town leaving us in a mess, Cocu picked up the pieces but unfortunately trying to make a team out of bits n bobs proved hopeless, Rooney pushed his way in with the help of Stretford his manager, Houdini, Paul Daniels and Tommy Cooper couldn't help us by then, MM saw the writing all over PPs walls, Covid killed him, Nowt coming in and millions going out.
He prayed that he could sell to any Rag Tag and Bobtail that would stick around long enough to show they had millions in an offshore bank account, Courting wanna be buyers...any buyers as DCFC became a busted flush, Finally he bailed, He walked out of the Casino with hunched shoulders and empty pockets...picked up a free sandwich on his way out and home to Sandy Banks on the South Coast.
I guess he gave us a little hope, But there's posters who have come and gone on here that know the story better than me, Just an old boy that's seen the glory days...but just glad there's still a Derby County ☺️

Is there a law against not rating a manager? I'm not a fan of Southgate for what it's worth, some really rate him and think he's achieved stuff with England. By all means disagree with my opinion, but tell me why, not what you think of me!
I don't rate Warne's management style and that will not change unless he does. I do enjoy Derby winning, so that's all there is to it.

    I found that very frustrating.
Trying to get players sent off by feigning injury is pathetic in my opinion. It’s a shame Collins didn’t just go over to him and do him over and actually give him a reason to writhe about on the floor. in my opinion the referee was all about proving to the premier league that she won’t be swayed by the home crowd and as a consequence gave us nothing. The way Taylor completely ignored her and brushed her aside when told to go off towards the East Stand shows that she didn’t have control.
That being said we ultimately didn’t win against a really poor team because we were crap, ponderous in possession and lacked any sort of plan. Too many didn’t turn up. Too many showed why they play in the 3rd division. A very disappointing and frustrating afternoon.

Very angry and frustrated tonight!! Genuinely thought we’d done it with a scrappy 1-0 when not at our best playing a team of anti-footballers, then the penalty, right in front of me, absolutely no way in my view, she looked at the Lino who didn’t give then pointed to the spot anyway. I agree with those saying it’s a 2023 penalty but I’d also say it’s one that VAR would give one week then not give it the next. It was extremely soft but then poor defending from Ward and not for the first time today.

As for Rebecca Welch, this is the third time she’s reffed us. She was excellent the first time, good the second, horrendous today. Managed the game really poorly making a rod for her own back with those early nonsensical yellow cards for Sibley and Mendez-Laing. The Collins Leahy (who is a proper Bamford by the way) handbags could’ve avoided 2 bookings easily, there were two challenges after then on Derby players which were stonewall yellow cards not given, ironically when the crowd shouted you don’t know what you’re doing after the Bird yellow, that decision was spot on, it was the poor decisions prior that contributed to ruining the game. The only time she was consistent was booking vokes for the same offence as Sibley, which then left her a problem when he booted a Derby player in the face, she could’ve easily sent Vokes off for two bookings but that would’ve been a bad call IMO. Genuinely thought she was a class act but take it all back after today, she’s as useless as the usual rabble of officials we get week in week out at this level. Definitely no worse, we’ve had worse refs this season.

Thought we tried to play today but the players weren’t quite at it. Wildsmith Cashin Ward Hourihane Sibley all below par. Ward I thought really struggled and I’m surprised he stayed on.
Still unbeaten in 6, we were never going to win 10-12 in a row which we would need to do to get the results we want over Christmas and New Year where maximum points will be really useful to us. A win on Thursday sets us up nicely for some tricky Christmas fixtures.
