Promotion guaranteed now for Villa just like the time his 26 goals fired Bristol City to the championship title.

Oops, I mean 17th.

Take those 26 goals away and they would have been relegated, so he was solely responsible for them being a division higher, that’s what Villa are hoping for too.

So you're assuming that whoever would have played instead of him would have blanked all season? Good player but some posters seem paranoid about him.

Villa suffered last season when Kodjia and Hogan were injured. Assuming Abraham signs that is unlikely to happen again.

Not blanked but scored no where near 26 in a poor team. Ask any Bristol fan who kept them up that season

There aren't any flaws in the argument. Teams with the best players tend to get promoted. I would say that Abraham is better than  what we have and with Martin gone and Jerome apparently going there seems to be a financial opportunity to sign him.

You said Abraham is proven in this league yet Waghorn has only had 1 good season. Although Abraham has only had 1 good season is this league. How can 1 player be proven and another a 1 season wonder? What if Abraham fails to score 5 goals this season? Why the need to bash our players that have barely played a handful of games for us? If Lampard felt we needed Abraham I'm sure he would have gone after him.

Abraham is head and shoulders better than what we have. The club lacks ambition particularly when the competition numbers Villa, Boro, West brom, stole, Leeds, Swansea, forest et al.

Actually Vydra was head and shoulders our best forward but it matters not as we may now have a better team in terms of villa can they win the ball and get to the forwards?

He didn’t appeal to any Premier club and it was last ditch by Villa by the looks of it. A bit like Chris Martin going to Hull.

Don’t know if we were ever truely in for him, but still don’t like to see a rival (who were apparently potless a few weeks ago) strengthen with an obviously decent player at this level.  Oh well.  Doesn’t really effect us in reality.

Doesn’t affect us but is still strengthening a rival. Would much rather face a fellow championship team without Abraham than with him in the team. He bullied Keogh and Pearce the last time we faced him. Let’s hope that he’s lost his confidence after the last year and is rusty.

Never wish for a club to go under because the love fans have for their club is irreplaceable but it’s a joke how Villa can continue to bring players in after the fiasco of earlier this summer, where they were close to going under and reportedly needed to sell their best players including Grealish to stay afloat after missing payments to HMRC. I know they have new investment but I find it ridiculous how the league and ffp still allows them to sign players whilst Tony xia is still associated with their club. The whole purpose of the introduction of ffp was to prevent clubs from going under but it’s meant that smaller clubs can’t compete with the best clubs.
