I never mentioned lazy anywhere in any of my posts on this subject.
All the players tried their best but it wasn’t enough .
For what my opinion is worth I think Warne will take us to the playoffs despite Saturdays result as Posh still have Ipswich and Barnsley to play .
Warne is our manager and has a 4 year contract.
    I will back Warne

Somehow, "Shetland" passed us by completely over the years, so we're enjoying catching up with it now on iPlayer.
Very good, though I prefer the shorter (2-parter) stories from the first couple of series, to the 6 parters later on.

Derby County badly need continuity. As long as the team competes and tries to entertain, I'm very content. Some of the Warne football has been dire, however I think this will definitely improve next season.
After everything the club has been through, we need to breathe and just slow down. As much as I want Derby to destroy MK Dons and Burton 6-0, the outlook is we're a club coming out of the worst period of it's history. As Mr Clowes says, it's long term and stabilisation which need to be the key focus.
As much as I want to be in the Premier League challenging the big boys, I'm quite content. I've had 3 trips to the New Wembley, been to see us beat Manchester United at their ground, beating Leeds in the play offs and watching them cry all the way home, hammering Forest in a 5 nil whitewash. That's been in the space of 10 years. How many other clubs have had that much fun? Granted, I know it's not the same as the good times of the 70s and 90s. I'm in my early 30s, I don't remember winning most weeks in the Premier League. This is all I've known.
I went on a tangent. The main point for me is Paul Warne needs time and his heart is in the right place. Definitely give him at least a full season to judge his abilities.

Come on then. Let's get rid of our latest manager and get in another. How has that worked out over the last 5 or 6 seasons? For goodness sake let's have some stability and give the guy a chance. Instant success is very rare these days. He has inherited a misfit team of loyal youngsters who just happened to be mid contract,  a couple who signed a new contract and a bunch of freebies and loanees. None of which he had a say in.
     Give the guy a chance.

Knight has a lot of qualities but he will not be a PL player until he shows he can score goals regularly.
2 goals is a really poor return for a player of his style. One of which was a header from a corner while playing right back.

Having a night sleep to take everything in, 25+ shots and plenty of possession will win you most matches. Law of averages and all that jazz. You'd have to be very unlucky and/or really awful at finishing not to get 3 points. Since the start of 2023, we've heavily relied on Didzy's goals and even when he does score, the lack of goal contributions around the squad has been terrible, meaning Derby can't get over the line. I think that's been a long term problem for the past 4/5 years, even with a complete overhaul of the squad. Nowhere near enough goals. 6th most goals in the  league sounds decent on paper however with the amount of talented players on the field, who have proven to score goals at this level, we should be top 3 easily. It seems to me this team look absolutely knackered by 60mins, only against the poorer sides do Derby look like they can complete a full game without completely falling apart.
Defensively I think we've been solid enough this season. A few howlers here and there but we've had 20 clean sheets which is very respectable. As many posters have pointed out, the game management which was key to PW's success has vanished in the last 3-4 months and ultimately this, the fatigue in the older players (not enough rotation in my view), has put the brakes on our promotion push. We were talking about how we could go for an unlikely top 2 finish with the momentum the team built. Now we're struggling to even make the playoffs.
If we've now built a solid relationship with the EFL, freeing the shackles on transfer policy, the manager has the summer to recruit some of his players. Only then I think it's fair to judge him. The squad we currently have is top 10, the lack of quality in depth around certain areas has been exposed. I think many supporters keep forgetting the teams above us have either had time to gel as a group and the managers have been with the team at least 2 seasons (Ferguson dips in and out at Boro). I'm still hopeful, with less EFL restrictions, we'll be challenging for the top next season.

I am still muttering to myself about their no 33 feigning injury for third time and rolling onto the pitch to do so and ref and linesman just let him. So disappointed we let 2 points go yesterday but all of the "gamesmanship" and decisions leave such a nasty taste after the game.
At least their contingent in directors box thought was hilarious, one in particular.

My biggest frustration yesterday was that we lost control of the game in the second half after the howling for penalties. It was still 1-0. We needed a calm head to get everyone re focused and have a solid 5 minutes.
But no, we left the back door open for an equaliser against such an inferior opponent.
The basis of our long unbeaten run was clean sheets. If we could get back to keeping clean sheets we’d make the play offs easily. The basis of our recent poor run has been conceding really poor goals including the one yesterday.
We should have won 1-0 which would have been a good result.
If we miss out on the play offs it will be down to ourselves and no one else.
The priority signing for the summer in my view is a strong leader on the pitch with a calm head respected and listened to by the other players. Either a centre half or centre mid.

I know this must be said time and time again but if it wasn’t for our current owner we wouldn’t exist. Moving forward we must take small steps. I think our hands are tied with a lot of things and the fact we are competing at the top end is an achievement.
I want us up asap but let’s put things into perspective and just be happy we still have a club.

Terrible result today, but with that domination on any normal day, we'd have won easily. 28 attempts 7 on target which is 2 more than peterborough and Wycombe put together. 10 off target, including one that hit the post and 11 blocked, of which any could have deflected in. That's not including a number of poor decisions made when in good positions. If we could repeat those stats in the remaining 5 games, surely the luck will turn.
We played some decent football for the first time in weeks, hopefully we can build on that.

I should have said, I thought Sibley looked really hungry, effective and positive when he came on. Some great dribbles, persistence and he is looking stronger too. I reckon by next season he will be ripe and ready to be a key player.

''Small club mentality'' give over. Define what that actually means. You haven't ever actually provided an evidence backed statement against Warne, you just make vague none statements like the above that don't actually mean anything. He got Rotherham promoted plenty of times, and there is no reason at all why he couldn't do the same here.

Blame the manager, tactics, the lineup, referee, time wasting, atmosphere and no chips in the East Stand, when you have 28 shots and score just 1 goal, either you have not been good enough or the keeper has had a worldy of a game.
    The keeper didn't.

Good points about the perception of those young players as seasoned pros outside of the club, they’ve all played a fair few games of senior football due to a combination of their talents and Mel’s implosion of the club that they’re probably seen by outsiders as older than they are.
I really don’t get this assumption that Sibley has been poorly treated and that Warne doesn’t rate him.
Warne has given Sibley way more appearances this season than previous managers have done and always speaks highly of him. Your point about it being “fashionable to use goalscorers as defenders” ignores the reality of the situation. Sibley was used as a defender through necessity and did a very good job there, which must play into the “why” of Warne using him there, he knows Sibley can do a job for the team in that role and uses him as such.
You keep professing that Sibley’s best position is further forward, he undoubtedly carries a goal threat, but 4(?) managers have now decided not to use him regularly in that role, they must have reasons for that that us fans simply don’t see.
Put yourself in Warne’s shoes for a moment, you’ve got to get Sibley in his best role as you suggest in our current squad, what formation would you use?
