This is the average player positions from last night:

That's clearly a standard back 4.  I'm not saying Wilson didn't help out defensively or anything, but we didn't seem to be doing the thing where Niambe tucks in as a 3rd centre half and Wilson drops back to wingback.  He was playing as winger who helped out his fullback at times.

It was a flat back 4 with wingers tracking back. Did you used to think we were playing 5 at the back under McClaren when Russell was doing his defensive work?

Well it’s semantics.  
Anyhow i watched Rams TV round up with Owen and Shaun this morning.  
They talk loads of sense.

It’s really 3 at the back when defending  moving to a 5
