And hit an incredible cross field pass in the first half that led to fantastic move. Had his best game for us last night imo.

Another way of looking at it is, we've created 6 chances.

I don't think you should be sent off for witnessing the keeper punch one of our players. Seems harsh

This 'poor victimised DCFC' feeling needs to be kicked into touch. It's embarrassing tbh.
Yes, there is a huge lack of consistency in applying FFP rules and we can rightly feel aggrieved over that. The idea, however, that referees are under instruction to control the game to ensure Derby struggle to get results is pathetic.
Cashin, as magnificent as he was yesterday, could have received a red card for a knee high tackle. He didn't, and although I thought yellow was correct given the split-second nature of the incident, plenty of refs would have sent him off.
Please stop the 'everyone is against us' schtick. It detracts from what we all know is a proud, fantastic club.

It's an odd argument you're making, in my opinion.
Perfunctory is a good term, and it applies to his performance today.
He did nothing wrong, and executed his limited skill set well, so why not praise him for that?
He played well, whether that's measured against other unavailable players, or against his own benchmark of performances so far for Derby doesn't really matter.
He played well, full stop.

I heard that, but certainly didn’t interpret what he said in that negative way. I think you might be over analysing things a bit and looking for ‘issues’ that really aren’t there. Sorry.

Spare a thought for all the Derby businesses who could do with a little help with a bleak winter coming.

Wise words. I assume he was earmarked for a loan last year and the issues surrounding our available players and his injuries prevented it.

As well as two niggly injuries, Jack had covid last season, which he took a while to recover from. Hence the reason Cybulski seemed to leapfrog him into the first team squad.
Before that, he was looking really sharp and actually a lot more deadly in front of goal than Plange at under 23 level.
I think the goalscoring ability is there. The question mark is whether he can handle the closer attention that defenders will give him at league level. Division two is a good place to find that out. Good luck, Jack.

First off, under Phillip Cocu, we broke a club record for scoring in consecutive games. It was over 20.
Secondly, there is a difference between poor finishing and not creating chances. You have to be worried about if you are not creating chances. I don’t know any team that has struggled in a season where they create more clear cut chances than the opposition every game.
All teams can have an off day in front of goal. There has never been a team which has scored in every game of the season.

If he becomes half as good a finisher as simmo he’ll be brilliant.

Very good loan for Stretton to get some game time under the legend that is Simmo .

Interesting and relevant debate this.
I'm not a gambler and have never particularly been interested in it, beyond a social flutter on the grand national or whatever. I always lose and have never seen the appeal.
However, through work, I have spoken to numerous people affected by gambling addiction and the tragic consequences outlined by the OP.
As with many issues of this nature the situation will only change through regulation and a handful of clubs making a stand is unlikely to have much impact. That doesn't mean they shouldn't make that stand. Just because the money is there and we need it, doesn't mean that we should take it.
Some have commented that gambling had been around for years, so why get Draconian now. The simple issue is that gambling online, with enticing free bets and in-play betting is so much more accessible and instantaneous. This drives a chemical reaction in the brain that is highly addictive. After being suckered in, there's often a downward spiral and there will be many, many more like the OP talked about. It's a bigger issue than people realise and we'll only start to see the scale of the devastation over the next few years.
Will it make much difference if we choose to ban gambling adverts from shirt sponsorship etc? Probably not systemically but if there's the slightest chance that one youngster will avoid the fate of the young lad in the OP, then I think it's a moral stand worth taking. I also think we will be on the right side of history when (and it will be when) online gambling is regulated and marginalised.
Regardless of our recent history, Derby are an exciting proposition for a whole host of potential sponsors and we should challenge ourselves to take a difficult stand if that's what it takes.
The short version of this tome is: I agree with the petition, I'm in. Should have probably written that at the start...

My son lost his best friend, Jack, to suicide caused by gambling addiction.
There are 409 deaths related to gambling every year in England alone and a YouGov study from this year shows that 2.9 million people are either already addicted or at risk of being so, with a further 3.3 million classified as “affected others”. These stark figures show what we already know: gambling harm is not an issue affecting just a small minority, it is severely harming – sometimes killing – many.
To prevent any young fan from experiencing what Jack and so many others did, I'm urging Derby Country FC to cancel all gambling partnerships, say no to any new offers, and back The Big Step campaign.
It seems David Clowes is a good guy - I'm sure he'll listen. Please support this.
Thanks

I think you have to credit Oxford for stifling some of our creativity in midfield. The number 11 went man to man on bird. It did help when he went off.
