Can tell this is a chat gpt effort; spoken by a computer without football fan context.
frees aren’t the barrel scrapings they once were since covid made the financial bubble burst in the EFL, as we’ve seen. And loans, done well, can make the difference at an affordable rate (hello ebou Adams). Just can’t be too solely reliant else you end up like a forest team rebuilding scenario.

Mrso reacted to Kernow in Now we're promoted, what are your thoughts on League One ?
My thoughts are that it feels like proper football. I’m becoming increasingly alienated by modern, elite football. I watch it less and less now, and when I do watch it, the enjoyment is sucked out by the way it’s organised and run.
There’s real supporters who support less glamorous clubs because they love them. Not because they win anything or because it’s a tourist attraction. 1700 fans travelled from little Carlisle, just to watch their team that were relegated weeks ago. That’s proper football.
There’s obviously far less money, the facilities are nowhere near as good, the players can’t quite play the same kind of football, but it’s strangely enjoyable.
From scoring two in added time at Port Vale, to Wilson’s header against Bolton, to watching Collins’ penalty at Forest Green from a grass verge outside the ground because the one single turnstile wasn’t working quick enough, it’s been great.
Although saying that, I’m hoping we don’t have to return any time soon!

Just thinking back to my comments about the passionate lower league fans, just shows the power of the pyramid system which the Premier League really doesn't seem to care about.
Long live the English League system, protect it, worship it, it's so important

I prefer it to the Premier League.
If you're outside the clique of Premier clubs then each game is just damage limitation.
I hope the top six or whatever leave for some TV super league (Harlem Globetrotters anyone?) and the top domestic league becomes more competitive as a result.
Even the championship is now ruined as a competition by parachute payments tilting the balance.
At least League One was competitive, unpredictable and, in the most part, entertaining.

Have some pity for those of us who never wanted LR to go and disliked PW being appointed (or even interviewed in truth).  Other than causing hostility by 'I told you do' it is hard to know what to post.  Though I will say that I never thought it would be as bad as this.

Not that this would save the manager IMO (but I never wanted him so I'm permanently biased).

I agree with this.  Could forgive Clowes anything as our rescuer but was upset at Warne replacing LR.  I did expect to be proved wrong until we reached the Championship when Warne would be found out.  But looking at us and Hull this season is making me feel justified and completely miserable.

Mrso reacted to oomarkwright in A penny for David Clowes’ thoughts - and what comes next?
The way I see it it's the same as I said last week.
Clowes chose to effectively remove Ros, and give 4 men a 4 year contract so that means he needs to hold his nerve and play the long game. Can we really afford to get rid of PW's whole staff?
Even if that means giving up on promotion for this season, holding tight in league one mid table obscurity and give it a proper go once the full EFL business plan has been achieved.
I think things WILL calm down once the window shuts. Get thru to the international break and continue to work on fitness and patterns of play.
We would not be out of it in 10th in January and COULD make a few more finishers signings like Bolton did last Jan. This would leave us in a better position next season.
I'm not a Season Ticket holder so this sounds depressing for you guys but we need to look at the bigger picture.
Knee jerk sackings R pointless or wishing we'd have kept rozzy now. A lot hated the slow football and were looking to see a change then.
I am still grateful we have a football club and hope DC stays out of the football decisions but together with PW they need to work at changing things to improve results, and perhaps even more team spirit and unity.

Well last night was a night for "firsts" for me. It was the first time I have heard the ref being booed back on to the pitch for the second half, and the first time I have walked out on a Derby game in 50 years. The nearest was when I left 5 minutes early back in 1998 when we were 4 - 1 down to Newcastle United. It was also a first in that although the ref was terrible, we were worse, by a looooooooooong way.
I didn't see the Bradley penalty foul, so maybe I'm turning into Arsene Wenger, I don't know. And wasn't aware how bad the Colins foul was as it was at the other end of the pitch. I just assumed it was like all the other yellow cards we got, which were for nothing - Smith's was after winning a clean tackle on the ball, for instance. By contrast Harris should have been carded for a blatant dive in the area just before Collins got booked, he ran across the goal line taunting the South Standers after he'd scored, which I thought was inciting the crowd, and then nearly took Cashin's head off while throwing him to the ground, which should have been another yellow. There was also a "both feet off the ground lunge near the corner flag which didn't even warrant a free-kick. So yes, the ref was bad. Partly my fault - I observed that he had been OK for the first 15 minutes, so sorry for being Mr Gobby!
So actually, match official wise, nothing new. But our performance - good grief! We had a good spell early in the second half for about 7 minutes, but that was it. Typified by Hourihane. Many of us have noticed he saunters around for much of the match in a half-arsed manner, and despite a reputation for skill, is more often than not a hoof-baller. NML is disappointing - the only time Collins was where a number 9 should be with a cross impending, and NML crosses behind him. I suppose it was better than simply whacking it out for  throw on the opposite side of the pitch, I suppose. And the defence! We were led to believe that we had brought players in to make our defence look like it is made of granite, but in reality it is made of shale, which means there is always the chance of a landslide. Oh dear.
And once again we saw the opposition adapting on the fly. As soon as Thompson came on and settled at right back, they started raining long balls into his area of the pitch, exploiting his lack of height. IT was instantaneous, almost as if the opposition management knew what they were doing.
Our apathetic midfield is down to Warne's insistence on 3 at the back, plus pushing our midfield forwards in an attempt to be on the front foot. But that puts them too far forwards for us to play through the middle, so our defenders have to resort to pinging the ball wide to the wing backs, which is Warne's preferred, and sole tactic. So despite having good players in the middle, they are being by-passed, to our detriment.
Wilson made an impact, and looks like he wants to play football, as did Thommo, he did more in his first 10 minutes the most of the team managed all match. Unlike many on here, I rate him, because he ahs good ball control, he doesn't waste the ball, has energy and commitment, and always looks to move the ball forwards wherever possible. He should start on Saturday, and given Bird's injury, he should be in central midfield, but knowing "the Derby Way", he'll probably be in goal to teach Wildsmith a lesson!
Another first was me going to a midweek match was me not having to worry about getting home late and compromising my sleep before going to work the next day. And then I left early! But do I want to turn up on Saturday and watch us get beached by Fleetwood? Common sense would say "No", but what has common sense got to do with it?

Not sure what's going on here but hard to believe that Warne has the dressing room after the head turning comment and that woeful non-performance.  The players don't seem to want to play for him - or sadly for us either.

I blame the EFL. They only allowed us to sign players on max 2 year contracts, yet they were way too lax in waving through Warne’s 4 year deal.

I agree.  One result isn't the end of the world, but where is the pace?  Where is the danger?  I can't imagine many teams, seeing that, will be exactly in fear of us.  I'm very disappointed and not just with the result.

Had a think about this question over a few days and I think I’ve come to the conclusion that while I expect us to be challenging near the top, I’m not too bothered about promotion. I mean if it happens then great, I’d be ecstatic but a few things bother me.
    1) I want us to be a sustainable club, I don’t want us to have a chairman who’s having to throw thousands, if not millions, into the club just to keep us afloat or chasing a near impossible dream. We are a community club and I don’t want us to have an idea that the finances of the club are an ownership problem rather than an overall problem we need to keep an eye on.
    2) I want us to have an achievable plan in place to build something. We might have this already in place internally but I want us to have a plan to build something over x amount of seasons rather than just getting to the championship and then going from there.
    3) I have great concerns for the football pyramid as a whole, I can’t see the point in being a championship team with more overheads, trying to get to the prem where the gap between the have and have nots gets ever bigger.
Yes I’d love promotions and getting back to being a big club again, but I also like local ownership and I want us to be steady and stable. We need to be careful what we wish for and think about what’s next and how it’s going to be achieved as much as just having expectations.

My take on it was that Wednesday were essentially knackered.  Too many old players with good stats but no legs.  Posh were way more dynamic.  We had little choice last season so went the same way. Hopefully this summer we can create a younger more dynamic squad and I think we'll be flying next season.
