Get 11 full size plastic dummies and make them look like our best players from the past. Attach them to rods with handles at the end. Then install them across Pride Park and get a coach to work each handle during the matches. No spinning allowed though.

Sure I read rumours of him being linked with the Dutch National team job.

No I didn't say that. Rooney was meant to help with communicating what Cocu wanted, if the message wasn't clear then Rooney should have said something. As Rooney said himself, he was the link between the management and the players. So if the players were confused why hasn't it been said to Cocu, Twan and Chris that they didn't understand, why didn't the players say to Rooney we don't understand, what didn't Rooney say that they didn't understand?
I could see what we were trying to do under Cocu, I could see what the plan was, but he got dealt a poo hand, didn't have a proper pre season with the squad, he didn't have a proper transfer window and was hampered by injuries to key players. The players he bought were nearly all improvements on who they replaced. The youth players were managed correctly, and were improving consistently, when the football clicked last season it was brilliant to watch, at times it didn't and it was slow and ponderous and frustrating, but that annoyed Cocu as much as the fans.
Everyone sees what they want to see, you didn't like Cocu but you do Rooney, I liked Cocu but not Rooney. Rooney could change my mind but Cocu will never change yours now, unless he was crazy enough to come back (which won't happen).

Amazing how the right suddenly hate the free market forces when it isn't going their way, huh?
I've been watching a few clips here and there - I try and balance the 'free and diverse media', as Mr Dowden puts it - and I don't find them to be the anti-establishment, breath of fresh air they claim to be.
But then, as someone who leans to the left of the political spectrum, and pretty sure Dan Wootton would call me woke/snowflake/liberati/metropolitan elite/virtue-signalling/socialist and say its not aimed at me.
Did enjoy them falling into the classic elephant traps of Mike Hunt, Mike Oxlong, and Hugh Janus though. Even one presenter having to implore people to stop emailing in with the last one. All told it looks a little college-project, which considering its a startup is to be expected, although didn't they have about £60m behind them at one point? I guess it doesn't buy much these days.

These activists, if they actually care about their fellow humans, should concentrate their boycotts against corporations who really damage   ordinary people. They should go for the Fire and Rehire brigade and NHS privateers.
Doing what they do keeps the important stuff off the agenda and enables the dividers to win.

GB news has 100% record of losing Tory seats now.
Maybe the neglected segment are the socially liberal and centre right on economics.
The people who worry that the UK becoming internationally isolated because we deliberately break treaties is more important than some 19 year olds removing a picture of the queen in their common room.
Or woke Marxists as they are usually known as.

Seriously, does anyone actually sit down to watch TV news anymore?
To me this just seems like a service that could have launched successfully 10 years ago, but with streaming TV I don't remember the last time I sat down to watch TV news.
    Am I unusual?

Watched a bit of it this evening. Not only has it got horrible production values, being told it’s anti establishment whilst hosting the likes of Alan sugar, neill and newspaper editors it’s of course ridiculous.

it also claims that ‘ordinary people don’t care what’s on Twitter’ but then starts talking about a social media campaign against James corden who was being accused of degenerating Asian cuisine. Then bizarrely linked it to wet markets in wuhan....
The populist right telling us over and over again how they’re silenced in the media even when their views are expressed daily in the most popular tabloids, on the radio and now on their own channel.
It has no sense of impartiality and from what I’ve seen so far has no interesting talking points either.
just the constant point being made that they’re anti-woke.

Really excited by these lads. In a shitty season it's been easy to overlook the steady line of talent rolling off the academy production line. I've banged in endlessly about Ebosele, but no apologies on that score. I think the kid is destined for big things. Nothing lightweight about him and he'll be smashing the big lads off the ball and screaming up the flanks in no time. I can see him terrorising a few experienced FBs this season.
Louis Watson oozes class to my eye and I just hope he's managed properly this season. He's a kid who seems to always find time on the ball and always looks up the pitch too.
Stretton looks as natural as striker as we've seen come through in a long while and I'm hoping in what may be another tough season, these lads can give us something to cheer.

It doesn't matter how low we've got, or much further we sink,  I still don't want us to sign Adomah. Never have, never will. I'm not 100% sure of why that is, I've just never rated him, at all, and it genuinely surprises me when he has a decent run of goals.
The decent run always fades away though, he always seems to end up out of favour pretty quickly. I remember him being kept entirely in the pocket of a 35 year old Chris Baird a couple of years ago, who probably had one of the easiest games of his life.
As for the CKR comparison - It's one thing being called a journeyman for going off on your travels around the world, playing in multiple leagues, experiencing different cultures etc and then using what you've gained to become a stronger person and player, it's another thing knocking around the same league for years never really changing or developing - CKR is a much better player at 34 than he was at 30, I doubt Adomah is a better player at 33 than he was at 28.
