Alph
So we're back to where Rowett was in the second half of his first game for Derby. Let's not drop Vydra and go 433 at Bolton this time eh Gary

Keep this team but replace Russell with Lawrence and all of a sudden we've gone from an attack with 0 pace to an attack that will frighten defences to death, speed merchants! GermanRam
Weimann MOTM for me. Or Vydra. Today's Weimann with Vydra and Lawrence behind Martin (Nugent). Stunning.
RadioactiveWaste
Second half was much better. We missed chances before the pen, and we deserved to win. The ref I suspect on the replays will not be as bad as the south stand thought. Although he did have some odd moments.
SuperDerbySuperRams
Vydra could absolutely dominate this league if we find a place for him in the side. Has all the quality, just needs to settle.
mwram1973
Good performance tonight. Defended well and although we missed quite a few chances, at least we're making them. Replace Russell and I think going forward, with that starting 11, we'll start to bang them in. I think he'll sign another striker tbh and a CM. Just a hunch. P.S, i'm not bashing Russell, but out of the 2 wide men he didn't do half of what Wiemann did tonight.

Just need to make sure we chill on trying the killer longballs. Too many were easily mopped up. Preston we pathetic in attack and that won't always be the case so we need to keep the ball a bit better. For 10 minutes in the second half we really started forcing Vydra into the game. The wingers tucked in a bit more and Olsson wasn't involved at all in the kick and chase we did in the first half. It's nice variety to do both. That's the only criticism tonight. For lengthy periods it was just hoof and wasting energy. But for 10/15 minutes of each half we showed more intelligence in when we chose to go for it. Jimbo Ram
Was watching the cricket so didn't follow much of the Rams match. Good to hear a better performance and great to get 2 wins on the night!!!!
SuperDerbySuperRams
Identical penalty decision to the one missed by the ref at Sunderland. Same run too from Davies. Stonewall
DEL
Good win we deserved it tbh. Good to see Derby fans gave Johnny a decent standing ovation tonight. ? How the heck Nugent not score there?
robglosta
That's the Weimann and Vydra we could and should have. Up to Gary to coach them into consistency now, and that spawns from him undertstanding which formations and combo's/partnerships work, and settling into a common starting XI. thelovebelow
We weren't great first half but better the second. I know GR wanted more tempo but that can come at a cost of rushing. We needed more composure to let the quality of the players shine through. The players in the first 20 mins of the second half slowed the play down and looked for the pass which made a huge difference, instead of percentage, kick it upfield for runners to latch on to, and needlessly giving away posession. This just puts more pressure on the team. We need balance. Picking up the tempo is fine, but that has to be textured in with picking out the passes. We need to get back through 'Going through the gears' like we did under Mac's first season. Change the speed and control the game. Otherwise, it's pure chaos, and against higher quality opposition, that will cost you. Let's hope GR starts with changing tempo in the next game rather than high octane stuff throughout the game. Control it. Slow it down, speed it up.
Kennington Ram
Didn't manage to watch/listen tonight but great to hear things looking up and that we seem to have found a formation that works. A win at the weekend aaaand we're two from four.
