The philosophy and style he brought to the team at the start was being thrown out because results weren’t right, training and match days had changed, players expected him to “crumble”. - He avoided confrontation; certain players would go speak to him about not being in the team and wouldn’t really get an answer. —— Not sure how much of this is Benty bitterness and how much is the real reason, but it doesn’t sound like something that would have to have been kept so quiet. Ramet Posted August 4, 2018 Share Posted August 4, 2018 So glad a player has finally said something.backs up what iv been saying for ages that yes we have had plenty of managers but if people knew the truth they would understand why a fair few have been sacked.we only see what the papers and news want us to see and mel has remained professional all the way.so much goes on behind the scenes that we have no clue about.the sacking of clement was NOT a knee jerk reaction. To bring in Harry or similar would have been a good option. Perhaps by this time it was obvious than he wasn't experienced enough for the job and the best solution was to get rid. Papahet Posted August 4, 2018 Share Posted August 4, 2018 Paul’s right on this one. Bent looked really unfit that season and totally out his depth on the pitch, he still does today IMO. Odd, considering he always posts pictures doing gym work, particularly running. Derbyram1983 Posted August 4, 2018 Share Posted August 4, 2018 So certain players were getting upset. They should have respect for their manager and accept the managers decisions. Same group of players that helped Pearson get sacked. Seems like to me when the players don’t agree and get on with the managers they seem to not want to give their all. Why get involved on social media with something that should remain private. DB (rightly or wrongly) has called him out on SKY but the better man would refrain from reacting in public. If he felt something needed to be said he would have been better going face to face and deal with it. But then does that point to him being unable to deal with man to man confrontation.
