How do we change it up if needed

I'd rather have Barkhuizen in the middle than NML.

Could we do a league 1 version of Mane, Salah and Firmino? CBT and NML as our furthest forward, with a number ten like Sibley or Bird. I'm not sure Barkhuizen would work in a deeper role.

What about promoting one of u20 whatever’s - Weston , Brown etc . Would need a plan B way of playing as they’re not Collo

Do the club not trust them? you don’t always know what you’ve got till you throw them in - has Weston or Brown even played in the league yet?
Lots of other teams seem to blood young talent, and we have in the past

Ok window closed and we are where we are , time to move on,

we are ok if Collins stays fit ,

question is how do we change it up if Collins gets injured or suspended?
I reckon we have to change the current way we play if the worst happens,

with the squad we have how do we play and who plays where , there are some goals in our forwards and hourihane so if needs must what do people see as the best way to keep getting wins?

We could and will go to five at the back and sometimes we will start with five at the back whilst we continue to cross the ball to Ian ormandroyd and Kevin Francis

I think its about time mods starting dealing with all these stupid and toxic comments. Its ruining the forum which has always had a good atmosphere. Its become toxic now because of the anti Warne and anti club agenda a vocal minority have.

Personally I find it funny that's why I haven't blocked any of the serial offenders - I would miss my daily dose of amusement reading their posts, it's the gift that keeps on giving

Ideal starting XI (Currently)

                    Wildsmith

    Nyambe Nelson Cashin Sibley

                       Adams

           Hourihane           Bird

NML                                             CBT

                       Collins

if Collins can't start then put NML up top for his physical presence and speed and drop Wilson in at RW, simple

There's a permananet pot, a loan pot, and a sack the manager pot. The first 2 pots were agreed with the EFL and cannot be exceeded. The EFL don't care about the third pot.

When everyone's talks about the "pots" it just reminds me of this       🤣🤣🤣🤣

the answer I gave was change the manager.

or only answers approved by you allowed?

Pretty obvious that the question was how do we set the team up to get around an injury to Collins ,

mate it’s bugger all to do with allowed by me , it’s the fact that this is a football forum that is being turned into a place where you can’t talk about football any more , every bloody thread that’s opened ?

Got to admit I’m getting close to just giving up reading and posting on football 🤷🏻‍♂️

I suspect there are several options to move things around if needed. Barks actually prefers playing down the middle, NML would do an honest job if asked to (He holds the ball well too..) Sibley is actually at his best (If he turns up) behind the striker. Thats 3 options just to start off.

Plus of course we should have Washington and Waghorn back hopefully before the end of february, but they will need to be managed carefully. I imagine there might also be the chance of short term deal for a free agent. Lets wait and see.

Reckon it can only work if we play more through the middle

I suppose we could look at a false nine type role? Barkhuisen, NML, CBT, Wilson playing as a front four rather than a 3 + 1? Perhaps NML and Barkhuisen in the middle.

I think our first choice youngster is only available around the same time Washington and Wagstaff come back, that said wasn't Izale Mcloud bought in from the U18s as the other youngsters were unavailable and he then got himself into the team on merit? Worth a punt for a couple of games to have one on the bench?

Could see what Bobby Duncan is up to?

However I think if Collins breaks down, we'll probably be praying for a Paul Warhurst / Chris Sutton type hail Mary and see Bradley get co-opted and then become the next 20 goal striker.

It’s a good discussion point to raise. Ideally Collins stays fit/free from suspension until Waghorn and Washington are back and we don’t worry about it.

However if he is unavailable for whatever reason, Warne spoke today about finding solutions in the squad like playing Mendez-Laing or Barkhuizen as a striker. Neither are “specialist” in the role but could potentially do a job ably supported by Wilson/Blackett-Taylor/Ward/Sibley in some sort of 4-3-3.

The other options might involve a switch to a back 3, something like the 3-4-2-1 Warne has tried before with two “10s” supporting what would probably be a “false 9”, Sibley or someone dropping deep and the 10’s running beyond him? 🤔

It might not be pretty but there are some options for Warne and co to try out if the worst happens. Fingers crossed we don’t need to eh? 😃

Do we need to have hourihane further forward threading balls through for our forwards and in a position to have more opportunities for a crack on goal?

I reckon it’s where we’d get the best from him, Adams to play the deeper midfield role putting himself about a bit, breaking up play and stopping teams waltzing through the midfield which should free whoever from Hourihane/Bird/Thompson/Sibley/Fornah to push forward a bit more.
Hourihane, when playing, needs to be closer to goal due to his shooting ability in my opinion.

To drag out centre backs who are 6ft 4 and will lump away indiscriminate crosses all day.  You'd think that may be a plan.

It’s league one you might as well do a Clough tactic and throw Bradley up there

The problem is it seems our giant center half isn’t actually that dominant in the air 😬

Fozzy at CF, Elder or Sibs left back 😉
