Well that's progress they were funding the IRA to blow women and kids up a while back .

People are strange. The people who were vehemently anti Corbyn for his supposed views on the IRA are pro Trump (IRA and Sinn Fein sympathiser).

You can only use historical stuff to criticise the left.

When Johnson was against the removal of Section 28 and wrote articles against gay people joining the military, that was well back in the day.

Rule Britannia..

If you aren't white and english, I wouldn't go out this weekend. Lots of Brexiteers will be 'celebrating' and looking for someone to bravely have a go at. They should be saving their money for potential redundancy. Probably better to be made redundant now though before Trump makes us change the rules to a US system.

This might have been the land of hope and glory once, but as evidenced by Farage and his band of absolute Bamfords in the EU parliament this week, we are simply now a nation that lacks a bit of the class we like to think we bring to the world.

Is it just me that thinks the proms is a bunch of flag waving poxy nonsense?

This is coming from a guy that served in the armed forces and considers wearing the Union Jack on my uniform for the first time one of the proudest moments of my life. I want to love Great Britain, I really do. But things like Brexit and a massively overblown sense of our own importance is making it really difficult for me to do so like I once did.

You are right about the Last Night of the Proms. But the Proms as a whole was introduced to make classical music available to the masses and an affordable price. Sounds a bit socialist to me, probably my @Angry Ram likes it.

I think the BBC should be rethinking why the Last Night is seemingly a "reserved event" that gets prime time live coverage. Its given up other such crown jewels. It doesn't justify the prominence it gets, although i don't have strong views as to cancelling it altogether - stick it on BBC3 perhaps.
