For the first time since 1975 we are going to come back and win from being a goal down, Mark my words ?

Dethorn reacted to 24Charlie in I’ve enough of football.
I can’t be bothered to go today. Or anymore for that matter. Football is lost to me.
We anxiously wait for some rich person to bail us out. These person/persons have a plan involving making money. But no interest in Derby. At least Mel had a dream. He followed it and so did we. We could have made it. But didn’t.
But make what exactly? Joining a league of Rich men’s playthings.
Billionaires are queuing up to buy Chelsea. Sky are more interested in a subscription from someone in South Korea than a season ticket holder in Southampton.
It not our game anymore, where just there for the sound effects.
Football sucks.

Do that with what’s on the pitch now? Fozzy, Cashin and Davies as a 3, put Festy on one side and Byrne on the other then push Lawrence up top?

One was expected to appear between the Jurassic and Cretaceous period but there was a slight delay. Admin update expected after the second coming of Christ though, so probably another 48 hrs at a guess. Imminent anyway.

With Bielik back I'd stick with Thompson on the bench, bring him on after 60mins when we're two, three or four nill up.

I had the privilege and the pleasure on Monday to meet up at Seven restaurant in Derby with some DCFC royalty.
I had been approached by a national newspaper (not the sun) sports reporter to ask if i could assist him in inviting some of the legends of the 1971/72 team, they are not just legends of Derby County but 1970s football in general, household names in the footballing world until this day and men of god for those who follow Derby County and forever revered in these parts.
What he wanted to do was to something that nobody else in the press seems bothered about and that is to bring the story of what those players did under the auspices and guidance of Brian Clough & Peter Taylor into the headlines and to freshen up and relive the story.
It has been such bad timing that the club is in such a mess that it can not honour these fine gentleman (another victim of the poor management of our club) so i was more than happy to get them together and sit in on what was a great three hours spent over lunch and a couple of drinks in a private room reliving not just that season but the seasons that followed.
its not for me to tell the stories as that honour falls to the reporter and in should be in print a little nearer the end of the season but needless to say there were some funny moments, some very honest and truthful moments and some sad moments.
Kevin was supposed to join us but had to pull out at the last minute but he was ably covered by the others, Messrs Mcfarland, Durban, Gemmill and O'Hare !
50 years ago they were Champions of England and will be forever Champions of Derby !

You are surprised at me, but not totally flabbergasted by @angieram’s reply. There you were sticking up for her kind, and she dismissed you with a sweep of her duster, or any other kitchen implement she was holding whilst multi-tasking on this forum. You must be very woke for the IOW, as whenever I have been there they all seem to be about 50 years behind the mainland. I bet Stan Boardman is still regularly booked at Shanklin Theatre trying out his new ‘Germans’ routine. You’ve got to laugh Phil, you really have ?

Ah, the Jimmy Carr argument. It's funny to those not offended by it and sod those that are affected.
The targets of "humour" may not be physically harmed but the cumulative negative effects on society are great.
TBH I'm surprised at you @i-Ram.
Anyway, as you say, back to Administration - which is far from humorous to most of us.

But there is humour. Look at the laughter responses they are getting. It might not be your kind of humour, but it is humour nontheless. No binding contracts are being offered. No women are being actually hurt in the making of this humour. I wouldnt go onto Mumsnet if you really want to avoid nasty or bitchy female jibes. A real vipers nest is that Forum. Anyway, Administration .......

Look at the attendances at the start of the season too.
Reading and Middlesbrough at home were in the 16s, if memory serves.
People are still getting their confidence back around Covid, and myriad other reasons - attendances are down across the league.

Confused by your posts and @i-Ram’s on this topic
you’re right of course, limited liability protects shareholders not directors.
But suing directors is very difficult and MM has not offered to be sued as a director.
His offer makes little sense but I think it’s intended to be read as saying two things:
1 “you’re saying I’ve been a cheat, so put your money where your mouth is and agree to sue me in the High Court. “
This is a PR exercise - it’s highly unlikely that a claim by MFC against MM personally would stick
2 “you’re victimising DCFC, let them be sold and instead bring your actions against the club against me in the High Court. “
I have no idea what the High Court would do with this bizarre proposal. I’m sure MM doesn’t either and that M/W would be advised it is a whacky ruse more aimed at public opinion than resolution
MM needs to indemnify the club against the claims to allow the club to be sold

The pressure build up from fans over the last few weeks culminating in Sunday's march was emotional and impressive. But all is silent this week. What is happening - does anyone actually know? What should we be doing other than getting behind the team? Feels very tense this week.
