Usual story. Bright first 10 minutes with nothing to show for it, Opposition slowly get into the game and we revert to a low block, allowing the opposition easy ball retention. We then start trying too hard and get loose. Can’t keep doing it at this level.

Very similar trajectory to all our away games this season apart from Blackburn. Doesn’t look like we can compete at this level away from home with these tactics.

Don’t think passing is high up on the training schedule. At least we are running a lot

Watch the football instead of having a guess about how you think a Warne team looks

We've been quite accurate and cutting with our pass selection so far this season and it has netted us some good goals

It’s not the goal, it’s the build up. As has been the biggest problem this season, and Warnes reign as a whole, we are giving the ball away poorly far too often. In the Championship, any team that does that gets relegated, you’re always going to be punished - we will be next unless something drastically improves in that regard.

True !

Plus we allow teams to walze through our midfield far too easily…. It’s been an issue for quite some time but I can’t figure out why … just seems so easy for the opposition….the way we are set up with the players at our disposal???

Been so organised and hardworking in defence but failed to look after the ball a few too many times and got punished.

I don’t think they’re massively better than we are, but need to tweak things and use the ball better. Jackson for Harness maybe to give Yates some support?

Said at Blackburn, Watford and Sheff U away and Boro and Norwich at home, yet has only yielded 3pts.

Yes we need to look after the ball better, but it’s not a definite precursor to relegation, especially when you consider we’ve already picked up more points than 9 other sides and have a further 38.5 games to play.

I think it’s best not to get too down or too high regards the rest of the season after only 8 games, we’ve shown we can compete at this level even if we’re lacking the depth and quality of some sides.

Think that issue is more to do with the absence of Ozoh to be fair. We don’t really have anyone else who can step in and do that defensive midfield role properly - you’re playing players like Adam’s and Goidmijn out of position.

The long term issue is our lack of care in possession. I’ve been saying it for months but it never seems to improve

And in all away games we’ve surrendered possession, can’t string a pass or keep the ball and even in the home games we’ve average less than 40% possession. We have in parts played well but for 10 minutes here and there.

Osborn hasn't been an outlet at all.

Wilson pick of the bunch so far. Harness and Kenzo not had much ball and Adams has been by-passed.

Pinned back so we either kick it long or need 4 or 5 passes to even get out our half and Zetterstrom's kicking isn't accurate either.

Not any gulf but Sunderland the better team and we have had plenty of corners/dead balls and not looked dangerous.

We have been quite close to Sunderland in this half apart from the wasteful passing in midfield. Although we are playing a much better level of football this season, but it still seems midfield gets attention in training if there’s still some time at the end of the session.

But to be more or less holding our own against a form team is encouraging.

And it’s still early in the season. We’re better off at this stage than a number of other sides with plenty of football still to play, against teams we will have every chance of beating. Plus, tonight isn’t over yet 😁
