Regardless of the outcome, the EFL have lost any credibility to govern the league and if anything, our case has brought out the need to completely rebuild the hierarchy in charge of our division.
When the EFL originally lost the case against Mel and DCFC, the honorable thing to do by the EFL would have been to accept that loopholes in the rules were exposed and used to our advantage, however that is not down to the club being in the wrong. The accounts were signed off. They have taken zero responsibility for their part in this mess and have taken all steps to cover their failings. I am a critic of how Mel has ran the football club however I will back him against these muppets.
If the EFL had questioned our practices at the time, the club would have needed to accept the consequences for breaking rules. This was authorised by the league. If I was at work and I signed off somebody's documentation, I would be the one responsible for any repercussions if there were problems.

£125m for being the worst team in the league.
    Just let that sink in.
One hundred and twenty five million pounds for being crap.
That’s 3 clubs coming down with a total of £381m, but that’s not all, the Premier League will also give them parachute payments to soften the blow.
Sorry to start another topic on this, but it’s a topic that needs to be repeated, football is broken. It’s broken and they are doing nothing about it. Why?
We have to try and compete with those 3 next year, with barely any revenue we have to compete against clubs with over £100m in their back pockets.
    What hope do we have?
Yes I know money doesn’t always = success, Brentford beat Bournemouth, made it to Wembley but how many years have they been trying to get there?
Whoever goes up it’s a major achievement, getting past the parachute payment clubs, it’s huge, one season up there and they have banked over £100m, it’s madness.
We can never have a completely level playing field, I understand that, but the PL and EFL could come together and distribute that money out more fairly.
    Why are they not?
Why are these questions not being asked?
Do we need to see more clubs liquidated, more clubs going bankrupt trying to compete from the Championship to League 2, all the national media journalists will be all over that, justice for Bury, why not call it out now?
Heads are so far up the Premier League’s backside the Football League barely gets a mention.
I’m ranting I know, but £125m for being crap.
Who signs off on that and thinks it’s good for football?
    It’s broken, football is broken.

That 15/16 season although results wise was a decent year, business wise it was an absolute disaster. The boom or bust model has caused the club to be financially restricted and I think will cost our league status.
The instability off the field has caused this mess. Rooney and his arrogance believing in his abilities has shot him in the foot, however the awful management in recruitment and financial issues is the base to all the problems. I've always thought Norwich was a shining example of a well run club. They even went down to league one and it didn't cripple them financially, because they had the rainy day money in the bank for a worst case scenario. Their owners aren't exactly rich but they've been smart enough to spend within their means. Derby on the other hand have been on the crest of a wave towards utter implosion from within. Like any business, if you don't fix the issues short term, it will ruin it long term. How many years have the supporters been calling for the recruitment to be overhauled? We've done nothing to change anything. Buying dross season after season.
There's a fine line between being competitive and splashing the cash. And unfortunately we've just been spending money on players wlth zero resale value. The Waghorn fee was ridiculous at the time and now we're giving him away for nothing. Spending big money on players in their prime with long expensive contracts in this division with FFP rules has not work, unless the club has dropped out of the Premier League. We haven't learnt our lessons. It is the same mistakes every season. Our recruitment policy has been dreadful for years. Everyone makes mistakes. You have to learn quickly and the club done nothing to correct the problems under Mel's tenure. I respect the man for his large investment. It does not make you on pedestal to be invincible though. We've become a tabloid gossip column under his tenure and I have had enough of being this back page drama club.
This club needs a complete rebuild from top to bottom. I know everyone says this but it is so true. The recruitment needs to be high on the new owners list of priorities because we will slip further down the ladder if this does not change in the summer.

The poor mismanagement from the ownership on players wages and some ridiculous transfer fees need to be questioned. The club clearly in the past did not have the correct balance on spending, all triggered by an awful recruitment policy.
The division's worst recruitment team has never been reviewed or significantly changed even when reoccurring expensive mistakes have been made. No lessons had been learnt prior to last summer. Players with no resale value being signed for millions and being sold for peanuts or being released. Another 10 million quid out the door this summer out of contract on freebies as it stands, how is this acceptable? It is no wonder the club are stuck in this media circus of trials and negative press coverage. I'd rather we spent within our means then be crippled with debt and be stuck in a hole for years to come. Like having a high credit card limit and banking on a massive pay day to clear the debt. It was a huge risk. And now as a club, we must face the consequences of our failures.
If Mel Morris was not a local businessman, the supporters would have protested about his ownership by now. Why should we keep giving this man a free pass? Because he's invested his big money and money is everything? I appreciate that he had a dream and I am sad for him that it hasn't worked out. Without FFP I reckon we'd have been promoted eventually. But why should his irresponsibility as an owner be acceptable. He could put our club into administration which threatens jobs and points deductions.
Your number one job as an owner is to ensure the club is sustainable for generations. Any rich muppet with money can go out and splash the cash. It's what you do with it that matters.

Full transparency. I was invited to this meeting, but chose not to put my name or the forums to this.
Reason being as I have previously stated, this forum is a platform for fans views, I am not an elected chairman/spokesman to speak on behalf of you all, simply the creator of this platform for fans views which can already be openly seen by the club.
I did not feel comfortable signing on behalf of the forum without consulting you all, and felt my name without attaching dcfcfans.uk held no weight.
My own personal views are that this letter has been created out of concern for the clubs future and regardless of how you feel towards any of the groups that have signed off on it, do not see this as an opportunity to attack supporters groups for speaking on behalf of Derby County fans.
We all love this club. ?

SSD got a reaction from DCFC Kicks in Is VAR Ruining Football?
Football is very different to other sports because the rules are not always very clear. When they use technology in cricket and tennis for example, the decisions are black and white. And they use it on a review basis rather than have it in play all the time. That's why I think it works in them sports.
With football, the technology in my opinion is only good for checking if the ball goes over the goal line and the offsides (which is awful at the moment and needs changes). We don't need a video assistant for any other decisions in my opinion. What needs to happen is more power to the other 3 officials on the field. How many times has an incident been seen by a linesman or a fourth official, who have the best view, yet they will not overrule a referee or explain the incident with the referee.
VAR interrupts the flow of a football match which irritates everybody involved. The decisions take far too long, it should be a 30 second review, if it's not clear and obvious then the game carries on. I don't want to see Mike Dean arse around for 5 minutes deciding if somebody slightly went into a tackle too late. That benefits nobody. Make the decisions quicker or scrap it off.
