With Bielik's ACL injury confirmed, then let's hope Baningime can have a Thorne-like influence when coming in to the squad part-way into the season after arriving on loan.

It would be great for Shinnie to build up a good relationship on the pitch with him like he did with Bielik, they were becoming a really good combination in the middle for us. I'd love nothing more than to coin the term "Bangers & Smash" for Baningime and Shinnie (in respect of his endless run of yellow cards) if they can have a similar impact together.

Hello to my fellow  Cornwall based Ram. Greetings from Looe

I'm  still a big fan of Roos an believe he adds more to the team overall than Marshall (Rooney obviously disagrees).

Have to disagree on this one. Roos is a great shot stopper and fairly good in one v ones. Marshall does these as well but is also a very good communicator. If you watch during the games he is constantly talking to the defence and organising things. Think he is also way better at catching and commanding the area too. Admittedly Roos hasn't done anything wrong this season when he's played, but Marshall is just a bit better.

Seems like a right footed Clarke. A ball playing CB who is good in the air.

A quick google says he's 1.9m tall, and scored 2 in just 16 games for Rangers so should be an additional threat at set pieces.

think hes going to play a big part in the fight to stay up , big quick and strong , ideal championship centre half

Marshall may be better at catching, but he's always rooted to his line when the ball comes into the box so we'll never find out.
The #1 requirement of a goalkeeper is keeping shots out of the goal. At the moment, we aren't a side which will score more than 1 goal on anything resembling a regular basis, so keeping the ball out of the net becomes even more important.

Roos - 75.0% save ratio
Marshall - 66.2% save ratio

47 keepers have played in the Championship this season. From those to have played at least as much as Roos (4 games) those with a better save ratio are:
Krul - 85.1%
Begovic - 80.2%
Woodman - 79.7%
Westwood - 79.2% (8 games)
Wilson - 78.8%
Iverson - 76.9% (4 games)
Dieng - 75.3%

Keepers to have played at least 4 games with a worse ratio than Marshall:
Rudd - 65.8%
Daniels - 64.7% (4 games)
Johansson - 64.3% (5 games)
Bursik - 58.3%

One of the best at keeping the ball out of the net vs one of the worst?

I think there is a reason he stays on his line, and that's because he isn't very good at claiming crosses.

But isn't that including the first part of the season under Cocu?

Byrne    Knight    Shinnie    Buchanan

Roberts                Jozwaik

Kazim-Richards

Like the look of that team mate. Thought Bird was a bit weak in midfield last night, also would love to see Roberts out wide, if this is the line up a 3-0 rams victory, is on the cards.

A tight contest should be expected at Oakwell as Derby, fresh from an impressive run of clean sheet victories face a Barnsley side that has failed to win any of their last 5 league outings.

Key Facts

Barnsley have drawn their last 2 league games following a run of 3 successive losses. They had won 5 of their 6 previous league matches

Barnsley have won 6, lost 3 and drawn 1 of their last 10 home league matches

Barnsley have failed to win any of their last 5 league matches

Barnsley have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last 7 home league matches

Derby have won each of their last 3 league matches, all by a 1:0 scoreline

Derby have only lost 1 of their last 5 away league matches, keeping clean sheets in 4

Derby have only lost 3 of their 13 most recent league matches

Derby have seen under 2.5 goals scored in 21 of their last 23 league matches

Derby are unbeaten on their last 2 visits to Oakwell

Barnsley won 2:0 at Pride Pàrk when these sides last met in November

Rotherham?

I think "Derby are looking to bounce back after their run of clean sheet victories was torn to shreds by a 3-0 defeat at The New York Stadium" would be more appropriate. Or something similar.

But yer think it will be a tightly contested affair and the team who scores the first goal will be massive.

Menghi is not a midfielder.
