Random suggestion...
What about about its the play offs scenario, unless the 3rd place finish a certain amount of points eg 5 ..10 clear of 4th, then they go up automatically.
Or every 3 points gives them a goal start in the play offs. 
PS I think it's fine as it is really.

It's like not knowing Margaret Thatcher (God rest her soul) officially opened Prime Park Stadium way 25 years ago this week.
 
Dear oh dear... sometimes, I despair, I really do!

Absolutely brilliant these.
I still think that being on the BBG pitch in 1996 post Palace match as a 14 year old with my dad was my greatest childhood memory. I never knew life could be so good on that day, still not sure I have ever experienced feelings like it since 🐏 

I try to avoid feeling a failure by being romantic all year round... even in the week!  🤓
We treat each other (materialistically and/or in other ways) as and when we deem fit, and play next to no part in all this calendar-related marketing department guff!
Admittedly, it can sometimes appear that we are miserable gits or tightwads etc (no exchanging cards for Xmas, no valentine flowers (but plenty throughout the year), and more often than not, not even actual "un-wrappable" birthday presents either!  For example, my birthday present this year is a weekend in Lincoln to go see the Rams Away... and maybe a steak dinner at Bernie Inns!  😁
It works for us.  👍

Nothing wrong with the current system in my opinion. At the end of the day there will always be a cut off point for automatic promotion. Its a binary. You're either above the line or below the line.
It's a second chance for the 3rd team to gain promotion, everything is in that team's favour and more often than not, the 3rd placed team wins it.
If you had the 3rd team straight into the final, somehow I think that just increases the jeopardy. It would be a random game played weeks after the seasons end. In this scenario, the opposition team joining them in the final would surely be more 'ready' for the final given they potentially will have played two games beforehand and will have built up some momentum. If we're looking for fairness, we need more games not less.

Obviously not proud of this bit, but I can confirm 7 seconds is more than enough.

The whole search (For best part of an hour and a half, in and around East Street and The Eagle Centre, as it was then, and involving police foot patrols, Eagle Centre security staff, and lots of walkie-talkies) centred around my anger at the boy for wandering off, and planning the appropriate punishment once he was found.  The reality of the situation once he was found was part collapse, a little vomiting, and literal tears of utter and shameless relief!
Shame itself only kicked in later, and still remains today, nigh on 36 years later*
Never felt so sick in my life, before or since! 🤮

(He was found by BHS staff, apparently within 5 mins of him wandering off, taken to their non-public staff canteen... and nobody thought it wise to actually report it!  He, on the other hand, was lapping up the cakes, fizzy pop, goodies, and attention in equal measure!)  FFS!
