v Charlton Athletic (H) Match Day Thread

Before kick off I was hoping the Smith/Adams midfield would work and so far it is, both are breaking play up and doing the simple things very well, Smith seems like a good calming influence in the middle of the park, can see him talking and gesturing to the others.
Solid if unspectacular first half, with a nice headed goal from a set piece giving us advantage. Would like to see us keep up the positive momentum, make some changes to score more and win comfortably. Barkhuizen, CBT, Waghorn and Sibley could all have some fun second half.

Decent half. Started very brightly and then faded a little and stopped winning those second balls which allowed Charlton to grow into the game. Got the goal at a good time.

Hopefully if we can preserve that lead it should allow us to find gaps  the longer the  game goes on. Charlton at some point will have to gamble to get back in it. Please Derby don't gift them a foot hold in the game.

Listening on Radio Derby. They have been very critical of referee Jeremy Simpson - apparently the same one who sent Louie Sibley off for being fouled, so it had to be overturned a couple of days later.

Great to have the lead in what sounds a game with few chances. When things are so tight, you need magical finishers, but of course Sibley was dropped. Good that left back Cashin found the net from a set piece. Sounds a really odd lineup, starting with so many defensive players on the pitch and attacking players on the bench,

Fantastic to be winning, but Nathan Jones is a better tactician than Warne, making me fear a little for us in the second half. Maybe Warne can change things around sooner rather than later and keep Jones off balance? Maybe we can bag goals 2 and 3 and relax? We all live in hope - come on you Rams!

Watch the goal back. Little nudge on the keeper by Gayle, does enough to put him off. Not quite enough to foul him. That's as good as an assist for me.

Their two defenders apprehending Nelson, virtually handcuffing him was more noticeable.
