interesting, some papers are reporting if they don't agree the final will be moved to Budapest?

So football will be coming home, away?

Why do we put up with this shizzle?

I was fortunate enough to go to all of the Euro 96 games.  I would have liked to have gone to see England this time around, but as I'm no longer in the supporters club and with reduced capacity due to covid I guess that wouldn't have been impossible anyway so didn't even try ?

That said, if the stadium is only half full or whatever because of restrictions yet, as with the G7, the rules are being applied differently to VIPs a lot of people including myself are going to feel justifiably upset.

Time to get my pitchfork out!

Neil Ferguson now saying the Indian variant may not be as bad as 1st thought. Great timing Neil, could you of not mentioned this before Monday when Big Boris decided to not let us loose on the 21st….

To be strictly accurate, Professor Ferguson stated that the vaccine is more effective against the Delta variant than was initially assumed.

Quote

His comments last Thursday came on the back of evidence showing the mutant 'Delta' variant was twice as likely to cause severe illness in unvaccinated people compared to the Kent variant and could be up to 80 per cent more infectious.

But the epidemiologist appears to have changed his tune after real-world data on Monday revealed the vaccines were extremely effective at blocking severe disease and hospitalisations.

He hasn't 'changed his tune', despite what the Daily Mail maintain (for what may well be political 'I was right all along' reasons). Key evidence still demonstrates that the Delta variant is far more readily transmittable (it is now the dominant variant in the country) AND it is more likely to have more severe effects in unvaccinated people.

The moral of the story, which should be shouted from the rooftops, is 'Get Vaccinated'*.

*Usual terms and conditions apply - i.e. not if you have established allergic reactions to one or more of the components, are a 'precious snowflake' or already have good 5G coverage.

The number of people who would have died from complications after having the vaccine (when I read previously, was a few weeks ago now so inflate accordingly) was calculated at 33. The people who died of unrelated non-covid reasons would be a tiny fraction of the 130k who died with covid on their death certificate. So, net savings well in excess of 100k lives.

Nope ,,, died of any cause within 28 days of a vaccine ,, that’s the openly posted metric for covid , ??‍♂️

Because we are working from home nice and cosy or getting free money perhaps?

Within 28 days of a vaccine? If I'd written made up stuff like that you'd have a field day.

How about any cause with 28 days of eating a kebab

Any cause within28 days of a road accident

any cause within 28 days of seeing a Chris witty slide

A couple of examples from my family.

Two days after my sister gets her second jab, she is pained by a constant muscle cramp in her calf.  She tries to tough it out, but it gets worse and she can't sleep or do anything because of the pain.  My brother in law drives her to the hospital and upon examination it is found that her calf muscle has actually torn, along with all the veins around it.  Her leg is black and blue up to her knee and it will take ten weeks for her to recuperate.

Last weekend we attended a birthday party for my little cousin.  My stepmother who recently had her second jab is about to leave for home when she gets a nosebleed.  We attend to her and try to wait it out, but the bleeding continues, so my brother in law drives her to the doctor, but they don't go in because she feels that the bleeding is subsiding and shortly thereafter she drives home to Reykjavík.  At home the bleeding starts again and increases, so two days later stops her stubbornness and she goes to the emergency ward but the staff there don't take her condition very seriously and she is made to wait for an hour and a half until attended to.  By that time she had thrown up blood a couple times and just laid down flat on the floor of the hospital bathroom where she was bleeding out.  Pandemonium ensues and she is rushed into care and blood transfusions, spending two nights in hospital.  She is very lucky to be alive, she lost so much blood.  She is still very lightheaded and weak.

Come on then mockers, tell me how there is no connection and how foolish i am to even mention it.

The nosebleed experience that you describe is almost exactly like what happened to me - spooky in fact. It was horrible, nose just started bleeding for no reason and took ages to stop. Eventually it did but then an hour later I sneezed and it started again but this time wouldn't stop - I was swallowing loads of blood, made to hang around the A&E ward for hours with a tampon up my nose (yes really!). I had to have the blood vessels in my nose cauterised, and it took me several weeks to get over it

It was in October 2019, over a year before I had the vaccine. Still...makes you think .It has to be linked right?

I did a return to work interview with a lady who has been off work for 12 weeks. Two days after having her jab she collapsed and spent two weeks in hospital unable to breathe.

She's back at work but on light duties and can't climb stairs without stopping to rest and is undergoing further tests.

Good that you recovered.  i am not claiming that unstoppable nosebleeds don't occur except in relation to having the jab, but thank you for mocking.

Mine was 2011.  Just started at work for no reason. Within 30 minutes I must have gone through 2 pints . Same A&E and a battery of tests. The shock level is horrific as your brain can compute it if you've been punched or fell etc.  Had a camera down my sinuses to look in my throat about 6 months before and my inclination is they damaged something that went.  Still get the occasional issue now and it's definitely reduced my mental health and increased my anxiety level being out and about.

Sorry mate - but you are attempting to link 2 random occurrences to the vaccine. With zero medical evidence. That doesn't deserve anything else but derision

Come on - covid vaccine responsible for a muscle tear in the calf??

Agreed - although to be fair, the information only actually came out on Monday.

(yes, I know - convenient).

Then it would have been available before then to specialists, and perhaps journos but embargoed.
