What a day for bad news, our potential buyer might not be as rich as we thought,  and Sean Connery sadly passing away.

Is this the same guy that failed the fit and proper person test in relation to Newcastle takeover bid ? Worrying if so.....

Different guy, that guy was Saudi. This guy failed his Newcastle bid because apparently Mike Ashley bumped up the sale price at the last second.

Think its difficult to say the valuer of our possible new owner as he would be considered a state backed businessman.

Bit like PSG and Man City's owners, yes there's a name but that name is backed by a crazy amount of family and state money.

I'm not sure if I'm reading DCFC Fans in 2020 or LTLF in 2013 with this comment.

There seem to be two similar sounding but completely different people.

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Muhammed bin Zayed al Nahyan.

Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed al Nahyan.

The first sounds like the one with the serious dosh as he's got an extra title and his own Wiki entry.

The second is the Chairman of the UAE rowing club, which is very important for us in Hampshire , being nautical coves.....?

It seems like it. I don't understand why people think there are two of them.

Here is a profile of him

Because there's another guy with a similar name from the same part of the world....

If he is reading all these threads I think he will change his mind about putting in an offer for us... Well done lads ☹️

Let's hope not although you would suspect that a man in his position is a little more hardy than that and wouldn't crumble after a few disparaging comments on a local football internet forum!

Yes he's not the only one with a similar name. If you go on to https://dhow.com/ there is a long list of people in the ruling family of Abu Dhabi. The guy who's trying to buy the club is in there and he is also a businessman who set up the Bin Zayed Group.

I don’t believe any of the figures being quoted. I suspect his personal wealth is substantially less than being quoted in the various media.

I'm inclined to agree. I suppose it depends on how much is being sold, but I think Mel wants some money back.
