Yep.  Rugby 7’s during the first weekend of the Commonwealth Games and it’s left the pitch unplayable.  Their game yesterday was postponed.

Anyway, pitch looks playable to me. None of this "oh please sir Mr EFL my precious championship footballers can't cope without a pitch like a bowling green" now we're in league 1!

It's the sort of shizzle that can happen if you don't own your own stadium and therefore can't control its use. 

Another reason to celebrate dodging the Kirchner deal.

From what I read it is unlikely the condition of their pitch is likely to improve.

I suppose it is a relief that all their fans will fit into the Pirelli okay as they may need it for a while

They’re also only refunding fans in person at the stadium between 9am & 5pm. Shafting the majority of them who are working all day, joke.

Any club that agrees to share a stadium with a rugby club is off their heads. 

This isn’t the 80s anymore.

Best thing Coventry could do is raise funding to buy themselves a new stadium, cut ties with the Ricoh and just build a dedicated football stadium.

We went to the 7s and couldn't help but laugh when a couple of blokes behind us said "wow, first time I've seen this place full"

Sorry, but the condition of that pitch is three bits of nothing to do with playing rugby on it. That is 100% to do with not looking after it.

Weren't the EFL threatening to kick us out of the league in the summer if we didn't sort out a stadium before the start of the season? Not that I'd want that happening to Coventry.
