This ref looks like a frightened 12 year old, absolute gutless coward. Where the **** do they find these people??

I don't get it. Var is for potential red cards. If its not a red then you cant give a yellow surely?

If you can refs will see it as a loophole and use it for yellows.

Var equals very average referee.

Colombia are dirty cheats.

Yeah but we know that, we're playing into their hands - we needs more smarts! Lets hope Southgate tells them whats what at half-time, we need to play our game.

Fairly good from England so far. Lingard looks like he could run this game. They just can't get near him. Need him on the ball more.

Why are Colombia looking to turn this nasty? Look at that from a coach on a player!

Why?!

They did the same when they reviewed a potential red for Ronaldo - seems to be completely against the spirit of the laws....

Seriously? Because we forget to play our game and get dragged into being stupid.

Exactly yes they did.

ITV have just shown a Colombia coach, waiting for Sterling at half-time, drop his shoulder into him as he ran past then claim to the referee that Sterling instigated it.

Colombia's game plan is clear as day. Provoke England into a reaction and perhaps try to break if they get the chance. Their primary intention though is to wind up the English players and get one sent off.

It's pathetic. If Colombia do progress tonight then I'll be 100% rooting for Sweden in the quarters. This Colombia side deserve absolutely nothing.

Bizarre decision to go to VAR and award a yellow card for a headbutt. If that was Neymar, he would have done 6 rolls and the stretcher would have been on followed by an ambulance on stand-by.

Madness.

England look solid enough but they're lacking with Alli totally ineffective. Sterling is an amazing poacher, he's proved that with his goals for Man City. What he isn't is a David Silva instigating attacks and controlling the tempo.

Stop giving Sterling the ball 40 yards from goal and get him playing on the last man. Replace Alli for Loftus-Cheek and look to build attacks.

To be fair I've been impressed by England not getting involved too much. Colombia have been pretty incessant with their unsporting behaviour from kick off and you'd have to be absolutely stone cold not to react sometimes.

Colombia have been cynical cos they know they're weaker than England, look at Falcao following through into Deli's knee.

We're much the better team, just have to be a bit cooler without losing tempo cos we look great tbh.

Not very often...but I agree with all of what you have wrote!

But I don't think we've really engaged. If we are getting headbutted, pushed and barged off the ball then there's going to be appeals to the ref.

The stop start nature is mostly them fouling. We can't help that.

When England have had the ball they've been composed. No sign of losing the plot. Fairly comfortable. Just need a tighter touch from Sterling and more of Lingard on the ball. Alli needs to relax too
