After today's game, not in wrist-slashing mode like a lot seem to be. In the circumstances (injuries, playing an unbeaten team etc etc) thought it was a decent point. We've just come off the back of 3/4 tough games and we are still only 3 points off the play-offs. Personally, I think we'll improve and the performances and results will start to pick up in coming weeks. But there you go. Maybe I'm being too optimistic.

    Wildsmith - nothing special
smith - obviously better when moved into midfield
Nelson - he is ok but he can’t pass the football
Cashin - did ok with one blunder
Forsyth - again probably our best defender
Hourahan - injured and left the party
Fornah - he’s done well to get a two year contract and lucky not to see red
Elder - selected to play left midfield so not his fault
NML - normally gets 60 mins apart from when in South America then we give him 70
Washington - I thought he did ok with Waghorn
    Waghorn - as with Washington
subs Embleton - nothing to get excited about
Wilson - nothing much but not the best right back I have ever seen
Sibley - bright spark for me as he ran with the ball and passed it to Derby players
Barkhauzen - didn’t really get involved
    Collins - nice penalty
our game plan was get the ball in behind where their full backs and run after it unless I missed something
we totally did not deserve to win which we nearly did - you would have hoped to try to get the ball into their half in the last 10 minutes after we scored the penalty
Again the referee was the best one we have seen this and last season.

One positive today was the referee. Thought she was the best we’ve had since being in League One.

Well…I thought we were alright for the 7th game of the season? Thought the defensive players were robust and our best players. It’s much like, once you give players time together on the pitch then they form an understanding with those around them? Bradley slaters take note, these things take time.
We were a bit disjointed in midfield and attacking but thought Smith had his best game in a while and Embleton looked pretty good.
We over rely on NML and when he’s not in the mood then…it falls apart. Barks and Sibley brought something a bit different, feel Sibley especially will be crucial in the coming weeks.
Heres a thing, right now could you name a cohesive 11 who actually look 100% fit and match fit? Think we are picking up a few frustrating injuries after a proper pre season but maybe once we battle through the next couple of weeks we might see ourselves at something like a match sharp matchday squad and can see us going on a run then.
Thought today overall gave us something to build on, mostly strong defensively aside their goal and that shot by the defender and thought we were trying to attack the right way. I’m more postive after today than I was coming out of games before the international break.
Frankly think some of you need to give your head a bit of a wobble.

To be clear, I am not scapegoating anyone. I have stated before that I find it really curious he's lasted 10 years at the club - when you consider all the scandalous stuff he's overseen in that time, and I would love to understand why that is. That's all.
The fact last night was pretty much exactly his 10 year anniversary of joining the club - that could have been mentioned, but tellingly wasn't. He clearly doesn't want to draw attention to anything in the past.
That's fair enough, but the question he swerved was a direct "in hindsight is there anything that you feel you personally could have done better" - a real chance for him to show some honesty and maybe endear himself to the fans a little more.
Instead - he blatantly swerved it by parroting his pre-prepared speech from earlier in the evening that wasn't even anything to do with the question. All that does is make him look like he's avoiding scrutiny and that's a really terrible quality to have when it comes to leadership skills. Sorry that I just want the best for the club

I don’t think it’s meant to make people feel better. It’s Warne showing accountability for his actions, it’s done, what matters now is what he does to improve things this season. If he doesn’t or can’t it’ll cost him his job and someone else gets to try.

We are derby county, but we have no divine right to anything,
We’re taking our medicine, serving our time for what happened /nearly happened previous.
We will get better , we will flourish again but like any kind of rehabilitation it takes time and wont happen over night
some fans need to realise this

I think we are a top ten team not a top six team the current results do not make good reading as it highlights extreme inconsistency 3 wins 3 losses. We need to be stronger , grittier and show the bottle. Our current form is a 12-13th place team if it continues.
anything less than top six this season Warne is gone

While I agree with some of the sentiments of the OP, why do we need to do this dance every time we lose? Not on this forum particularly but definitely on Twitter one week it’s HMS piss the league next week relegation fodder the next. It’s becoming tiresome.
I didn’t follow the game yesterday stats wise it looked like we parked the bus first half, but who is to say without the red card we’d have taken over the game in the second half and won it? Playing nearly a whole half with 10 men when at 1-1 is a significant enough mitigating factor to just ignore this game and move on to the next one. Not to mention sounds like a very fortunate goal won it and a horrific injury for Jake which is a body blow to the lad and to us.
Weve had a pretty tough start with the fixtures and we’re in the mix in what is going to be a wide open league this season.

David Clowes saved our club, but we're still not free of the restrictions caused by administration. We are currently an artificially reduced club. Our turnover, fanbase and history should feed into increased revenue with sponsorship deals and TV appearances. If we'd just been relegated, we would be able, given the right management, to dominate this league.
The problem is that we had 5 players, very few academy players capable of stepping up and serious restrictions on our finances and recruitment.
Thanks to hard work and commitment from David Clowes, Liam Rosenior and Paul Warne, we are now at a point where we are a 'normal' club again. We have a full squad and the academy has been strengthen. But don't be fooled. We're still not a big Championship club about to boss our way out of League 1.
The calls for passing football are, IMO, naive. You only get promoted by playing passing football if you have a squad full of high quality players that are simply too good for the rest of the division. The restrictions which we've been under have meant that the rebuild has had to be cheap. Quality players aren't cheap. The only way this squad is getting promoted is with spirit, fitness, organisation and pragmatic football. It doesn't matter if we replace Warne tomorrow - trying to pass our way out of this division with this squad would be a disaster.
I'd also argue that Warne hasn't had any quality academy players to include, so criticising him for not playing them is difficult to justify.
At this point we need a pragmatic manager. If we replace Warne it will be with someone similar. The restrictions have forced us to build the squad this way and it is logical to give this type of squad this season and next to try for promotion. If that fails, then it will be time to review and maybe bring in a manager who will rebuild with expensive passing players and academy products. By that time the restrictions will be long gone and the size of our club should enable us to be more dominant in the transfer market.

On paper PW ticked a lot of boxes. A record of success at this level and used to achieving it on a shoestring. Unfortunately Derby aren’t Rotherham and the respective expectations are completely different, particularly where the fans are concerned. I’m not sure DC factored that in, but who knows 🤷‍♂️

This is pretty much my view too. Today we narrowly lost away to a team that will be Top 6 via a pen and an OG after our keeper had been sent off. Let's see where we are at after 15 games.

I just think we're only a win away from the top six - give him the break to try and sort things out and if we're still as bad afterwards then make a change

You’re right mozza we are struggling after a very bright start. No Santos, no midfield, defence leaking goals it’s a real puzzle. On the plus side though Dion Charles is on fire at the moment and Adeboyejo is improving so if we can get the service right at least we can score. You on the other hand have picked up recently and seem to be hitting form so it should be a cracking game on Saturday with maybe a few goals in it? I still think we’ll both be there or thereabouts at the end of the season so Saturday could be an important pointer.

Yes, he just needs to bed in to the framework so they all understand each other. Sometimes over elaborates and doesn’t release ball soon enough (or too early) but a lot of that is wavelengths as I think you are suggesting. I am very optimistic about Tommo, he has something out of the ordinary and is young enough for it to ripen nicely with the right coaching.

I think, taking this in the manner it was intended, Will Hughes would be the one for that “romantic homecoming”. We scrape through promotion this season and the rebuild is on once more for 2024/25 in the championship, Hourihane says he’s off to coach Villa’s kids full time, Smith decides he’s retiring to open a Farm Shop in the Yorkshire Dales, we need an experienced player to play alongside Max Bird and his shiny new contract, and Will Hughes says “I’m your man, I’ve done my premier league tour, I’m coming home!”
Swiftly followed by Festy, Kaide Gordon, Kellyman, Liam Delap and….Chris Martin in a player coach role.

This to a tee articulates where I'm at so thank you for saving me the effort to have to pen it myself. I was disappointed Rosenior wasn't made permanent manager just under a year ago. But you have to respect the views of the bloke who has justed saved your club from the abyss.
I like Warne. He's honest and genuine, if perhaps lacking in some other departments.
Let's just get on with supporting the team. Cos afterall, we're all Derby, aren't we?
