See that wardrobe expression, flippin' hate it, I'd like to custard pie whoever came up with it. (Anvil concealed in said custard pie)

Believe it was either Ramage or Dawes.

Believe it was either Ramage or Dawes.

Still like to custard pie him, whichever one it was.

And while I'm on the subject of sayings that bilge me, "Rip/Ripped him a new one". I just think of loutish concourse beer chuckers when I see/hear it, it doesn't make the person using it appear a rufty tufty hardman, just an uncouth nob. :)

I have a few:

"Get rid of the lot of them"

"They're all overpaid"

"We deserve more"

"We are a bigger club than them"

"Stimac (or any other half-decent former player) could do a job as a coach"

"They're all spineless bottlers"

After every new manager's first press conference - "I was really impressed, he sounds intelligent, he knows what's needed and I'm confident with him going forward"

"Nick Blackman is the worst footballer that ever lived"

And many more...

Yep, they are all cliches.

But it does say something about the season that they have BECOME cliches.

I am looking forward to the season (hopefully 17/18) where the cliches are ...

'Pinch me I'm dreaming'

'I am in dreamland'

'How long can this last'

'Wish my Dad was here to see this'

that kind of stuff.
