He's not interacted with the ball, he's not blocked the keeper's view (he's diving the right way before the onside deflection), and the keeper is never getting to where the ball deflects to if the player isn't there. Costa Rica were just chasing shadows. Teams that can dominate the ball will do the best. I know that sounds painfully obvious, but the biggest scorelines have been us and Spain, where both teams didn't let the opposition dictate the pace.
