Don't be so pedantic. Peter Daniel was brilliant that year but it rhymes!

If I was being that pedantic, I'd point out that it's hardly a vintage song if you only made it up yesterday ?

(I was actually being curious as to whether or not he did receive a medal)

Good question. Did he receive a medal @loweman2?

He did but a good few years ago his home was broken into and some c@/%$ stole it,the only thing that he had to show for his loyalty to Derby County !

I thought we were in about 74/75 season, I don’t think he won any other medals

Believe the same thing happened to Willie Carlin a few years ago.

Always wondered if the club ever purchased Jack Stamps FA cup medal when it went up for sale.  At the time I thought it would have been a ridiculous decision not to when they paying some players 20k a week plus to basically not play.

Did we ever get the Watney cup back from serial FFP dodgers Stoke.  It was on loan but may have been forgotten about in the last 12 months misery.

Any one know ?

Not really vintage, as it comes from Pride Park and it was a chant that never took off but I've had way too much scotch and I feel it needs recognising dammit.

To the tune Tequila, The Champs version not Terrorvisions abomination from 98. YouTube it for goodness sake.

De de, der der de de, de der

Der de, de de der, de de

De de, der der de de, de der

Der de de de der, de de

Tony Doriiiiigo, Tony Doriiiiigo, Tony Doriiiiigo.

De de, de derda de .... Dorigo

As part of the Rams Heritage trust I took Willie Carlin a replica second division medal round to his house, we had fifty jade and numbered, took him the no 8, he loved it and I spent a couple of hours with himself and his wife, a very funny man, I believe that we have the Watney cup back now.

  • 1 month later...

Don't think this has been mentioned before, but apologies if it has ...

To the theme tune of the Liver Birds by the Scaffold ...

We're the boot boys from the Midlands, we're the boys that like some aggro

We're the boys that gonna get you, singing Ee Aye Addio

Nah nah nah nah, Nah nah nah nah, Nah nah nah nah, Nah nah nah nah

Ive had a beer inspired inspiration for a more pleasant variation of the Collymore song.

McFarland was a scouser

He wore a scousers hat

then he came to Derby,

and said "I fancy that"

He won the League with Cloughie

and then with Dave Mackay,

and now he'll sing the loudest

I'm Derby till I die.

Ohhhhhhh............

Would sound decent at Anfield in November.

Would sound decent home and away, any month, any year. Quality that.

Instead our lot prefer to sing about wangs!

The Harry Roberts song didn't used to go down too well with the boys in blue...sang to the tune of "London Bridge is falling down"

Harry Roberts is our friend, is our friend,

Harry Roberts is our friend, he kills coppers.

Its a reference to a London gangster who shot a couple of police officers in the 1960's but was widely sang by football fans up and down the country in the 70's.

Still is by Millwall. . . . . . they started it obviously!!

Tell me Mam, me Mam

To put the champagne on ice

We’re going to beat Sunderland* twice

Tell me Mam, me Mam

*other victims available, just remember this from the Fulwell late 70s

Also a less pleasant one about a conditional demise at Filbert Street involving a lot of accompanying mardy foxes around your feet.

The Champions years always had a Popside roll call starting MaaacFarland, Toddo, Zigger Zagger, Archie Archie Gemmill, Rioch, Rioch, Alan Hinton on the wing and some time and players later Oo Oo Henry Newton.

always liked the Kris Commons one...he plays on the left, he plays on the right, that lad Kris Commons makes Forest look s****

Liked that one too and I had a similar one for NML until we got obsessed with Cardiff, his neck and more worryingly his wang.

To The Beatles, Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da

Down the Left

Down the Right

Mendez-Laing Wooooh

La La La La La Mendez-Laing

In fairness my song writing career was over after my James Collins effort in the Chant thread, although a few liked that.

Cheers
