Liked him at Luton and would have liked him a couple of years ago. If we sign him it reinforces that we have some good experience throughout the team. Would love him to be our new focal point A la Steve Howard

agree with posters that say that’s In an ideal world we would also sign a pacy forward too to complete the set

I don’t know bugger all about how he plays but I’ve had this weird hope that is exactly what he’ll be. Love Steve Howard, came out of nowhere and I was very “meh!” When he signed but how he proved me wrong!

Re: the stadium, bear in mind that Clowes hasn't paid for the stadium, he's paid for the company that owns the stadium.

An important distinction when you'll have fans bleating on about 'but how is it worth £80m when he only paid £23m?'

Bit off topic but if he’s bought the company that owns the stadium does that mean all contracts such as food and beverage provisions continue? Or will he be able to get new people in?

on the contrary, I got more than I expected, however I wasn't going to give them away for way less than what I knew someone would pay for them. Which on appearance, is what MA appears to have chanced. Early on, Q announced a price to bidders, I bet nobody got near that price, however there will have been degrees of derisory bids.

I took individual pics of the collectible ones. But couldn't be arsed with separate listings. I had every 12" single for Charlatans, Oasis and Weller, as well as all the Smiths vinyls and some collectible RATM Picture vinyls, but my Pinky & Perkys Greatest Hits was the Marque Vinyl

    Shaun Barker like fee?

Hopefully it's Ashley, but whoever it is, i would like to take the academy way from now on. A sprinkle of experience, to help the youth, no need to splash any cash. It's the stability Ashley could bring, is what i want.. Plus he won't get mugged off in the transfer market, like we historically do. UTR

I’m all in for this idea. As well as giving academy players a shot you have quality seasoned pros in their twilight years to help the team while also gaining valuable coaching experience. A pathway for players and coaches alike.

    anyway, PB yet? ?

  5. Probably one of the best at interviews to come out of the academy. Spoke very well about the game on Saturday and didn’t just stick to the same old lines.

I love sibley as a player (obviously!) but his interviews can be a bit hard work some times, obviously not trying to knock him as obviously he’s young and obviously excited to be playing.

but it’s fairly obvious Cashin has a good understanding of the game.

  6. A poster on here mentioned a month or so ago about how much he gets his body between the ball and the player so I watched this one game (might have been Birmingham). Anyway, the point is spot on. He just gets his body in the right place so often and wins us free kicks, rarely gives them away as well. He gives everything but at the same time it’s not just effort, he’s got real ability there as well. Like he was made to play football. Not flashy but just does everything you’d want from someone in that position. Rooney must love him!

I remember watching Hendrick and despite his talent he would often hide from the ball. Much prefer knight as a player. Leaves everything out there.

  7. Has anyone mentioned that the accord might have been something along the lines of…

Mel “look steve, I understand your frustrations with the way I ran Derby County. I was trying to find loop holes and get round the regulations of the EFL who you know as well as I do are incompetent to the highest level. We’re both supporters of our club and both savvy business men. You’d probably have done the same right? Why not lay off the club, I’ve gone, it wants to move forward.”

Gibson “All fair points Mel, and yes, I am a savvy business man, thanks for noticing! But my issue is I have to find fault somewhere for my teams inability to get promoted with all of those parachute payments! I’ve already blamed Karanka, Pulis and Warnock, I can’t blame myself!

Mel “Well Steve, I’m not incompetent and your not incompetent. Who is incompetent?”

    Steve “…..”

Mel “The EFL Steve, the answer is the EFL”

Steve “oooooooooh! Riiiiiiiiiight…. Not sure I follow Mel”

Mel “We go after the EFL together Steve, me and you! Whata ya say buddy??”

    Steve “your my hero Mel!”

Mel “I know Steve, I know. Why don’t we do something about that Barnet, you can look just like me!”

    *sound of sheep clippers*

Just a thought while I was bored waiting for the game to start.

  8. To be honest, I’m surprised the Belgian FA are really that bothered. What’s he done? Slightly better than Erickson and capello with our “golden generation”. But really considering the quality and depth they have he should have won something.

Come on Belgian FA, let him go to Everton. He’s got a point to prove there. Done bugger all for you!

I don't think I'd be ready for Rooney leaving to be added on top of the already heartbreaking situation we find ourselves in.

The compensation money would probably fund us until the end of the season at least, but would the club be as appealing if he goes? Sponsors, potential owners, players... all cited Rooney as a pulling factor for us. If he goes, do players decide they'll leave after all? Does the amount buyers are willing to pay drop?

I've seen enough this season with Rooney to tell me I want him to be involved with Derby for a long, long time. He's my favourite manager since McClaren 9 years ago, and if he keeps us up he'd definitely eclipse that. Maybe he would still even if we don't stay up.

I thought that if the worst comes to worst, and we end up with a phoenix club, Wayne and his American friends might want to buy us. He wouldn't manage us, but at least he's involved.

To summarise, I really do not want him to go to Everton. Not sure if I made that clear.

Well this really helped my mood! ?

  10. Thought it was a silly challenge, bit of over exuberance from a young player. Late with a lot of force, doesn’t look particularly dangerous though. Worthy of a red card.

I liked Clarke’s response. Not over playing it. Almost like he held him down and said “now now lad, calm yourself down!”. Always like Clarky!

It`s got to be the macarena ! We`re very merry and we love Ebosele ,  Hey Ebosele ! Keep going  Festy , you`re gonna storm it

Yeah, thanks for that! Now walking round with the Macarena in my head! ?

  12. My friend lives next to his grandad in Burton (I know, friends, grandads, brothers house cleaner etc etc!). From what she says he’s a really nice, polite young lad. Pops round quite frequently for a cuppa with his pops.

This just seems to be him having a bit of harmless fun. Seems to have a better sense of humour than the majority of pouting halfwits on social media. I know and have worked with a few of them!

Im 37 and proud to be finally matching my age to my grumpy disposition, just for reference!

There’s something so Derby about watching a Bundesliga 2 game on a Monday night to watch a player were not going to sign.

That’s your average Rams fan. Not a dcfcfans Rams fan though! We’ll do all of the above then come on here and be gutted we missed out on him and just to dredge up extra levels of misery list a bunch names from the past.

”can I cry about us not offering Chris Martin a better contract?” or “looks like Bobby Davison but more Turkish  and doesn’t wear short enough shorts” or “few! At least we missed out on another Nick Blackman!” Or “Kevin hector was much better because of red numbers”

all jokes obviously but we don’t half like twisting our own knife!

First time a big centre half tries to knock him over we will know what kind of a guy he is. Would be a sensation if he could forcefully out jump a CB and score with a header from a corner.

Corner comes in, Dursun leaps like a majestic salmon, towering above Clarke and Wizz to smash the header in the onion bag. 1-0 Norwich. Cause we only concede from corners ??‍♂️
