The ref would have had to decide why he put his hand up in that position (it has nothing to do with jumping - you can see him drop his hand then lift it again when the ball goes past him). What is the reason for him to lift his arm thus? The ref decided that it was to block the ball from the player behind. That Pique is not looking at the ball is neither here nor there. Golovin has plenty of potential and needs to move to a major club to develop his game and realise it. Praying for penalties, the great equalizer.
