The fullbacks were *definitely* ahead of the centre halves, so 2211121? 😉

Ghost of Clough got a reaction from Dordogne-Ram in Sibley too good!
Which is why he had 2 shots and 25 passes (only 1 less than Forsyth). He didn't have a bad game, but he was quiet. At the weekend, a lot of our best attacks came through him. He's inconsistent, which he can only improve on if given a consistent run in the side.

I was expecting us to dip into the 23k's on Tuesday so it was pleasing to see the attendance hold up

Think that’s very true of all managers , they really need a good coach with them

Ghost of Clough reacted to angieram in Sibley too good!
Mmm, I did note to myself we lost a midfielder at the time, but that didn't suit my argument. 😂

Interesting comments here because apart from the goal, Sibley was involved in the build up play for most of our chances first half - watch the highlights video. Nothing spectacular, just laying off the ball quickly and keeping the move flowing.
I also commented in the matchday thread about his work covering across the pitch for any Exeter breaks. He did this really well (not always noticed on TV as off the ball) and it was noticeable how much more open to the counter-attack we were when he went off.
And he was playing very close to Waghorn, intentionally, by the look of it. Interesting his best pass was when he dropped deeper and found some space to play into.
I thought he had a steady game, not as bad as some are making out. And of course, he is still building fitness after NO pre-season.

Ghost of Clough reacted to Archied in Warne Out Out
Thing is there’s bits about rosenior team that looked better but bits of warne that looks better ( in my humble opinion ) but be fair the rosenior point only started again because a poster said we are no better than under rosenior ? Of course some posters will react as to why they think we are , surely that’s fair and understandable 🤷🏻♂️

I thought I had posted a few pro-Warne comments recently. Even today, I said his subs last night were almost perfect (I felt Wilson should have stayed on for an extra 5 minutes) and reminded another poster that we have actually beat top teams already this season. I haven't said anything negative today.
I have been critical of a lot of aspects to Warne's management, from style of play, introducing academy prospects into the first team, and actually playing our younger players. But, if we consistently play like last night my first issue will be fixed. The continued use of players like Sibley in the first team solves the 2nd. All that remains is a few minutes given to academy players in cups or when we do have another injury crisis.

Against the current top 6 so far this season, our record is 2W 1D 2L. One of those losses came about after a wrongful red card and a penalty being given which looked to have actually been a foul outside the box.

And his young prodigy got one over him, doing alright that Hull manager, sort of young, developing manager I would have liked to see here 😊

Ghost of Clough got a reaction from Bald Eagle's Barmy Army in Will Clowes patience soon run out?
Hourihane and Smith both used ahead of his own DM signing last night.
Collins is our most used CF this season, despite signing 3 of them in the summer
I could see an argument regarding Mendez-Laing and Barkhuizen (as wingers) being a hindrance regarding a full transition to a system with wing-backs, but no other attacking player has had more minutes on the pitch than Mendez-Laing so far this season, and despite Barkhuizen missing te first 6 games of the season through injury, he's already had more minutes than a few other attacking players.

I wouldn't point the finger at his signings for the wage bill. It was more the fact that we didn't get rid of enough players.
Bryson, Blackman, Butterfield, Anya, Pearce, Camara Shackell, Martin and Bent all contracted to us and barely played that season.

I thought we needed Wilson to stay on for another 5 minutes against the LB they had only just brought on and got booked within 1 minute. He was making a mess in his underwear every time he got the ball. Other than that, I think the subs were perfect.
