Not fully sure what the protocol is, but noticed no one else started a new matchday thread after the QPR loss. So I thought I'd start my first one and see if I can be a lucky charm.
I hope I can go on a long run creating these threads, starting with a trip down to Bristol to play the City's second team.
3pm on Saturday (a kick off time that should please all the ones who moan about matches getting moved for the telly).
Will Lawrence continue his fine form? Will that guy who knows more about Derby's accounting policy than anyone else in the entire world be fizzing by full time? Will we still be in with a shout of survival at 5pm on Saturday?

I think the problem is we were under embargo (and currently still are until a new owner comes in) when we signed him on a pro contract. He is eligible for the U23s but can’t be registered for the first team until we are out of embargo.

Gutted to lose that. 3 great finishes all in the same corner of the same net tonight.
Thought we did some things well but we lucked any cutting edge with Morrison not really contributing like we know he can. He plays better deeper, but the 3 there at the moment are combining well together.
QPR take off Charlie Austin and replace him with Andre Grey. We can only dream of having that sort of strength in depth right now.
We made attacking subs to go and win the match and it didn’t work out. We can’t afford to keep drawing matches anyway, so we need to keep going for it. We’ll lose some more this way, but hopefully we’ll take our chances more often than not and bag some points.

There are only 4 teams in the league that have lost less games than we have. The 5 teams immediately above us have all lost twice as many matches than we have. We have the most draws in the league. We need to be able to convert those draws into wins.
The way we played the last 2 matches looks like we've been able to attack a bit more freely. I expect us to win quite a few games coming up and start to climb and get a glimmer of hope.

I get that you're trying to encourage people to turn up, but you're possibly approaching the situation in the wrong way.
I'm sure there are plenty of valid reasons that people can't attend matches even if they wanted to. Doesn't mean they aren't supporting the team to the fullest of their ability. It's not about bothering to turn up.
For example, I haven't been to a match this season, but that is down to quite a few factors. I don't live anywhere near Derby any more to make a season ticket good value, I have other financial responsibilities that I need to prioritise (young family) and I've recently taken a pay cut in order to secure a new job that I needed to get my mental health back on track.
There could be any number of perfectly valid reasons that the "missing 10,000" aren't there every home game, but it doesn't mean that they matter less than the awesome fans that are there home and away and supporting the lads from the stands.
They get my support every match in the ways that I can support them - screaming at the TV, paying to watch on Rams TV, educating my kids to support The Rams even though their classmates all support Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal...

We also have the 6th highest average attendance in the league. Not very far off the 4th highest (Boro). I am sure with more positive results we can see more people attending and the players responding positively to it, but I just hope that those who are attending don't feel that people who aren't turning up regularly are any less of a Rams fan than they are.

This is the most sensible response here.
The academy is a long term project, you can't just go and scrap it because it's not produced the next England captain in the few years we've had a Category 1 status academy.
I've found myself looking out for more of the youth team results the last few years, mainly because there is some exciting talent coming through (maybe not to the high standards certain posters are expecting just yet), but also because we are competitive against the big teams at this level and the standard has been better than some of the first team scraps at the bottom of the table recently.
There are a lot of players starting to come through, that hopefully now we have the restrictive embargo lifted a bit, we can use or loan out to get some experience to help them develop further.
Feel free to find bookmark this post and mock me if we haven't made some strong sales or got some high quality players established in our first team that have come through the academy in another 3 or 4 years.
Ebosele, Thompson and Watson have joined the first team setup this season/back end of last season. Tyree Wilson, Aghatise and Cashin all not too far away from first team duties IMO. Then in the younger age brackets there are more names to look out for: Sam Sebagabo, Omari Kellyman, Cian Kelly Caprani, Ola Ibrahim, Eze, Darren Robinson and Malcolm Ebiowei.
Get excited about the youth teams, they're some great kids trying to make it in a cut throat profession and DCFC is a great place for them to be learning their trade and progressing.

Not going tonight, but my last trips to Craven Cottage involved some drinks in the Eight Bells and The Temperance - both of which are right near Putney Bridge Station. Bars around there are pretty away friendly to be honest.
