Gringo got a reaction from ColonelBlimp in My thoughts if I was David Clowes
The decision on Warne's future is a little way off being made yet, but putting myself in David Clowes position my thought process would be as follows.
The results have been poor and the performances worse, and the fans are going apoplectic, however being logical about this I need to not knee jerk into making a rash decision.
I may have underestimated the challenge facing Warne, but his previous track record in getting out of this division was excellent and I should trust my initial judgement, but if things don't improve the crowds will drop and that will be a financial and personal disaster.
The manager needs to understand how serious his and the clubs position is and he needs to be given a set of targets he has to hit to avoid the termination of his role these should be,
An immediate improvement in performances, team structure and tactics. 4 wins in next 10 games minimum  No more stupid press interviews Crowds must not drop below 20,000, this should not be a problem if 1. is rectified Any fall into the relegation zone will be instant termination I have always found that people work best if they understand what is required of them and they know the owners expectations, I would suggest there have been conversations already and the bar man at last chance saloon is pouring a last drink.
I write this with having a reputation of being intolerant of poor performing subordinates and of course I might be wrong on this occasion.

    What he said in his interview was the truth, he has set Paul Warne a budget and it is a budget that he (Clowes) believes is enough to get promotion from this division. Here’s the quote again;
"Paul has been given a budget, I think a good budget for League One that is good enough to get us out of the league. But it's football and nothing is guaranteed."
There is no lie there, it’s a statement that a budget has been set and an expression of his personal belief that it’s a competitive budget, with a caveat that nothing is guaranteed.

The number of people who actually dislike Warne vs the number you perceive to dislike Warne will be vastly different. It's posts exactly like the two you just put up that will get people arguing with you, which you'll probably then take as meaning that said poster has some genuine ill-feeling toward Warne!
    Your posts contained...
    - An overblown romanticism about Warne's spell in charge so far and an unwillingness to accept that there was anything he could improve on (even though he himself has taken responsibility for some errors you'd likely claim weren't errors!).
    - An inability to assess one manager without slagging off another, using equally exaggerated tropes that don't really hold true to what we were doing and conveniently ignores any good football seen under previous managers. (This might also come across as you blaming previous managers for any failings on Warne's part)
    - Comparisons which don't really hold any weight, by virtue of not taking the level of opposition into consideration.
    - Telling people who complain about his style that they "don't know what they're talking about"  etc

All of which will help turn a reasoned conversation about the pros and cons of Warne's management into a horrible fractious little debate.

TNT (used to be called BT Sport) appear to be favourites
FYI Apple have just paid $2.5 billion for the rights to broadcast the MLS games over here, so Sky are talking BS, Rams v Leeds in the Championship would get 1,000% more viewers globally than Brighton v Crystal Palace in the Premiership. Sky don't want the competition from the EFL being broadcast professionally.

Even more vital the Rams get into the championship with a new TV deal incoming, quick calculation, any new deal would be worth about $25m per season to the Rams as opposed to the bag of chips and a used condom we are getting in Division 1.

His work rate for 90 minutes his phenomenal. As he is putting himself about for the full 90 minutes, it means defenders lose their concentration and it creates chances. This has been seen multiple times this season.
I saw on multiple occasions last night, he got the ball into feet, played it out wide and then went full sprint into the box. He was doing this time and time again. He often makes his runs to the back post - and some of our crossing hasn't been great.
Then defensively, he's a monster in our box. He's being given one of the most important defensive heading roles (the free man in the middle) - again - he wins a lot of headers in our box.
It all goes together. If we're winning as a team, and we generally are, then his spot is earnt even without the goals.
What I liked last night - when he missed that chance in the 93rd minute - no-one got on his back - 90% of people in the East stand applauded him. These are the types of fans I want.
He's not even close to being dropped in my eyes - his all-round play is immense, just a goal or two will keep the doom mongers away.

The reason that the BBC are doing it is because they are continuing their strategy of trying to appeal to younger people - younger than you @David and certainly younger than me who they are not bothered about in any way. They believe that they have to attract a young audience at all costs. The fact that I, in my mid 60s and with a history and habit of listening to the radio all day every day, might like the concept of Sports Report, the classic signature tune and someone reading the classified football results from all 6 leagues in England and Scotland is anathema to the modern BBC. It’s why Radio 5 is like it is - full of young people with no experience, with their nicknames and in jokes, largely incapable of stringing two sentences together never mind analysing a football match, and a fixation on the PL as being all that football is about. It’s why I’ve largely stopped listening, not that they care, to anything that the radio station produces and why I’ve long since stopped watching BBC tv.
There was a time when I would have gone to the barricades to defend a free to air public broadcaster like the BBC. Not any more.

If someone has slow onset dementia, has never touched a computer or used the complexity of a phone enjoying the huge amount of data and copious remotes to go with it is irrelevant. My grandma was set up with all singing, all dancing TV.  She put's on Radio Derby and watches The Chase.  There will be something far more comforting clicking a button to put on a radio in the comfort of their room than getting frustrated with surround sound, hundreds of channels etc .  Vinyl was outdated, Now people can't get enough.  A radio service, like public libraries, is fundamental to any educated society that cares without the oversaturation of subject you get online or interactive and more important provides access via another route to all.

Yes because the blind and the old who have not got access to a readable phone/iPad/pc don’t count as part of society do they, why should they have access to football scores on their radios.
The BBC have lost the plot yet again.

I am pleased that the only thing holding society back is the football results being read out on national radio at 5.00pm, I thought it was the idleness of the modern generation who expect everything handed to them on a plate with no work involved, I assume also that you do not plan on getting old and having any kind of disability, good for you!
Finally what is a "cash radio" I have used the google machine but cannot find any reference too one.
    Have a nice day.
